I am going to put this up again. It's the third or fourth time I've done it and I directed it at you and a couple of your crew, but anyone can play along I guess. Friendly wager with no extreme consequences: Bills win and you (and whoever) can't say a single negative thing the week leading up to the Atlanta game. Bills lose and I can't say a single positive thing leading up to the Atlanta game. Should be good fun. You in?

Thoughts through 2 weeks

When I go, I go to watch my team win, And our D is more than just a suffocating run D. But I will say that Shaq rolling over the RB on that final drive in the goal line D was pretty exciting. -

Is it boring because of our offense, then? Because I think our defense is really exciting to watch. I guess generally people don't enjoy watching defense? But man, our defense looks like it can be one of the elite defenses in the NFL by the end of the year. Let's just hope it's a chemistry problem with the offense and that they will put it together. Here's to hoping -
I like Wentz's future prospects better than Newton, then. In a vacuum, I take Wentz. I'd also take Winston over Newton even though I still can't stand the off-the-field stuff from college. I think I'd take Mariota, too. You think Newton is better than Luck? I don't. And Luck's another guy I've always thought is overrated. I think Prescott benefits more from the team around him and wouldn't put him above Newton. I agree with your list up to that point, though. So just taking those individual cases, that puts him at 13.

No, I'm not a liar, you're just part of the group that's always angry. You quoted me in a post where I don't even say Taylor's name but make a passing reference to him, mainly because of how hypocritical your post was in the things you point out with him? I'm sorry, but clearly Newton was still the topic of conversation and has been for most of the thread, as much as I know you enjoy attacking me. I hear risperidone is a good drug to treat overly aggressive behavior. Maybe you should ask your doctor about it. are we going with "at this moment" or are we going with the better overall QB? If we're going with "at this moment," Alex Smith is clearly better than Newton.

Did you think this thread was directed at you? And let me put it this way, too. I think the league is a little watered down with QBs right now. QB play is fantastic because of all the rule changes. But I don't think the QB ability reflects the production. So I don't really think talking about him in this "ranked" way compared with today's QBs is relevant. It's more a reflection that the argument has been, for years, that Cam Newton is an Elite QB. I think there are 4 Elite QBs in the NFL: Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and Big Ben. Cam doesn't even belong in that conversation. And when all is said and done, I'll be curious to see how good Goff, Wentz and Prescott actually are. I think Wentz might be better than Cam. Goff looks good right now. And I also think Mariota and Winston might jump him. And I think Luck is better than him, though I don't know if he's ever going to have the team surrounding him to justify all the pre-draft hype that surrounded him. If that guy doesn't win a Super Bowl before his career is over, that's going to be a massive letdown for him and the Colts, assuming he remains there. Actually I've been trying to stick to Newton alone, except for my disclaimer at the beginning. Folks are definitely bringing him in, though. So as this has progressed I'm just rolling with the conversation. And victim? I don't feel victimized. You mistake my confusion for me playing the victim. Why people choose to come into threads they literally don't care to discuss is pretty confusing, to me.

I'm not looking for articles right now or anything, but I know there's been a narrative in Seattle that Wilson has a lot of the same issues. There was a lot of speculation that they'd draft a QB high to kinda push him competitively. Obviously, they didn't. But there's definitely concern regarding several of the same things.

RF, I like the take, and not because it takes blame off anyone. Look, sitting in the bar where I was watching the game, I told the guy next to me it wouldn't shock me if there's a QB change at the half and I wouldn't be upset, either. My feelings on Taylor are a lot more ambiguous than some of you think they are. I've been trying to establish that I'm excited about our future at the position because by 2018, one of two things will have happened: 1) Taylor will have such a good year in 2017 that we'll be pretty confident he's the guy leading us forward. or 2) We will draft our future at the position, regardless of whether Taylor is retained for 2018, which he might be. At this point, whether it's because the coaches just want a really conservative game plan or they just don't trust putting a bigger passing load on Taylor because they don't think he can handle it or he really can't handle it, I don't think we're going to see #1 happen. Everyone said in the offseason we were obviously going to pass the ball a ton more than the last two years like it was obvious. I wish we would, but I don't know why it was so obvious. And no, I'm not saying I wish we would pass the ball a ton more because I think Taylor would turn into a superstar. Unlike so many on this message board, I don't really know what Taylor would do if he were given a heavy passing load. What frustrated the hell outta me in the Carolina game was our game plan. I hope Dennison learns from it. Players need to execute, too, obviously. But I'm tired of these slow starts that extend for entire halves until we're desperate and need to open the game up. Sink or swim. Let Taylor throw the ball 35 times a game. He's successful, good for 2017 for him and the team and maybe the future depending on how successful. He sucks, good for 2018 because we'll probably be in position to draft a guy. When we started moving the ball on that last drive, it was the first time in awhile I actually felt like we were going to score a TD. Then the OPI happened and I lost it. Then it was back for the flash of an instant when I saw the ball in the air and Zay open. Then heartbreak. Oh the life of a Bills fan.

Bravo! Excellent post!

Why? I guarantee you're reading all of YPP's commentary and factoring in those comments as you watch the clips. This is why you should watch these plays without the commentary. The tweet you just posted they said "I just don't understand why the ball isn't being thrown." The exact same play posted on cover1's breakdown of All-22: "Double tosser concept again on 3rd-long. Daring him to throw it underneath. Pump fakes to get it to Clay but not there. Gets to Shady for Fg" Time to start thinking for ourselves folks!

Hey guys Thurm's back in the Tyrod discussion with his awesomeness!!!! Whoop whoop!!!! Haven't seen you in these QB discussions in awhile! So strange he shows up for a particularly bad passing game to inject all his football knowledge. Man, I can't wait to read it -

Of course he leaves plays on the field. Every single QB in the NFL leaves plays on the field. It's obvious. What's funny here is that you chose 2 plays to criticize that someone else (who has also been historically hypercritical of Taylor) chose and you practically used their own words but when pressed further you seemed at a loss for words. Invest in game pass and watch the plays without the commentary and think for yourself. -

Can you explain it? What's happening? Where should the ball be going? When? Why? How many more yards would we have gained on that throw than the yards we gained on a play that was a pass play for positive yardage? Please enlighten us. -

Nice. Guess I have my answer. Nearly word for word.
