So, we can’t throw them well. And we can’t catch them well. And we can’t black them well.

    Hmm, perhaps we shouldn’t…

This is why when every analyst was screaming from the mountain top that we’d found our long lost identity after the Cowboys game, that we could just line up and pound it all game, every game, it just made no sense and was a useless talking point.

Iron out something in the pass game please. First it was throwing to backs, then it was unleashing Cook as a super weapon, a couple of deep shots that have just missed the past two games.

Oh and Trent Sherfield is useless, so please stop putting him on the field.

Josh legitimately may be the worst QB in the league at throwing a WR screen. He very simply is incapable of putting the ball in the WRs chest.

I trust Josh to be more accurate on a throw 40 yards down the sideline than to a WR 5 yards away at the line of scrimmage.

    Eliminate it from the playbook.

He’s a playmaker off script, but my gosh those two to Cook today were awful decisions, both lost yards (and were not blocked well anyways).

Like Von, Murray is playing his way to the bench. That drop was really bad.  When he’s in on short yardage, the defense is just waiting for him to run blindly up the gut.

Playoff Lenny is available and needs to be activated.

I think people forgot how good the NE defense is.  This is not shocking at all.  With how bad Josh is playing and the drops we are doing just fine.

Nobody wants to hear this nedboy7.

The Bills have 0 injuries on offense, are playing at home, etc.

They are playing flat out terrible football on offense.

    The gameplan is ERRATIC.

Brady is *****in' brain dead.  3rd and 2, you have to run the ball twice to get a first down.  Yet another dropped pass by Murray, and McDummy dials up 4th and puss.  GROW A PAIR, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FIGHTING FOR YOUR PLAYOFF LIVES!!!!

Amen, 8-yards on first down and we stop running the ball.

Josh is off but everyone around him including the guy in the booth suck today.  Out of everyone to blame on offense,  Josh isn't in the top 10.

    How?

He’s been all over the place with the ball.

Several low passes that players are having to dive for.

The offensive line is getting beaten up front, but that interception was awful.

Did you know Kincaid has the 6th most catches all time for a rookie TE?

Did you know that Kincaid has 1-2 games less then everyone on that list ahead of him?

Did you know that non of those teams had a 2nd TE taking receptions as well?

Did you know Laporta which is the only reason for this post has had 40 more targets (81 rec 113 targets)? while Kincaid has 62 rec on 76 targets

Yes he’s compiling a lot of small catches.

This is just like the stats earlier in the year DVOA and EPA and RISP and ROR and WAR over and over.

Wee watch the games, there isn’t much meaningful impact. Hasn’t been all year.

    It’s okay to say it.

    Now wait a minute.

All of last summer it was said on this board he was going to play slot to justify his high draft pick.

Now we're being told he dropped off the map because he is spitting time with Knox at the TE position.

    Which is it ?

This is the correct point to make.

The 1.5 personnel talk, the “heavy-slot” - he has the hands and instincts in underneath zone.

And of course Kincaid will have an improvement plan on the off-season.

But neither coordinator has featured him and the bigger point is this team still lacks playmaking.

So when I hear Joe Marino say he’s seen enough to know that he wants Kincaid as the #2 option in the passing game next year, I think the opposite.

The work isn’t done, this team needs a Round 1 WR.

And he’s producing at a high level for a rookie TE? What does draft status have to do with it? His production has been congruent with the WR drafted ahead of him in RD1.

What do Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans and OBJ have to do with Dalton Kincaid?

    Answer: Absolutely nothing

    He made his argument.

He wants the top Tight End, not a guy who is pretty good.

I think Kincaid has been ok. But come on, he catches a ton of dump offs and zone-sits in the middle of the field.

He’s not a featured piece of the offense, he’s there as a background producer.

Now we’re 15 games into the season, and his season long is 22 yards, most games his long is 12-14 yards.

    So the hands - check

    Slippery in zones - check

Targeted on more advanced route tree - No

Playmaking after the catch - Not really

Average game for him is 4.4 catches, 35 yards a game - so agree with FireChans.

He’s compiled a lot of catches, but the way he was sold, there was expected to be more impact.

I agree with NewEra, and Kincaid said it - there will be a strength plan in the off-season so he can run with more power and take hits better and less awkwardly.

  9. At no point this season have I felt like he’s really been a focal point.

He almost got there in the middle of the season, but his average depth of target is just not advanced enough under Dorsey or Brady for me to really feel like he’s anything more than a place holder, a background piece in this offense.

They don’t view him as a weapon, he’s a simple outlet.

It’s not a role that has expanded whatsoever as the season has advanced, and now it’s 2-games left.

And I said this earlier in the season, sure I agree with others on this site about and his scouting reports - he’s smooth and slippery underneath, but you don’t see a lot of rugged running or real tackle breaking. He catches the ball and falls down a lot.

And Kincaid got asked about this and he pointed to this being something he’s going to work on in the off-season, I took it as he needs to work on his strength.

    The video vs the quote

Pretty different if you ask me

Basically saying the chiefs are all solid, well coached players that don't need to do anything fancy

Unlike when you have a guy like Jalen Ramsey where you scheme up hidden coverages or blitzes because you have a guy that you can leave one on one

Yeah sorry, not when he follows it up with I hope they take it and run with it and put it in their lockers.

This is Bengals fans showing up on our board last year and “educating” all Bills fans about how their team was superior and they said it’s because we respect you that we’re coming on this board and talking down to you.

That’s the personality of Chase and his loudmouth team.

If I remember correctly, he was throwing some shade at the bills before we played them this year as well

Chase is an extremely unlikable guy

    Yeah they all piled on.

Mixon with his “big dogs of the AFC”

Boyd ran his mouth about how the Bills were nothing special.

Burrow and his “better send those refunds” line.

Well the Chiefs will put a metal stake through their faces this week.

    See ya next year Ceasar.

Whatever happened with Damien Harris?  No update was ever given after he went on IR

There was a smaller website that claimed he was deciding on his future, and weeks later McDermott was asked about him, and he basically said the same thing, he’s deciding on what he wants to do.

So I don’t think we’ll see him the rest of the season.

Since Josh has this perception of being turnover prone and that seems to be the biggest thing people talk about with him, why is there not the same narrative about Trevor Lawrence? He has 8 games in his career (including today) where he has had 3+ turnovers. By comparison, Josh only has 5. Not only that, he has only 1 less turnover than Josh has since the start of 2022.

So how is it that turnovers are never really something mentioned with Lawrence? My guess is it has something to do with his draft status and him being a “can’t miss” prospect

Yes there has been a walking back from the analysts about how highly they had Lawrence coming out of Clemson.

He was the nations #1 QB coming out of High School, went toe to toe with prime Alabama, went #1 overall in a draft with Tua and Herbert, and there was an analyst on Fox Radio yesterday saying - well we never had him graded elite, he was always in the good tier.

I don’t think that’s the case. He got a pass in Year 1 because of Urban Meyer.

Year 2 he took a leap forward after the mid-season Broncos game.

This year there has been a bit of a regression in output, and he’s taken some injuries.

I think it’s too early to declare what his upside/ceiling is. He’s 24 years old.

The media is always looking to anoint the next big thing.

Their 2023 Hero got hurt in Training Camp and is now out for the year.

So now it’s a week by week reading back of the standings as they “educate” the fans on who is good and who isn’t.

ESPN had Lawrence as a 97 overall.

NFL had him at 7.40 “perennial All-Pro”

So I don’t buy this - we knew he was good, but we never had him elite kind of narrative.

Bailey Zappe and The undermanned 3-11 patriots just went into denver who had an extra day to prepare and beat them essentially knocking them out of the playoffs.

This is the nfl in 2023.  If the bills are not careful they will be in the same situation next week with new england.  The bills will need super josh to win next week.

I bet the giants are going to put a scare into the eagles tomorrow also.

They’ve clearly figured out a couple of things on offense since the 6-0 loss against the Chargers.

21, 17, 26 scored in their last three.

And this game was without Schuster and Stevenson.

  15. Saturday Night started by not being able to run the ball.

Punted 3x to start the game.

Didn’t get the run going until the last drive of the first half.

So I think that was the first half, lopsided TOP.

The second half was turnovers and penalties that slowed the team down.

I am concerned about Diggs not being able to get loose at all.

Kincaid has disappeared since the 1st half of the Eagles game and with 2-games left now, he’s been limited to dump-offs all year. Where is the playmaking?

Allen and the Bills reverted to playing again in that helter skelter style, Allen running around, plays out structure.

Things the Bills have going for them:

    1. The Offensive Line continuity

    2. Stable of useable running backs

    3. Allen felt like he bailed out of the pocket early a few times, but c

Things the Bills have to work on

    1. Where is the quick rhythmic passing game with Diggs and Kincaid? Couldn’t sustain drives, and haven’t seen that elite Diggs route-running paying off for several weeks now.

    2. Von Miller’s tape couldn’t have been good in film review. I watched him all game and he got pushed past the QB almost every play. The Bills are giving him every opportunity to turn back on.

The reality is we were lucky yesterday.  Josh was bad Josh until the last drive.  Cook had a pivotal fumble.  The defense let a guy with no experience in the league almost win the game for the Bolts.  The only guy that played really well was Oliver.

Just admit they sucked yesterday and got lucky.  They won’t be that bad every game; I suspect they’ll squish the Fish like Josh always does.  But they sucked yesterday and have too many times this year against inferior competition and that’s why they’re in the position they’re in.

The passing game is lethargic right now.

It’s not a well oiled machine throwing the ball.

On defense, have to hope Epenesa can get healthy, so that Von can take a seat on the bench.

Have to hope DaQuan can come back close to 85% - 90% and give the line a boost.

And I will agree with you that the local media was taking victory laps all week and predicting Super Bowl runs.

I just got home from watching the game live at SoFi. A few observations from the stands:

    • Not a good showing for offense or defense, IMO. They both allowed a crappy Chargers team to stay in the game.
    • What's up with Diggs? Has it been a few weeks now that he just seems off?
    • Gabe Davis looked like the best player on the field tonight.
    • Last week I was impressed with how well Joe Brady play-called. He found things that worked, and stuck with them. In this game, he found things that didn't work, and stuck with them anyway. That frikkin' jumbo package with Edwards in as a sixth OL-- always announced as an eligible receiver-- hand-off to the RB in whichever direction Edwards was taking up space for around two yards. It was infuriating. By the middle of the second quarter, I said to my 13yo, "they gotta stop running that play..." And they never did. Every time we'd hear the ref say over his mic, "number 76 has reported as an eligible receiver," my son, and I would look at each other in exasperation.
    • Having both Phillips, and Epenesa out was huge. Daquan Jones can't come back soon enough.
    • One thing that was pretty incredible, that I was not expecting: Bills fans literally outnumbered the Chargers fans, and were literally twice as loud. The players must have noticed this.

Yes, Phillips not in was noticeable.

But when I think back on the year has it always been that way, or more so after the Cowboys game?

    He’s 6’6” 350 so our biggest DT.
