  1. Did you notice the phrase "race-based slavery?" Yeah. Slavery has existed probably to some degree since man has existed. We conquer lands and enslave people. The triangle trade and specifically the raced based slavery involving the African race is a different animal and, probably with the exception of Jews, is largely unprecedented in human history. But thank you for the history lesson.
  2. K. I guess that means you're in for the under or the loss. Let me know if not.
  3. This is just sad. Are you drinking? Racism is a funny thing. It's undeniably prevalent in our society in many directions because humanity naturally fears what's different, but our country is one of the select few in history (maybe the only one...?) to implement a race based slavery that existed for hundreds of years and reverberated in policy for at least another century (this was merely half a century ago) and people hate it when anyone pulls the "race card" because... why exactly? We're so much better for the last 50 years than we were for the previous 500? People who don't like the race card being pulled should seriously examine why they dislike it so much. I'm not saying the race card always deserves to be pulled, but these types of reactions are always so disturbingly intriguing.
  4. I take this kinda post as an "I'm in." But let me know if not. I have you down for the under, assuming that's what you're going with. Let me know otherwise. K. Same deal
  5. Here's another reason I actually think we're a playoff team even with Taylor at QB. Taylor's 2 worst games this year were on the road against 2 of the top 5 NFL defenses. Top 5 overall AND top 5 specifically in passing defense. We play 2 more games against top 10 defenses in Miami, and they're pretty clearly beatable with a terrible offense. After that, the rest of our games are against defenses ranked in the 23-32 range. Plus, 6 home games vs 5 away games. Taylor passing at home: 211 YPG, 65% completions, 8.0 YPA, 25 TDs, 9 INTs, team is 11-6 Taylor passing away: 199.5 YPG, 60.4% completions, 6.7 YPA, 18 TDs, 5 INTs, team is 7-10
  6. Wow dude you are just a crotchety old man. Go get some sun. Or some Xanax. Geez. For all your complaints about "yippers" you sure as hell do a lot yourself. Oh, and not a clue what you mean about me being chased off billievers. I just posted there a couple days ago. Think I'll go post there now, too
  7. Why don't you just ignore the thread, dude. You must be having a terrible day because this is meant to be fun. If you think a fun thread is ruining a message board, maybe you should take an Internet vacation
  8. Can a mod please merge this with the thread that was created before it, please?
  9. I'm sorry but are you directing this weird pent up hostility at me?
  10. What the hell kind of an answer is that to the question he asked? Why did you only include the people who said we wouldn't make the playoffs when in your very own thread there are a good number who say we will? Great points! I think one thing folks over look there's the fact that our two losses came against two of the top five defenses (both overall and passing specifically) and they were both on the opponent's home turf where the defense for the home team gets the greatest advantage while the opposing offense is at its greatest disadvantage.
  11. There isn't one. You would be "Bills lose OR Taylor under 225" It's a safer bet. You in for that option? Okay so that means you're in...? Awesome Gugny. You guys are such sourpusses. I explained the 225 reasoning in the OP. Is that just a prediction or are you in? Soooooo... you're in? Because no one would take the over on 300 and legitimately think Taylor will get that against the Bucs unless they're insane! 225 would be the most passing yards of 2017 for Taylor. That's why I chose that number.
  12. Sorry. Only one friendly bet. You in for the under OR the loss? You're just a big bowl of sunshine, aren't you?
  13. We're going to need some takers on the other side to make this an actual bet
  14. It's not the only thing. I just think it's the most valuable thing for McDermott. Call it speculation if you like. I call it deductive reasoning.
  15. Actually I thought the poll would just confuse people into posting what they thought rather than letting them realize they were taking a bet.
  16. Why did you bother posting this? You were scared last time. You're scared this time it's fine. Just ignore the fun the rest of us are trying to have and don't be such a buzzkill. Soooo, only a handful of posters allowed to post, huh? Who decides who...? ALL HAIL jmc12290!!!!!
  17. Just look what happens after a loss. It's amazing how the dialogue changes. We had a bad passing game against the Bengals, that's for sure. I actually think that given the bye week and our upcoming opponents, our passing game is going to dramatically improve in terms of production. I understand the lack of weapons on this team, but I think we find away and Taylor put up the most passing yards against the Bucs than he has all season. So, a fun bet (or a conversation starter, perhaps) for a 2nd time. I think there are kinda fun consequences. I'm going to put this out in a thread to see if there are any takers. If there are no takers, I guess no bet. But considering how absolutely so many posters here are so incredibly despondent after the Bengals game, I'll be surprised if there are no takers. It's simple, just say "I'm in for (Bills L OR Taylor under 225 yards) OR (Bills W and Taylor over 224 yards passing)" If you bet the Bills L OR Taylor under 225 yards, but the Bills Win AND Taylor passes for 225 yards or more- You agree that you won't say a single negative thing about the team as a whole, players on the team individually, coaches, etc on TBD all the way up until kickoff when we play the Raiders the following week. If you bet the Bills W and Taylor over 224 yards, but the Bills Lose OR Taylor passes for less than 200 yards- You agree that you won't say a single positive thing about the team as a whole, players on the team, individually, coaches, etc on TBD all the way up until kickoff when we play the Raiders the following week. No prodding or personally attacking the other side if they lose, we'll just all expect them to abide by the terms of the bet, which will only last a week. I'm in for the Bills W and Taylor over 224 yards. Need at least one poster to bet against that, but wouldn't this be so much more fun if all the prophets came out and really demonstrated how great they are at prophesizing? *note* I chose 224 yards because of the Jets game, which was his best game in terms of total passing yards. This is purely yards in the air. We are not doing net passing yards, which subtracts sack yardage lost, mainly because I don't think you can fairly do that and not add back in scramble yardage gained. 18. No it's really not. Not for a defensive minded HC. I heard 2 separate interviews from Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcels about QB play and what they look for in QBs and (unprompted, mind you) BOTH of these HOF head coaches said is to protect the football and not turn the ball over. They even uttered the phrase "a punt is a good thing." If we had an offensive minded head coach, then maybe I would agree with you. But my bet is that one of the biggest reasons Taylor is still our starting QB under our defensive minded head coach Sean McDermott is because of how well he protects the football and doesn't turn it over so that our defense is allowed to keep our team in games and even win games for us. Does McDermott seem to you to care about offense of firepower? I think our team would've done a bit more to address our offense of weapons in the off-season if that were the case and wouldn't have traded away our most explosive offense of weapon. McDermott is thinking about the future but seeing that he can win right now with a team that is playing lights out defensively and the way you help that defense is by not killing them with multiple costly turnovers in games. So no, I'm sorry but I disagree. Protecting the football might be over blown in your eyes or any other random message board dude's eyes or any random football fan's eyes, but football coaches especially (defense oriented coaches) really value that trait.
  19. Just thought your general hypocrisy was worth pointing out
  20. This thread is still going? What did the OP originally ask? How could a switch to Peterman be any worse? Well, Peterman could have a game like week one this year for Andy Dalton where Dalton through zero TDs and four INTs. or like Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2016 against the Chiefs where he threw zero TDs and six INTs or like Gino Smith against us a few years back when he threw eight passes total and had three interceptions. It can get worse. It can get a lot worse. You can bring in all the arguments you want about an ineffective offense, but I guarantee that McDermott would prefer a stagnant and even ineffective offense that protects the football and doesn't turn the ball over to an offense that takes chances and turns the ball over. We have a defense oriented head coach. That's what it is and the way things are. You guys want to have this conversation, that's fine. But it's pretty useless considering Peterman isn't going in there until were either out of the playoff hunt or Taylor is injured. And those of you who are wishing for an injury (and I know there are some of you who want Taylor to get hurt so that Peterman can be put in), you really assume an awful lot, like that you know a lot more than our head coach. We're winning games we were never supposed to win his way. It really looks like we have a shot at the playoffs with the way this team is playing and our schedule actually seems to soften up a little. Putting Peterman in and allowing him to be potentially exposed as he turns the ball over significantly more than the game managing Taylor is problematic for the way our head coach wants to win games. That's why Taylor remains in there and why Peterman won't see the field until the scenarios I said above. Now go ahead and wish for an injury, but shame on you. The rest of us are going to watch and root for the playoffs with Taylor at the helm.
  21. 8th best, actually. And the 31st best passing defense. I'm anticipating Taylor's best passing game of the year next Sunday.
