  1. It doesn't mean they won't trade their first round pick in next years draft.
  2. If we got Ronde for Henry...and traded Nate for #9. I would have to make sure I could trade down with someone first. If not I would ask for the 1st rounder to be in 2006.
  3. I might get crucified for saying this. Never mind Im not going to say it. Do you think that Matt Jones will be drafted in the bottom of round 1 or early 2nd. Are am I way off base.
  4. I think if Greg wants him that Gibbs will pull the trigger. I assume Snyder will do what Gibbs suggests.
  5. It looks like we can put the Nate trade talk to bed...sort of

  7. It in print somewhere else besides this board. I am sorry if someone else posted this before or if its old news. Rumor to report today centers around the Washington Redskins...the Redskins who own the Drafts ninth pick overall are reportedly considering making a move to strengthen the team's CB position before the Draft in two weeks...the team reportedly would feel more confident in a veteran starting Corner over one of the upcoming Drafts top rookie prospects...the Redskins could become a "player" in the Patrick Surtain sweepstakes and trump the Chiefs offer to the Dolphins for Surtain...however...the veteran Corner that the Redskins apparently covet is Bills CB Nate Clements...Clements has one year left on his existing contract and will become an unrestricted Free Agent at the end of the 2005 season unless Clements and the Bills can work out a deal before then...it's highly unlikely since Clements will be looking to be paid as the highest rated Corner to hit the market in Free Agency which will include a hefty signing bonus...Bills GM Tom Donahoe has a history of not over spending on a player for the sake of his teams Cap....the Bills don't own a First Round pick in the upcoming Draft because it was sent to Dallas as part of the 2004 Draft day trade which enabled the team to land their QB of the future J.P. Losman...Redskins Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams drafted Clements in the first round in 2001 in Williams first year as the Bills Head Coach...stay tuned!!!!! http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/2005PreDraft.html
  8. One thing to consider...James will cost three times as much as Henry. And he is not three times better. He also has taken alot more pounding.
  9. After reading all these posts...can we trade for this guy
  10. Why would we trade for a guy we cut.
  11. Thats what the raiders did.(franchise) 10.5 million for Woodsen for one year guaranteed money. Next year it will be even more if we franchise Nate. Now the Raiders are desperatley trying to trade him.
  12. Maybe not but close to it. The prices for cornerbacks this offseason skyrocketed higher than for the receivers they cover. While the top receivers in free agency received around $4 million a year, top cornerbacks received $5 million or more. Despite the emphasis on illegal contact, cornerbacks are still in high demand around the NFL. Next year's free agent cornerback class is going be thin. Nate Clements of the Bills is the only sure bet and tops the class. Charles Woodson of the Raiders is technically a free next year but he is an unsigned franchise player looking for a long-term deal. Patrick Surtain of the Dolphins is free but he is awaiting a trade and a long-term deal. So the question heading into this offseason was whether cornerbacks would be devalued? After all, if a shutdown cornerback goes against a team's best receiver under the current emphasis of rules, quarterbacks will make that throw every time. Single coverage in a contact-free zone is golden for receivers such as Marvin Harrison. Will illegal contact affect the contracts cornerbacks are given and their status in the draft? The answer heading into the April 23 draft is "not in the least." If anything, teams are getting even more desperate for coverage specialists. The prices for cornerbacks this offseason skyrocketed higher than for the receivers they cover. While the top receivers in free agency received around $4 million a year, top cornerbacks received $5 million or more. http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/ESPNSports/story?id=676021
  13. Is it worth putting that much money in one player. If not your better off trading him during this draft. Like getting a second in this years draft and a first in next years. Or you can franchise him and hope someone ponies up two firsts or just pay him for the one year with the franchise tag.
  14. TD..."If I were in the top 10 picks, I might just pass if I couldn't trade it. I'm serious. You'll have to pay $17 million, $18 million in a signing bonus for the top guy." Yeah sure you would...I could just see this board now. If the Bills had the #9 pick. With the 9th pick in this NFL draft the Buffalo Bills pass... The Detroit Lions are on the clock.
  15. Don't forget Gibbs loves veterans....And Snyder knows Gibbs won't be coaching very long. I don't think he will be here in two or three years. About the time it takes for these draftees to blossom.
  16. I lost a little interest in the draft because we don't have a first round pick. I'll watch it here and there but won't glued to the tube like last year. But now Im getting more excited knowing its draft day . And TD loves to be on center stage. I expect for him to try like hell to get in the first round. If we don't it won't be for a lack of effort.
  17. Good read...thanks

  24. Somehow I think the guy is going to make out in the end. Just get an attorney involved and he will come away with $something$
