  1. Theres a possibility the Vikings might jump ahead of the Cards. The Vikings admit they will fib if necessary to conceal their plans for the NFL draft, which still is nearly seven weeks away. But already there is speculation they might trade up to choose a running back they can rely on. Team officials say it's not inconceivable. That probably would require that the Vikings combine their Nos. 7 and 18 overall selections to move up to No. 2 or No. 3. The Miami Dolphins own the No. 2 pick, the Cleveland Browns No. 3. Expected to be available at No. 2 is running back Cedric Benson of Texas. Auburn running backs Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown are expected to be available within the top eight picks. Dennis Green's Arizona Cardinals hold the No. 8 pick.

  4. Thats great...I thought he has come and gone already. Maybe he will leave with a contract .
  5. This is definitely worth a bump.
  6. Its a very loose interview and pretty funny. JP said if your going to throw a parade for somebody . You better make sure that person can play before the parade starts. They asked him if JP meant Jumbo Penis .enjoy !!! ps...its rated PG http://www.buffalobills.com/player/?FILE_3...&proto=rtsp
  7. Update: Trade talks involving Henry for Arizona tackle L.J. Shelton seem to have cooled, according to The Sports Xchange. Recommendation: Arizona coach Dennis Green is looking for a feature back, but the word is he's not completely enamored with Henry. The trade isn't dead yet and the Bills could also make a run at tackle Anthony Clement, another guy possibly on the way out, but nothing will happen if Green decides he wants to use the team's No. 1 draft pick on one of the stud running backs coming out of college http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=roto...owire&type=lgns
  8. NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - How long a man's second finger is relative to his fourth finger appears to predict whether he is prone to be physically aggressive toward others, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. But it's not finger length that causes aggression, study author Allison A. Bailey warned in an interview. She explained that the important factor is the male hormone testosterone. Fetuses are exposed to various levels of this hormone in the womb, and research shows that men who were exposed to higher levels tend to have shorter second fingers, relative to their fourth fingers. "More testosterone, relatively longer ring finger," co-author Dr. Peter L. Hurd told Reuters Health. Men with shorter second fingers were probably exposed to more testosterone in the womb, and this may cause them to be more prone to physical aggression later in life, Bailey explained. "More testosterone in the womb predicts more physical aggression in men," she told Reuters Health. Alternatively, both testosterone exposure and finger length may be influenced by a "deeper third variable," Hurd noted. Regardless, the study shows that "events in the womb can have subtle effects on children's personality," Hurd added. This is not the first study to link the ratio between a man's second and fourth fingers to his personality, Bailey noted. Previous reports have found that men with smaller ratios - meaning, their second finger is much smaller than their fourth - tend to do better in sports, and are perceived as more dominant and masculine by women. However, other research has shown that men with smaller second-to-fourth finger ratios are at higher risk of autism and immune deficiency. To investigate how finger ratios match up with physical aggression, Bailey and Hurd measured the finger ratios in 298 psychology students, and asked them to complete a questionnaire measuring aggression. The questionnaire measured four types of aggression, Bailey noted: physical ("if someone hits me, I hit back"), anger ("I flare up quickly"), hostility ("I am often eaten up by jealousy"), and verbal ("I tell my friends when I disagree with them"). The researchers found that shorter second-to-fourth finger ratios predicted proneness to physical aggression, but not other types of aggression, and only in men, not in women. In general, men had smaller finger ratios than women, the authors report in the journal Biological Psychology. Bailey cautioned that these findings only link a shorter finger ratio to a tendency toward physical aggression, and do not show that men with shorter ratios are actually more aggressive. "Somebody might never have acted on anything," she said. Moreover, behavior is influenced by many other factors, Bailey added. Finger ratios are "just one piece of the puzzle," she said.
  9. I read Rick DeMulling was in Buffalo yesterday....Anyone hear how that meeting went ?
  10. Why would the Vikings trade both first round picks to get in the top of the draft. Then select a RB. When they could just give up a second to take Henry. Ted Cottrell must not be a big Travis Henry fan or he only has a say in the defensive side of the ball......ala Cowart , Fat Pat and Winfield. Vikings could trade up for RB The Vikings admit they will fib if necessary to conceal their plans for the NFL draft, which still is nearly seven weeks away. Dennis Green's Arizona Cardinals hold the No. 8 pick. • There has been talk that Green might try to trade with the Vikings for oft-injured Michael Bennett, whom he coached at Minnesota. Bennett said he hasn't heard those rumors. "Are you sure they're just rumors?" a curious Bennett asked. "We'll see." Meanwhile, former Vikings running back Larry Ned, after being acquired by Green's Cardinals the other day, was arrested at a Phoenix airport for allegedly stealing a passenger's laptop computer, according to the Arizona Republic. Police found Ned hiding in a bathroom. The Cardinals released him later in the day. • Some people believe the Vikings' best chance to move up in the draft would be with the Chicago Bears, who have the No. 4 pick. With that pick, the Vikings could choose Braylon Edwards, the Michigan wide receiver, to replace Randy Moss. • The Tampa Buccaneers have made several inquiries about kicker Jay Feely, the Atlanta Falcons free agent who attended elementary school in Rosemount. The Falcons want to re-sign Feely, grandson of former College of St. Thomas basketball coach Tom Feely. Jay Feely would love to kick for the Vikings, who need a kicker but haven't expressed interest. http://www.duluthsuperior.com/mld/duluthsu...ll/11061954.htm
  11. Bad stretch The end of David Terrell means the Bears batted .250 in top draft picks between 1998-2001. Only Brian Urlacher remains as Terrell joined Curtis Enis and Cade McNown on the failure list. There are other teams with similar poor averages. The Arizona Cardinals have only Leonard Davis to show for those four years. The Buffalo Bills have only Nate Clements. The Green Bay Packers have only Bubba Franks. The San Diego Chargers have only LaDainian Tomlinson. The Carolina Panthers have Dan Morgan. Two teams are worse. The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have no players left from those four drafts when most good teams collected their nucleus. The Indianapolis Colts selected Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James, Rob Morris and Reggie Wayne, for example. The Philadelphia Eagles picked Tra Thomas, Donovan McNabb, Corey Simon and Freddie Mitchell. If Marc Colombo can't come back from injury, the Bears' five-year record between 1998-2002 puts them with the Chiefs and Dolphins at the bottom of draft futility_one in five. The Bears, however, have done a better job of collecting recycled top picks from other teams. They have the 1998 No. 1 pick of the San Francisco 49ers, R.W. McQuarters, the 1999 No. 1 pick of the Chiefs, John Tait, and the 2000 No. 1 pick of the Cardinals, Thomas Jones.
  12. Why not have a top ten pick and a top corner. You can sign Ty Law cheaper than Clements and then trade Clements for a first. Then you still have a top corner and a first round pick to boot. or trade Travis for Woodsen then trade Clements for a first round pick. or If the Raiders release Woodsen outright...sign either him or Law then trade Clements for a first round pick.
  13. To play for the Vikings...Gee I wonder why. Even after signing nose tackle Pat Williams, the Vikings remained $31 million under the salary cap as of Friday afternoon.
  14. The recent emphasis on limiting contact with receivers and the effectiveness of the cover-two defense has changed the game. It's not that cornerbacks are no longer valuable. But the days of them being the highest-paid defensive players might be over. Ask Mike Shanahan. The Denver Broncos coach traded running back Clinton Portis to the Washington Redskins for Champ Bailey, the league's top cornerback, before last season. Anybody who watched the Raiders' 25-24 win in Denver last season saw Moss' new wingman, Jerry Porter, torch Bailey repeatedly, which wasn't as uncommon a sight this year as it has been in the past. The New England Patriots stymied potent Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts and went on to win their third Super Bowl in four years with starting cornerbacks Ty Law and Tyrone Poole on the bench and two rookie cornerbacks in the starting lineup. http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctime...ts/11039463.htm
  15. If we sign him....by next year the franchise tag price will be a tad higher than this. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c...SPGGTBIBOT1.DTL
  16. Buyer beware: Stockar McDougle, T, Detroit. Tons of ability but makes too many mistakes. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...39?OpenDocument Maybe McNally can repair him.
  17. A while back, I heard a story that will affect you: The average person lives out 75 years. Now, if you multiply 75 years times 52 weeks, you come up with 3,900 weeks of life. That’s it. That’s all the average person has. Then I thought, hell, I’m 58. Which means I have roughly 884 weekends left. Eight hundred and eighty four weeks? Damn! Talk about a wake up call. Brothers and sisters, it seems it’s all over in the blink of an eye. So let’s be more selfish with who, or where, we spend our precious time. With 884 weekends left, I now only do things that make my heart and soul feel satisfied. I take that trip, buy that car, call that friend, tell that special someone I love them when they least expect it. Pay attention to the really important things in life. Be the guy who tells the joke, not the recipient of the punch line. Be the predator, not the food source. Gorge yourself at that banquet of life until the only thing left on the table are crumbs. In other words, you’re an army of one. So, it’s up to you to either lead the charge with conquest on your mind... or sound the trumpets of retreat. If you’re reading this magazine, you’re already hitting the ground running. Enjoy the first issue.
  18. I say that about reality TV...who watches this crap. But I am going to check out the contender this week.
