I am usually the one saying that same thing. Let me ask you a question, who fumbles more per snap, Allen or Lamar? I don't know the answer but if Allen has 6 more fumbles than Lamar, I believe he has a lot more volume in terms of snaps. What are Allen's turnover stats in the postseason? Are they the same or different than the regular season? Josh's INT% is 2.5%. Tom Brady is at 1.8% career as is Mahomes. Brett Favre was at 3.3% Lamar is at 2.1% Burrow 2.0%. Stafford is at 2.4% Tua 2.3%, Rodgers is the gold standard at this at 1.4%. Is Josh higher than his peers? Yes, is it astronomical? No, I wish he would just correct it by 25% and be in line with his peers. Josh has 78 INT's in 6 seasons, Tom Brady had the same number, 78 INT's in his first 6 seasons starting. OK, I did the math on fumbles, Lamar fumbles at a rate of 1.77% of passing attempts plus rushing attempts, Josh's rate is 1.55% so Lamar has a bigger "fumbling problem" than Josh. The difference is similar if you do fumbles per snap, Lamar fumbles more, not sure what the best metric is. My point is not that Josh should not work to clean up turnovers, it is that it is overblown......because it is.

CeeDee Lamb gets paid: 4 year $136M extension
Matt_In_NH replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall
With the supply of WR's coming out of college, I dont see why the market is growing so fast. -
Earlier in the offseason I looked at various QB power rankings and almost every single one had the same top four. All of them had Mahomes 1 and then some combination of Allen, Jackson and Burrow for the next three. I don't see the love affair with Lamar, understand he is really talented but he has had availability problems and has not done well in pressure situations. I am biased but Allen is clearly above Lamar for those reasons. Burrow has a stronger case to me as he has performed well in the playoffs but he is not a running threat and has had his own availability issues. Allen is an enigma due to the perception he is a turnover machine.....it is true he has led the league in turnovers and INT's over the last 4 years but it is also true he has led the league in TD's. If you look at his INT% which is how you should look at it, he is not that out of whack, his number is high but not off the charts high like is perceived.

Bass struggling at minicamp (and now at training camp)
Matt_In_NH replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The bills have had a great defense under McDermott. They have failed in big moments so I get that but what part does Allen play on having the lowest point against the last 5 years? Any franchise qb is critical for their teams success. Look at the bengals last year without burrow. -
Prefer versatility does not mean they always select versatility….they will take the overall best value.

It’s just a matter of how long it takes the organization to realize they have to make a change. His contract is such you cannot easily waive him. But you might need to IR him at some point and bring in a vet. -

One guy has created all the success the last four years? What a ridiculous post. -

You want a qb you saw do well against guys who won’t make an nfl team? Are you a preseason virgin? -

Bass has never exuded confidence to me. He looks like a scrawny nervous kid and always has. He has not had a lot of pressure kicks and has not done well when he has them. -
The refs are off their game, it’s the preseaon for them too!

Do Athletes endorsements affect your purchasing?
Matt_In_NH replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Look at Facebook tv and twitter revenues etc. it’s all ad money. Most people are not aware of how much they get influenced by marketing. Athlete specific could be one way or the other depending on the person but all that money is not spent for nothing. -
This tired idea again…… 4 of the 5 highest Buffalo Bills point scoring years have come in the last 4 years….infathomable!

Three offseasons ago KC fans had this same thought process, they then won the next two SB's and are going for their third. Perceptions and reality are two different things. The team is transitioning, they have JA and a great organization, new stars/leaders will emerge. You can see it how you want but IMO they have not peaked.

Curtis Samuel Turf Toe, Other Injury Updates
Matt_In_NH replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Week to week means that is in jeopardy. The one thing Isabella brings is speed. But no he is not a Samuel replacement. Samuel is unique and. I one else does exactly what he does. Guys will fill the gap with different abilities. -
Here is the thing, the NFL teams do exactly what you are talking about but there are no actual official position for Special teams gunner, it is often a WR who fills that role. Fans, see WR next to a guys name and looks for a guy who is better at fantasy football at WR, they see no value in gunner, what that means, they just think you just need lots of "weapons", even if it is the 6th WR who has no prayer to get on the field if everyone is healthy, the thought of a 6th weapon is their porn.

Andreessen will make the team - UPDATE: he made it

Its not andrewwsenofsky? -
At the end of the CHiefs game, I believe Araiza outkicked the coverage and gave up a big run back that resulted in a game losing FG as time expired. The Araiza situation was pretty unique. To now propose that Worthy is going to be equal to Hill is kind of just making stuff up, alarmist/panicky sounding. The Bills did not give up on Worthy, you have no clue who the Bills would have drafted there. Why dont we give the BIlls crap for not drafting Sky Moore or other guys who did not work out for the CHiefs. This topic is very middle school dramaish.

If you could get a day 2 pick for Cook would you pull the trigger…
Matt_In_NH replied to julian's topic in The Stadium Wall
RB's get banged up a lot, you 100% need both. Their skill sets are very different and that is a good thing. If I had to pick one I would pick Davis probably but I am assuming what he will be in regular season. Cook has an ability to see a crease and be 8 yards downfield in a flash, Davis will never be that. What Cook is good at Cook is great at but he is equally bad at short yardage, block and catching. Davis is more well rounded but not as dynamic a player. But you should listen to offers. -
Can we put this in the other thread, also with his name miss-spelled only differently?
-
So there is a way? THe problem is most fans are so influenced by stats and fantasy football they dont see the challenge in filling out an entire 53 that gives them guys who can play all the special teams postitions.

You mean the most important ability is availability. I agree though he can be a star -

For the last two year he has had nagging injuries that affected his play, both years he had some sacks. In 2022 he had 4 sacks in the first 4 games, in 2023 he had three sacks in the first 4 games. Both times i think he had an ankle of foot ailment of some sort. I believe if he can stay closer to 100% he will be a very good pass rusher.
