I dont blame the OP or any other fan that still thinks what could have been kind of thing.... But my guess is most of the present Bills players are sort of oblivious to it for the most part? I mean they've heard of it but it's like this is before my generation kind of thing. Von Miller at 34 years old is the oldest player on the roster. He was not even 2 years old when it went down.

It does make me marvel sometimes how hitting 60 yard field goals today isn’t really outside the norm anymore. A reason why I have Steve Christie as my avatar. It was exciting in those days as a kid to see him drill 50 plus yard field goals consistently. I want to say he was one of the first field goals kickers who was consistent at that distance

Did you ever read The Bad Guys Won by Jeff Pearlman? It chronicled the 1986 team. That’s where a lot of my knowledge of them came from. In my opinion it came off a little on the tabloidish side but a decent and quick read Only hesitation I’d have on Counsel is he doesn’t exactly strike me as a New York kind of guy. But I agree he knows his stuff Yeah read this https://nypost.com/2023/10/03/cubs-will-do-everything-they-can-to-land-mets-pete-alonso/amp/

I thought Mookie was a clean living guy. Yeah Davey J was before my time but would you agree Bobby V got more out of his teams than Davey did?

@ExWNYer @Gugny @SinceThe70s A very sort of pass the work day exercise for me. I’ll probably watch very little or none of the baseball playoffs. But I’m wondering if you guys have a memory of a Mets team that missed out on making the playoffs because of 3 Wild Cards now and coulda done damage. I was in 8th grade but I remember the 1997 Mets were a fun team. Under this new format the 98, 07, and 08 teams woulda make the playoffs. But they were kinda coming apart at the seams by the end of the year. And the 2021 Mets didn’t do much in the playoffs So I’d go the 1997 purely on memory without analyzing it too much. I mean the Marlins won that year

Yeah I mean even if say the camera goes on her and she moons the TV.... it would all just go viral in matter of seconds. But then again you might be surprised

@SinceThe70s @ExWNYer @Gugny Well outside of the Tre White injury this was a real good sports Sunday! Eppler deserves some blame but Buck imo was the number one culprit of why the team had such a poor year. Having said that I don't dislike him the man and am glad he got to say goodbye with dignity showed to him. Jury is very much still out on the future but at least this shows Cohen is going to do what he thinks is necessary at the end of the day to win.

Haha that story is awesome. I know there was a Playboy with Geri Halliwell (Sexy or Ginger Spice) I was half tempted to do that with. But for nostalgia I bought and still own the copy off eBay. Yeah sometimes in high school it really bothered me how other kids would cheat on tests and what not. Then I grew up and I have to think some of that is on the teacher for being dumb and naive

This was a good game but Dolphins at Bills 2009 is one of my favorite drought games. If I recall Jauron just got the ax and Fewell I think was the interim coach? Anyway, his aggressive play calling I think won the Bills that game late. And I recall a Fitz to TO touchdown which kind of sealed the deal

I did a few years ago. I want to say I started a thread on it but cant recall. Was okay from what I remembered. I think most of the film was shot in Canada not Buffalo.

OT…Have sports debate shows run their course?

ESPN I never really watched much in the 21st century. WFAN in New York I listened to as a teenager and in my 20's. From I'd say early 2000's to early 2010s. I used to find it pretty informative and entertaining but now its insufferable. -
Watson isn’t a good man and it looks like not a good football player anymore But the hit to Nick Chubbs knee was on the dirty side

Agreed. Ironically I hit the beer mug for your post but figured a trophy was more appropriate 😊 -
Nice to see Big Dan get a big hit today. I mean I’m thinking he’s not back next year so a nice memory for him. One of my first online friends is from Cincy. Seems this is the first time in forever the Reds won the yearly record 4-2). Another friend was the clincher in Cincy for the NL East in 2015. I don’t think I’ll watch any playoff games but yeah I like the Reds. I’ll follow them a little down the stretch

Raiders at Bills 1990 AFC Championship Game
Another Fan replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've watched this game several times as I think it's like mandatory viewing for Bills fans if they weren't born yet or old enough to appreciate it. But someone posted a Bills/Raiders game earlier that season where the Bills came back late in the game. Which was kind of eye opening as the impression I had of the AFC Championship game was it was a formality the Bills would win that day -
The Brewers are in first place now and will most likely win the central Division. I mean I don't know for sure but I want to say they are usually a solid team despite operating at a significantly payroll than say the Mets or Yankees. I agree with you about Stearns. My issue isnt so much him personally versus how baseball has evolved. Like for me this year my biggest frustration this year was I don't think Buck pushes/nags/gets on any of the players cases when the results have been well very disappointing this season. Like the team just walks through the motions. Hence the nostalgia posting that Terry Collins clip. But at the same time I'm stubbornly acknowledging this is what the future of the game is and the managers control is shrinking. So yeah if Stearns is what is needed so be it. We all want to see the team competitive at the end of the day

Lol. As much as a lukewarm feeling Scherzer left in my mouth, I wouldn’t wish that on him. Ditto Aaron Rodgers. Time even kinda caught up with Tom Brady

I say Like A Virgin by Madonna so he could discover again his initial love for the game

Beltran just sort of seems to never really go away does he? 😅 I know you are a skeptic of Johann's no hitter. Look whose hit caused the controversy.

Donald Jones saved the day

It was ironically the home opener in Week 2 that year as well. It’s probably in my top 10 favorite Bills games of all time and one of my favorite endings. I’ll be the first to admit outside of beating the Patriots next week…. In the grand scheme of things the game itself led to nothing. But coming back down I believe 3 Touchdowns was real exciting. As was the final drive and final TD on 4th down. I think it’s the game Fitz screamed after wards as well. Was a good time in my life as well starting a new job at the time after months of unemployment.
