Yeah not looking great. I know he said immediately after the game he'd be good to go, but I haven't seen anything conlusively saying how it's looking for him.

Douglas has moderate MCL sprain. That’s usually a 2-4 week injury.

Gabe has the PCL, unless it’s mild which is 7-10 days, I think he’s in that same 2-4 week boat.

Of course I expect both guys with ligaments to try and go next weekend.

Dodson apparently wrecked his shoulder on that flip tackle - torn labrum and partial rotator cuff tear. It didn’t look that gruesome at all, but after that flip tackle he only played two more snaps and he went to the locker room. Guess he could try the Jordan Phillips from last year, but how effective is that going to be.

McDermott might not declare all three of them officially out tomorrow at 11:00 AM on WGR, but after reading the main game thread, I don’t think any of them are getting back on the field Sunday.

I'm not buying that for one minute John. I know many here want to buy into that narrative.

Prior to the game there was never any indication that the team was empty, had nothing left, couldn't focus, drained, life less, psychology spent, etc...

Not once did I hear, read, or see anything remotely close that indicated they had nothing left.

In fact, the narrative in many instances was a complete 180. Many were saying this was a team of destiny. Signs galore win one for Damar. Damar was at the stadium! What a boost it would give the team and fans. Frenzied home crowd advantage.

Bengals oline a shell of itself. The Bills would crush Burrow.

Where was this nothing left in the tank theory? Didn't even hear any scuttlebutt about this.

Even after the Miami game, what was the resounding theme. Gutted out a win even though they played poorly. Resilient team. Gotta play better. Nada about being flat or running out of football fuel. Not a peep. Did you hear anything?  I heard was how McD was out coached. That was crystal clear.

Prior to the game please go back on this message board and find me a poster who felt like the Bills would be flat, out of gas, unable to compete, etc ... I'll save you some time. It doesn't exist because the narrative was created after the fact. After they shi! the bed

A narrative created after the fact that saw a Bengals team buzz saw through the termite infested Bills team. A coaching staff that had no game plan after getting waxed in a dress rehearsal weeks before. To this day, I have no idea what they were thinking.

McD had to create this thesis to save face. His team was clearly unprepared, outclassed, and taken to the wood shed. Dorsey was as lost as ever. Frazier was as lost as ever. McD was as lost as ever. It was utter incompetence staying us in the face. Hard to swallow after the previous year's 13 second disaster. Trust your eyes not a false narrative.

    Go Bills!!!

I had a bad feeling about Monday Night going in and we were going to get killed in that game.

It’s not the spent excuse, the Bengals physically and mentally pushed the Bills around.

When I heard McDermott and Frazier talking about how they didn’t have to change much of the gameplan from the Monday Night game because you couldn’t take much away from a half quarter I knew we were going to get rocked again.

Sure enough, first drive Mixon looking like Jamal Lewis, and we’re playing 21 yards off Chase & Higgins.

We were out athleted and intimidated all day. The crowd was non-existent from the jump.

    Sounds like Gabe is out.

If a sprained ankle in Week 2 was still being mentioned as the reason for his down year, then I had no reason to believe he’d be ready to go from a PCL in one week.

Sorry Gabe, nobody bought the sprained ankle excuse last year, and this year the numbers and efficiency are even lower and you’ve been healthy all year.

Get told how hard of a worker he is, 2 weeks after the season is over he’s taking shirtless pics and he’s got a beer belly and 0 definition.

That really hurts the Bills chances. Especially, the Douglas injury. Damn is right

Yeah our local media is blissfully unaware of what @HappyDays has reported and is just going day by day checking to see if these guys practice.

They've turned every show into breakdowns on the weather and whether or not the Steelers fans will travel well.

Meanwhile we have 8 guys not practicing for this game.

Luckily Knox and Dawkins on Thursday should have enough time to get better from illness and Harry hopefully gets back from his personal matter. Mitch had an illness designation last week on Friday and was already deemed good to play on Sunday the next days.

Hopefully between Davis, Dodson, Douglas and Rapp they at least get 2 of the 4 going. I think Davis is likely out and Douglas will likely play the other two are 50/50.

Everyone is banged up this time of year, not the worst injury report.

@HappyDays reported moderate MCL for Rasul Douglas. Mild is 10-days, but moderate is 2-4 weeks.

Same thing with Davis’ PCL. Ligament strains don’t seem to heal unless they’re minor within 2-weeks.

And the other thing - Dodson according to @HappyDays doesn’t just have a Grade 1 AC joint strain, it’s a labrum tear and partial rotator cuff tear.

So that report made me think none of these guys are going to be right for the rest of the Playoffs.

Sure Dodson might try and go like Phillips last year, yeah he was out there, but he was pass rushing with one arm and the other arm was in an L.

I don’t think he has is my point.

Yeah I know the 90 grade from PFF gets referenced a lot.

But when people say he’s played well, I can’t remember a ton of specific plays he’s made this year.

Bills have been “good” against the run,  but not among the Top 5.

And I don’t remember much against the pass. He did “sack” Achane on Sunday night.

It must be a matter of he doesn’t miss the tackles that are there, and he gets in the way enough on passing plays.

I swear they just keep AJ locked in a broom closet. Let him out when we need an extra linebacker here and there. Maybe he does some team laundry in the meantime to earn a meal.

As long as he has continued to work out and stay in shape for 2-down run stuffing work.

That’s what we need, because he’s been coming off the field on 3rd downs to drop Poyer in the linebacker spot.

It's been a while since I got info like this, but here's what I was just told about injuries:

Douglas - Moderate MCL knee sprain. Will almost certainly miss this week and possibly the divisional round too...

Dodson - Tore his left labrum and partially tore his rotator cuff (ouch). Same injury timeline as Douglas.

Rapp - Calf & achilles strain. Not a huge concern.

Almost certainly going to missing Douglas, Dodson, and Davis against the Steelers... Let's hope they can be back the following week.

Is this something where you can go back to your source and see how this is progressing?

Specifically wondering on Douglas MCL, a lot of variance between a mild and moderate sprain.

As we see with Watt, he was officially diagnosed with a Grade II (moderate) and reports are he wouldn't be back until the AFC Championship.

Hoping that Douglas is closer to the mild strain than initially thought.

  8. 26 minutes ago, CincyBillsFan said:

McD said the injuries were "day to day" and not "week to week".  This means there's a chance one or more of these guys will play Sunday and there's a very good chance they'll play the following week if the Bills win.

If Rasul Douglas' MCL is closer to a mild than moderate he could be closer to that 10-day window.

But a classic MCL Grade 2 is usually 3-4 weeks.

...ok, so first of all, we KNOW Josh should have only thrown the ball to a guy in the endzone or thrown it away.  That was a mistake.  But if you get past that, it was a good throw to an open guy and it looked like Johnson was going to score until Baker blew him up with a helmet to helmet hit at the goal line.  Why no flag there?   It was blatant and knocked Johnson out of the game with a concussion.

The pass was behind him or he scores there.

Johnson had to stop and reach back for it, just for a split second.

WR Gabe Davis (knee), CB Rasul Douglas (knee), S Taylor Rapp (calf) and LB Tyrel Dodson (shoulder) will not practice today and are day-to-day moving forward throughout the week, according to McDermott.

Yeah, when you listen to the press conference, McDermott didn't offer the day-to-day tag, it was the reporter who said something like so they're in the day to day bucket and he said yeah.

So interesting the wording compared to the report from @HappyDays

  11. I think a part of it is a natural letdown from Miami.

Going 5-0 down the stretch, climbing out of the hole, catching and passing Miami.

Now you have to reset and climb another mountain.

Also, the thing that is gnawing at me is the injuries. The Bills had a clean injury report going into Miami. They were the opening day Bills minus Milano (Douglas replaces Tre White).

Now they have a ripped shoulder, two knee ligament strains and a concussion.

Now, I think we should still beat the Steelers, but Kansas City after that is looming and I’m hoping that Douglas and Davis could be back for that game, because Sherfield as your #2 is going to catch up with you eventually.

And eventually Douglas not being there will be felt.

I also worry about this coaching staff playing Von Miller because of who he was instead of putting better players on the field - Kingsley Jonathan & Linval Joseph.

Same injury Jordan Phillips had last year FWIW. After a week or two of rest you can play with a sling/brace, and of course a pre-game visit from Dr. Needle.

Yeah the leg whip causes what's called a valgus force on the outside of the knee which puts pressure on the MCL and leads to the strain.

How ironclad is this source because this is horrific news if true.

None of these guys are going to be right the rest of the year, so I guess get used to Dane Jackson, Baylon Spector and Trent Sherfield out there.

You’re not fixing strain ligaments in a week or two. Gabe trips over his own feet and hurts himself.

And no you can’t play with the same injury that Phillips had. He tried last year and his arm was in this shape — L — the rest of the year, passing rushing with one arm.

So healthy going into that stupid final game too.

This ain’t like oh we had a couple

    of little injuries out here.

Douglas moderate MCL strain - what?  On that leg whip he got all of that?

Dodson did all of that of that on that flip tackle?

  14. Please coaching staff, watch this tape and play Kingsley Jonathan.

On Tua's game sealing pick, Von did get good push against the RT, but that's about as much as I noticed him.

Most of the time he was pushed past the QB.

There was one rush where #73 for the Dolphins just shocked Miller with his hands and made him stagger backwards.

WGR 550 in the pregame said that before the game he was on the field and you can see an obvious limp.

And Harty.  Gabe Davis however was making blocks which allowed other players to make receptions including Shakir.

Yeah man, on that Shakir play down the sideline he bulldozed one Dolphin into another one - took them both out.

  16. Early in the season, after the Patriots game, I called for him to get more snaps.

But after the Patriots game he was virtually benched and I stopped thinking they would use him again.

He popped up again once in the Kansas City.

Andy Isabella and Harty may have to play more this coming week.

On the third quote, my response would be why do we only seem to see it happen between Josh and Davis? Doesn’t seem to be an issue with anyone other receiver.

Because all of Gabe’s routes are 90-yards down the field because he has as much ability to turn as Titanic.
