I'm done with Tyrod Taylor

Ummm... what? Honestly are you just trolling at this point? I would love to talk football, but coherent and cohesive posts are necessary for that. Honestly are you watching the plays unfold or relying on commentary? -

Ummm... what? Dude, what were you watching? There's a play he's rolling to his left that's pretty clearly designed to #42 where O'Leary comes open in the middle of the field. Taylor sees him and doesn't throw it and goes back to #42. Why? Probably because the difficulty of that throw to O'Leary was significantly higher considering the way he was running and the defenders running straight at him and the goal was just to get a first down and #42 would have had that if he could have held onto the damn ball. What the All-22 confirms is that there may be a couple plays where Taylor could have thrown it to another guy, but our guys were blanketed by Panthers defenders. I really don't know what All-22 you're watching -
Hmmm... fascinating... other than replacing the words "shrugs off" with the word "eludes" this sounds very much like a QB you hate. Again, so interesting that people throw out this losing Olsen excuse despite the fact that he was targeted twice in all his time on the field for 1 reception for 10 yards. And yeah, you can say he missed most of the game all you want, except he was there for the entire first quarter and the Panthers ran 22 offensive plays in that quarter alone. Newton still had Benjamin and Funchess who he's built chemistry with over years and throw in an "Elite" rookie hybrid and this hypocritical excuse is pretty comical. Newton was fortunate enough often late to find WRs wide friggin open in the middle of the field while wildly missing guys on more than one occasion and that's something he's done over the course of his entire career. It's not just yesterday.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Welcome to the NFL
transplantbillsfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice post, Shaw. As usual. I know everyone thinks the sky is falling, but do people realize how seriously good the Panthers front 7 is? The Panthers have an Elite D... especially the front 7. I'm still kind of scratching my head a little at our offensive gameplan. You're playing an Elite front 7 so you stick with the run game? I get that Shady is one of the best backs in the NFL, but the run and pass game should be called to work together to open each other up, better. From what I recall in the first half, almost every designed pass was a short pass. That pass to the left sideline to Clay that gained like 2 yards was infuriating. Then, we get into the 2nd half and the passing game opens up a little. And we get to the final drive and we look like an NFL offense. I know folks will say something about the Panthers letting us get that yardage because of a prevent defense, and maybe there's a little something to that, except for the fact that they weren't exactly defending the sidelines very well. It honestly felt like we were going to score a TD on that drive. Then we get a late flag on a questionable, at best, OPI against Holmes. I thought it was a bad call, but whatever. We still had a great play called on a 4th and 11 and almost came away with the win. That last pass could have been placed a little better for sure. But Taylor threw the ball pretty much where it needed to be since there was a CB lurking beneath Jones ready to intercept the pass if Taylor threw it shorter and to the sideline to lead the rook. Plus, Jones stumbled a bit. He still could have caught that ball. He probably would have been short of the end zone because he would have fallen, but we would have had one more play. We needed more offensive production earlier in the game. That was on every player on offense and on Dennison. I think this was the lowest of the low we see from our offense all season. We can't get much lower than what we saw yesterday, so I think that's pretty reasonable. On the flip side, GOD I hope that resembles our Defense for the rest of this season! If our D can be a top 10 or a top 5 D, the sky isn't falling on this team and I still think hope springs at least a couple more months for playoffs. Man... I'm excited about our secondary. I think White, Gaines, Hyde and Poyer (what a find that guy was!!!) are a pretty solid secondary to contribute behind a pretty excellent front 7. Even though our Offense was boring and atrocious yesterday, our D was legitimately fun to watch. -

I'm guessing this is sarcasm, but Newton was pretty awful yesterday, so it shouldn't be all that shocking that Taylor got higher grades than Newton. The Bills just weren't throwing the football much especially in the first half. And when those pass plays were called, you could see that they were designed short passes. Like what the hell was that short out route to the sideline to Clay that gained like 2 yards?! Clay was clearly the first read. I don't know if in film study Dennison just decided not to attack the middle of the field from the beginning because of Kuechly and Davis, but that's how it looked. And the results were ridiculously short passes to the sidelines not designed for any YAC to start the game. When the 2nd half began, you could see there was some adjustment as the Bills finally started attacking other areas of the field, and the passing game progressed. By contrast, Newton had a number of big passing plays and pretty much EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM was to a WIDE OPEN WR. I mean, is that even a question? Sure, there was a pass or two he put in a tight window. Otherwise EVERY SINGLE BIG PASSING PLAY was to a wide open guy. It's great that he completed those passes if you're a Panthers fan, but notching those as spectacular or great passes by Newton is ridiculous. And then, to top it off, he just blatantly missed a whole bunch of WRs, including a pass that had to be one of the easier NFL throws you can make to a(nother) WIDE OPEN Christian McCaffery on the last drive inside the 10 that would have iced the game for the Panthers. Taylor wasn't good yesterday, but neither was Newton. And saying Newton was worse than Taylor is certainly reasonable. -
You know this, how? DId you hear how downtrodden and critical Cam was about his own inaccuracy after the game? Are we even talking about the same play? I'm talking about the one where the Panthers were inside the 10 and Newton rolled to his right a little and threw the ball very high to a WIDE OPEN Christian McCaffery. Is that the play you're talking about? That was the one I was referring to.

Does your life really suck this much? You're becoming a nasty and hateful poster. Maybe you're the one who needs to step away for awhile. I already set the parameters for the bet. You in? -

Hypocrite because you tell me constantly not to keep or get dumb arguments going with certain posters and should instead just ignore them like you ignore Jm. Yet you're constantly poking and prodding Jm in the same confrontational manner you criticize so much. Clearly hypocritical -
Olsen was there most of the game dude. And on top of Olsen he has an Elite WR in Benjamin, a supposedly Elite rookie hybrid in McCafferry who he flat MISSED on a wide open TD that would have made our final 2 minute drive garbage time and other WRs like Funchess who've been good in the league. And are you serious about their D? Their front 7 might be the best in football, yet we decided running on that front 7 was the best game plan even after it wasn't working for over half the game. So stupid.

Not a petty bet, brah. You keep saying stuff like this. "The end is near." How near? Don't make definitive statements when you don't have a clue. And if your response is that you're obviously more right than I am, it's a simple bet without long term consequences. What's the problem? Or not confident in a single game? How about we go at least 2-1 in our next 3 games? Same consequences but this time over the bye week. I'll follow through. 100%. C'mon man. You and Crusher and old school and jmc are so friggin concrete and definitive in your statements, I'd think the bye week would be a good cutoff for you. -

Really? Wow this is a simple pretty friendly bet with consequences that last a total of one week. I'm sorry but you and your crew (you apparently designated Crusher your leader...?) post so concretely about what will happen with Taylor and this team with Taylor at QB that you either really strongly believe what you say or you just use these message boards as your form of extreme hyperbolic venting. You apparently can't stand the "CoT" and you clearly put me in there. Here's your way to get some retribution in a friendly bet -

Do you accept my bet? Bills win next week and you can't say a single negative thing the following week leading up to Atlanta. If they lose same thing for me but I can't say anything positive. Break that, leave the board. Deal? I'll put that out to your three amigos as well: Crusher, old school and jmc -
No, this is not me saying that Taylor is better than Newton. Yes, I am anticipating a lot of folks just jumping down my throat and this thread. Try being objective for even a second today. In a vacuum, we're going to move on from our current QB after this year if our passing game doesn't vastly improve and use an arsenal of draft picks to supposedly draft our future franchise QB who will likely compete for the starting job right away with Taylor and/or Peterman. Carolina is stuck with a guy with serious accuracy issues (today was far from an anomaly for Newton), who too often only throws to WRs who are wide open (helloooooo why were they so damn wide open at those points?!) and who already seems to be getting seriously affected by all the NFL hits he's taking. The Panthers have a fantastic D. If they're a good team this year, their likely riding their Elite D all the way. Not their overrated QB. Onto the next Elite D
