What’s going on with Chiefs starting rookie LT Simmons
Walking Tall replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
We all know the Chiefs are more concerned about the kids well being than they are with what he can offer them on the field. Their track history shows that. -

Jim Kelly would have got into a wrestling match with McDermott on the sidelines. -

The problem is….they’ve pretty much sucked for 6 weeks but it has finally caught up with them the past 2.- 82 replies

Absolutely true. It’s also true that Walker received those snaps because Jones went down. Up until yesterday Walker was getting about a third of plays from what I have read. That number needs to be higher. If he can play 80% out of absolute necessity he should be able to play 60% in normal circumstances. Getting this kid more time is only going to make him better come January.

Possible. Along with what I said.

You mean people aren’t happy with 16 catches for 125 yards in his last 5 games? Those are some stellar stats right there.
-
I don’t agree with that. Walker is 6’7” and about 330. Dexter Lawrence is 6’4 and around 340. Lawrence is receiving about 40% more of his team’s defensive snaps than Walker is. That is a substantial amount more. IMO, it’s more because Walker is a rookie and the Bills philosophy has been to always rotate their d-linemen.

Walker gives me Pat Williams vibes. That kid is something else.

OK, so not designing plays to get the absolute best weapon into space with ball in his hands isn’t an issue when your QB is struggling to find open guys with the other team bringing heat on him play after play isn’t an issue? Got it. Well, if you enjoyed the past two weeks you’re absolutely going to love it when the Chiefs come to town and bring blitzes from every look imaginable and our albatross wide receivers try to get open.

Cook: 5 targets, 5 catches for 58 yards in the Baltimore game. The next three weeks….8 targets, 7 catches for 31 yards. The last two weeks….1 target, 0 catches, 0 yards and an 0-2 record with those games being the worst offensive performances of the season. Draw your own conclusions.

At some point you need to take away the keys to the Lamborghini from your child because they failed to rotate the tires and change the oil. The child is Beane/McDermott. The Lamborghini is Allen. The dad is Pegula. Terry, be a parent, not a friend.

Correct. If Bishop made that tackle, which should have been easy, maybe the Falcons don’t even score and they game turns out different?
-
I don’t think it’s about his touches. I am more in line with you have to make the defense respect that James Cook may be getting the ball. That may have been enough to freeze defenders on those two miserable short yardage plays they failed on tonight…..well, at least one. The Bills can’t even successfully run a jet sweep no matter who is on the field.

LB Shaq Thompson..........what could have been......
Walking Tall replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard is proving to be too small and too slow. The guy has a hell of an IQ…..but so did Einstein and he wasn’t suited to play LB in the NFL. -
Strong comeback. 🙄 Remember that play when Allen rolled to his left to evade pressure….and kept looking and scanning the field for a good 5 to 7 seconds before he had to run. Nobody could get open. That was screaming for a huge play but his receivers couldn’t oblige.

They need a shakeup - There I said it
Walking Tall replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
When receivers are not getting any separation, ultimately that will lend itself to forcing a ball or two a game. No matter who the QB. -
Agreed and it’s pathetic. It’s almost like they forgot that 4th down play in KC last year when he willed his way into the endzone. Something is going on and it isn’t good.
