  1. I think this loss may very well be worse than the 2009 opener.
  2. You know me I am usually positive. This game feels the equivalent of Terry Silver beating Daniel up literally and then proceeding to sleep with his wife.
  3. I can’t believe McDermott still doesn’t learn anything with these DUMB defensive timeouts at the end of the game. What exactly does he think too when he calls them? All it does is let the other teams regroup and or let the kicker think more about how to make the FG. Especially in rainy conditions
  4. Too damn worried about giving up the big plays. we need a miracle now
  5. The timeouts were garbage but the Bills have to be due to win one of these overtime games. I mean right?
  6. Great choice. These were a few years I really liked the Eagles. To some extent it was due to Super Bowl burnout over the Bills and the fact the Eagles were and up and coming team in the NFC East and they hated the Cowboys as well. The week prior the Eagles had a really big win in Dallas. Where it looked like they got that monkey off their back and were easily going to win the NFC East. The Eagles made the playoffs that season but still kind of underachieved. It was a great win by Buffalo against a team with all the momentum in the world that day.
  7. My aunt always hosted in my family and it was kind of always on the more formal side. Like I'd feel out of place not wearing a dress shirt tucked in with a belt. Not really a lot of memories tbh. Maybe my cousin and I going in his room and making fun of all our family as kids. Until one day I sort of realized I became what I was making fun of 😐
  8. You reminded me I recall watching an episode where the Gang tries out for the Eagles. Found it. That is Hilarious 😂
  9. This week’s Bills opponent made me think of this series. I’m very surprised to learn they still make new episodes! I did try to watch the first couple seasons and thought a lot of it was hilarious. I thought it was kind of like Seinfeld except it takes place in Philly and the characters were even worse as people but funnier! Nevertheless I never really stuck with it. This scene was hilarious
  10. Also followed by a 1-15 season I believe
  11. I get that. But I thought we sort of moved past the moral victory days
  12. More optimistic for sure than last week but I would need to see a strong effort and win next week as well
  13. It's my Father's ancestry. I went to a Hungarian bakery this morning that re-opened not far from where I grew up. The road down memory lane there was nice. Someone was even talking to me about Transylvania a little. I know in Cleveland there at least was a big population with Hungarian ancestry. Not sure how well represented Buffalo was by this demographic
  14. In general I think message boards kind of yield the vent mentality. Especially after bad losses. It's like when you hear someone say Shoot Me Now. I mean usually the person is just venting. I mean usually...
  15. Well November 13th will be a Tuesday next year so probably no Bills game. Which is good! Anyway by that date next year we will be discussing the Mets victory World Series parade 😉
  16. Which ironically was November 13th last year as well and is ironically my birthday. The Bills bring me such happiness 😟
  17. It's a league that tries to repress individuality more and more in general. I mean heck didn't Josh get some stupid taunting penalty and fine last week.
  18. After the Dallas 07 debacle I was upset the whole week. After the winning FG by the Broncos I went right to sleep just like yeah whatever. A combination of me getting older and all the aforementioned with the Bills. Maybe it will stir things up now
  19. He can date or be best friends with Taylor Swift, Bob the Drag Queen, or the biggest adult entertainment star in the world today for all I care. So be it he still brings it on the football field. Im not sure the Hollywood girlfriend is a distraction…. but I think it’s fair to question it
  20. Yeah my Dad who is in his early 70s was going to go to his college roommates door and knock on it after 40 plus years of no contact. I suggested to him you know could that be considered stalking and thought social media would be the better option! He couldn’t find his old friend on it though. He hasn’t actually done it yet but his thought was I’m not going be on the planet much longer. Why not? To some extent I understand his logic. He’s more open now to friendships with old classmates than he used to be. I think he said he joined a Facebook group for his high school graduating class or something like that
  21. I found out this week a friend I had in middle school's dad died recently at age 71. It's what triggering this thread for me. We had fun/good times back in the day. Which is like 25 years ago already. But I haven't talked to him since. It's not that we stopped talking because we were on bad terms with each other. It was more we went to separate high schools and we forever lost touch with each other. I'm not a big social media person and I don't think he is either. In this case no I wouldn't consider myself his friend but hearing about his Dad though legit felt like a gut punch. I remember briefly meeting his dad way back when. Was a charismatic/nice guy.
  22. I hear that. I did a little more leg work on Mendoza's background..... My gut feeling now is the front office wants someone they can dictate their analytics/strategies too as a manager that won't really question their decision making. Like this dude is real happy to land a high profile job like this and won't make waves so to speak. Hope I'm wrong
  23. @ExWNYer @SinceThe70s @Gugny Well this hire came out of left field completely to me anyway. I'm assuming Craig Counsell didn't want to leave Milwaukee. But my first honest reaction on hearing the news was Carlos Mendoza..... Okay. Who The Hell Is This Guy? I'm assuming you will all have some strong and entertaining opinions on this topic!
  24. Agree. But I'd like to think his heart was pure. Pure being an ironic word when describing Bob Knight! But more or less imparting his style on them to prepare these kids for a world that will easily chew anyone up and spit them out.
