  1. Or can he be had in the third . Strengths:* Has a lot of experience and comes from a program known for producing good pro linemen... Quick...Very competitive and can be downright nasty at times...Strong...Very smart and aware on the field of play... Tireless worker who always gives 100%...Displays great technique. *Weaknesses:* Needs to continue getting bigger and adding bulk with his size being the biggest question mark... Has only marginal pure athletic ability...Struggles when asked to get downfield. *Notes:* The best offensive lineman the Wolverines have produced since Steve Hutchinson... Could project to either guard or center in the pros...There isn't a lot not to like about this guy and he should be starting for someone very early on in his pro career. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/playerpro.../davidbaas.html
  2. Your right...he might get off the hook...and maybe for good reason. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7100060/

  4. Nobody...he was waived by the Giants.
  5. The Ravens had targeted Rick DeMulling, but a league source said he priced himself out of the team's range yesterday. Another viable option, Roberto Garza, failed a physical with the Ravens on Wednesday. Wasting little time - which has become the mantra of the Ravens this offseason - they moved quickly on Vincent, 26, who was widely considered the best remaining guard available behind DeMulling.
  6. The most glaring hole is at guard, where the Packers must replace standouts Marco Rivera and Mike Wahle. A few days after losing out to Cleveland with former Buccaneer Cosey Coleman, Green Bay brought in Seattle tackle Floyd “Pork Chop” Womack on Thursday for a Friday visit. Womack was a fourth-round draft choice in 2001 by new Packers general manager Ted Thompson while he was in Seattle. Womack played both tackle spots for Seattle — he’s started 20 games at left tackle and two at right tackle — but at 6-foot-4 and 333 pounds, he’s got the size to be a powerful player at guard. Womack’s destination is mainly in the hands of the Buffalo Bills, with whom Womack spent most of Thursday. Buffalo earlier in the week lost left tackle Jonas Jennings. Since tackles generally command more money than guards, the Bills likely would outbid the Packers if they’re interested in Womack. Womack’s flexibility would create some options for the Packers. Another 330-pounder, Kevin Barry, is a natural tackle who’s a candidate to play guard. With a pair of 330-pound guards, the Packers likely would turn to more of a power running game than they used with the athletic Wahle able to attack the defense’s flanks. The Packers also could move starting right tackle Mark Tauscher inside and replace him with Barry or Womack.
  7. All of a sudden a couple of very good running backs appear available for a trade. Buffalo's Travis Henry has been on the trading block the longest period of time. Now, Indianapolis' Edgerrin James and Seattle's Shaun Alexander are possible trade targets. I know James and Alexander are two of the best backs in the NFL, and Henry is no slouch, but with all of these options and three running backs in the draft rated in the top 10 players, the asking price may never be met by teams looking for a ball carrier. Personally, I don't have a problem with a running back on a one-year franchise tag salary as long as they show up for work. These guys get hurt more often than left tackles, and even quarterbacks. Sometimes a long-term financial investment for a running back is dangerous business. The concept of trading these star athletes is understandable, so I asked a few front-office executives what they would give up for guys like James, Alexander and Henry. Keep in mind, James and Alexander combined for 3,897 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2004, and both men are still in their 20s. The consensus answer was two second-round picks. One personnel director said a late first-round pick this year and a third. Henry was in a different area and no one felt he was in the same ballpark. The immediate reaction is that these guys are worth more than any of those ideas. But when you factor in the franchise tag price of $6.3 million, that is eating up the Colts' and Seahawks' salary cap. I may be time to consider a "lower" offer than true value in order to build up the rest of the team. I get asked every day why the agent is given permission to facilitate a trade. Why don't the clubs' general managers negotiate the deal and leave the agents out of the whole thing? Because the club that is interested in trading for the player has to know if they can strike a long-term deal. This is especially true with James, Alexander and Henry. No GM will give up players or draft picks if all he is getting is someone else's headache. This will be an interesting few days to see if a deal can actually get done to move any of these running backs
  8. NY Giants The release of Hilliard came after the eight-year veteran refused to take a big pay cut, agent Neal Schwartz said. The seventh pick overall in the 1997 draft, Hilliard was scheduled to make $1.5 million next season along with a $750,000 roster bonus to be paid on March 15. Schwartz said three teams have expressed an interest in signing the 28-year-old Hilliard, who 4,630 receiving yards are seventh in club history.

  10. I thought he was in his 30's. But he is only 28. why did the Giants cut him ? Anyways here's what Accorsi says: I think anyone who has been in the National Football League as long as I have has an unofficial list in his mind of his all-time favorite players. Ike Hilliard is near the top of mine," Accorsi said. "(He is) a pure professional, clutch player, warrior and extraordinary person. I don't think I have ever admired any player I've been around more than Ike." Hillaird: "I'll either resurface somewhere or if no one wants me to play ball for them, my life will go on," the 28-year-old Hilliard said. "But I'm looking forward to staying in shape and playing some more good football."
  11. I know he is not the greatest TE...But having him on our special teams would have a big impact.

  17. He said the of the main reasons he signed with the Bills...was so he could learn from the best...Jim Mcnally. Lets hope thats a plus this year in attracting FA linemen.
  18. If Cal QB Aaron Rodgers is the first pick in the draft, the 49ers would have made a major reach. I like Aaron. I felt he was a very underrated last year, but he is the winner of the “I was underrated award, but now my skill set is overemphasized.” In my opinion, no QB in this class would rank higher than the top 3 last year (Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, and Ben Roethlisberger), however, I am not sold that Rodgers is a better prospect than J.P. Losman. In many ways, I am not sure he is a top 15 pick. He is a well coached QB with terrific footwork and a good release. His mechanics are pretty consistent as well, but the guy is not a premier talent. His decision making in the short area is still questionable as is his overall arm. He is going to benefit from USC’s Matt Leinart and Bowling Green’s Omar Jacobs staying in school. http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=118&p=2&c=358430
  19. That is Mike Williams...I think they screwed up. Or maybe not.

  21. There has been massive fallout in the trade market for the Denver Broncos' Reuben Droughns and Buffalo's Travis Henry. While there hasn't been much response in trade value for Droughns since the Broncos put him on the block after the season, Henry's top suitors (Arizona and Miami) appear to have lost interest. The central issue has been the robust running back crop in the draft, where it appears quality prospects will be available into the third round. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oD...=yhoo&type=lgns
