  1. I think the Packers are going to struggle, and is an indication of poor cap/team roster management. Aaron Rodgers takes his $50M a year, Green Bay had few other offensive superstars to pay, and they couldn't get something done with Davante Adams? I think the Packers get credit for being a smart organization, but outside of Aaron Rodgers, I don't like how they draft, always defensive top heavy, they do nothing in Free Agency. What are they good at besides Aaron Rodgers? The Chiefs kept 2/3 of the trio intact, and did their best to replace Hill with Schuster, Scandling and Moore, but they're more beatable now. And at some point Kelce is going to start showing his age. He's 33 now. Also, Schuster has not been the same since his concussion against Cleveland. I think a #1 WR is important, and also important is the constant pouring of resources into weapons is necessary. It's why the Shakir pick had to happen. I think this correct. Brady in the 2006 AFC Championship Game with Jabaar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell as his Top 2 WRs.
  2. I'm not opposed to the Bills looking for ways to stockpile WR's.
  3. May Day - This is an excellent post. I agree with you on the gambling talk, and thank you for pointing out Bulldog's lack of effort. It was brought up in this message board that Audacy bought BetQL, and now we can see the constant commercial that Schopp and Bulldog has become. But it has gotten bad in the afternoon between gambling and constant conversation about Fantasy Football. I've always defended Schopp more so than Bulldog, because at least Schopp brings up the topics. He has a broader sense of opinions on the state of a league, trends in the league, what the data is telling you. Schopp does all the thinking for that show. Like I said, Bulldog is like Howard Simon, a guy who hasn't cared about being a professional for years, and for Bulldog, COVID was the excuse he needed to completely shut it down and hide behind that excuse to not come into the office. In a larger sense, it's my problem with American sports media now. I use to like Colin Cowherd. He talked about different cities in the United States, had opinions of jobs/careers, and of course, spoke on the bigger trends in sports. But now? It's an Aaron Rodgers or Russell Westbrook daily bash, a daily reminder of how Southern California takes big swings and doesn't accept mediocrity, or a generic summary of Bill Belichick, Andy Reid, Tom Brady. Dan Patrick is another guy that won't get out of the seat. Same show, same guests, same mannerisms everyday - yeah Paulie.....about 1,000 times per show. On the networks, it's still Skip Bayless screaming about LeBron James every chance he gets, and Stephen A Smith just mad about everything. Stuck with guys who have been in the same seat for 20+ years now. Getting back to WGR, I use to be engaged with the content and call in. But too many times the hosts give the guy who doesn't answer when they patch him in, they have to remind him that he's "on the air" as dead silence time racks up, and then he spits out a take summarizing something that nobody on the show said, or he just says something like "the Bills suck" and that guy gets 5 minutes to talk. Callers who are organized, and precise, they get run off the air, or don't get on as Schopp talks about the right way to pronounce Lando Calrissian.
  4. Quality. NFL makes it so fans see the best players in the world. It's why NBA rosters are 11 guys, and 7-8 play in the regular season, and 6-7 actually play in the Playoffs. Move down the depth chart one level, and the football is noticeably lower quality.
  5. Yup, grew up on him. My Dad always said he had an axe to grind with Ralph and the Bills, and he was a loudmouth. But this was before the internet, and he went the most in-depth on the mechanics of football than other hosts. He would host the Round Table trivia.
  6. The young kids all have the same schtick. Don't ever punt the ball, don't run the ball at all, when in doubt talk about Fantasy Football, and too much story telling on their single or newly married lives, which, in general leaves them out of touch with a good percentage of the listening audience.
  7. Bulldog is still doing the show at his house, always one story away from mass-panic on COVID, he looks forward to shutting it down. He's just like Howard, he shows up 2-minutes before the show starts, and let's Mike do all the thinking, all the topic setting, all the interviewing of guests. I agree with you Stads on Sal. He is definitely self-absorbed, constantly going back to his time in Florida, or talking about his only-child Max, always references statements he made in earlier conversations like people keep a record on them at all times to check what he said. Keep Sal in the limited doses he's in now.
  8. I'm not the biggest Howard fan. Never tried a strawberry, never had Watermelon, never had Peanut Butter, but is quick to point out constantly how out of shape he is, but has no desire to workout. He sounds like Bulldog is some respects. Like he wakes up, rolls out of bed, and just comes to the station 4 minutes before the show starts with no preparation. He uses out of date references to music and movies. In the end, he just strikes as a guy who takes the weakest swing at life you can.
  9. WR I don't think is low. Stefon Diggs is bottom side of the Top 10 WRs in the league. Gabe Davis has a shot to move up the board this year. Past that, Crowder is an average veteran, Shakir is a rookie, and McKenzie has never been trusted by this Coaching Staff for high percentage reps.
  10. I'm interested to see what the Bills envision Cook as. They've tried to cheaply address a pass-catching running back with veterans - TJ Yeldon, Matt Breida, signing JD McKissic. But there is no evidence that pass-catching RB's are a big part of the Bills offense. And why would I want that? Josh Allen dumping down more? I don't want the 2019 Carolina Panthers, where Christian McCaffery was their offense. Catching 116 passes, running the ball 287 times. It's the Saints dilemma now with Alvin Kamara dominating touches. It's 2007-2008 Buffalo Bills pop-gun football. The Bills got better immediately last year when they benched Moss, and picked the correct RB (Singletary) and fed him the ball when the chose to run.
  11. He's fringe-NFL, sticking around because of his Draft stock. McDermott loves these guys because of their "physicality" - Tolbert, Ivory, Gore, but they're slow as molasses.
  12. When McDermott got hired he banged the drum of Buffalo weather and physical run games. That’s how a defensive coordinator classically thinks about offense. Of course he isn’t doing that today, but I don’t think he’s Sean McVay either when it comes to offense, and I think at times his staff is slow to recognize players who are better in favor of veteran guys from his Week 1 Depth Chart.
  13. I’m glad he didn’t. He got his chance last year to be the #1 and he flopped. Would rather pay a rookie with 21-22 year old legs.
  14. Mike Tolbert Chris Ivory Frank Gore Kelvin Benjamin Interested in Greg Olsen John Brown Cole Beasley stunk last year Emmanuel Sanders who was out of gas by Week 7 last year You’re seeing it already with Jamison Crowder already on a bike This staff still tries to work these worn out veterans into starting positions. Gabe Davis being held back last season was eye opening. And for those that don’t point the finger at McDermott, you’re wrong because this GM routinely talks about getting type of players this Coaching Staff wants. McDermott is in the room when they break down off-season needs and positional assessments.
  15. What a shock, McKenzie is standing out. If only some people saw this for the past 2-3 years and pointed it out. McDermott still has this Defensive Coordinator bone in his body where he likes to play worn out veterans over up and coming players.
  16. Watkins also admitted recently that he got wasted every night in Buffalo and stayed up until all hours of the night. The guy was all hype.
  17. I don't think we know who the top opponent will be this year. The AFC is going to be an absolute gauntlet. The Chargers are going to be right there with Herbert in Year 3 now, of course the Chiefs, the Broncos now have Wilson, the Raiders have been aggressive, people have mentioned the Colts, then the North with a healthy Baltimore and Cincinnati. And that's assuming the Titans decline, Jacksonville/Lawrence doesn't take a large step forward, the Steelers decline and the Browns never get off the ground. Although the Chargers have a poor reputation for actually delivering on hype, I would think they are set to improve this year.
  18. I think they did, I just don't think it's something that sets the Bills apart from any other team in the league. Do the Bills veteran players do this more/better than other teams veterans? Can you prove it? Are the Bills meaningfully different than other teams when it comes to veteran mentoring of young players? And again, none of that teaching made a hills of beans difference until Josh Allen.
  19. I agree. During The Drought the Bills constantly talked like this. Always bugging guys like Steve Johnson to show someone like T.J. Graham how to be a WR. They did the same thing with TO and James Hardy. Chris Brown would always ask those softball questions to veterans about setting an "example" and showing the rookies what it takes. Ultimately, none of that mattered until we got a Quarterback with talent.
  20. There we go Bills! I didn’t think he would make it, but enough speed, enough size, enough production. To me, this puts a face lift on the entire draft, getting two weapons for Allen. And as a whole, athletes all around.
  21. The Bills should look to add one WR, maybe a Kevin Austin Jr out of Notre Dame.
  22. Pretty much all these third round linebackers are the same sort of build - 6’0 - 6’1” 220-230 pounds. He was productive and is athletic. The run on WRs was disappointing in the 2nd, especially KC getting Sky Moore, leading us to draft a part-time RB. The WR grades are off a cliff at this point. Now get back up OLine, CB, S. The WR idea vanished before our eyes.
  23. Jamison Crowder oh come on. The Bills have tried these broken down WRs and they’re shot by the time the Playoffs come.
