  1. Baker is a good player who was in a bad situation. Is Carolina any better? Maybe, maybe not. If McCaffery can stay healthy, I wouldn't be shocked to see them do very well this year. The NFC is pretty much wide open.
  2. 2 of Blackshear, Hodgins, and Kumerow get cut I think. Spector or Giles-Harris makes the roster and I think you need another DB to start the season.
  3. It's so he doesn't burn his hands taking the pork butt out of the smoker during commercials.
  4. Ohio: The Florida of the Midwest I Spent my early to mid 20s in Seattle and it's an awesome place. I still miss the fishing/boating.
  5. That's pretty much the exact opposite of what I suggested.
  6. This is just such a constantly horrible take. The decision to trade up for Watkins was in no way awful. It's what tons of GMs, including our own did. Sammy Watkins was universally seen as a generational talent that should have been a bigger star than Hopkins. He had all the making of it. Apparently he also had a drug problem and add in some injuries and well - there goes the top of the potential of a promising career - a career that's still going for how "awful" that pick was. Going out and getting Sammy after they got their QB is no different at all than going out and getting Diggs the way we did. It's no different than the Bengals getting their WRs. Teams with Young QBs like to surround them with talent. If Sammy turned into the 1500 yard, 15TD monster he was supposed to be, and EJ didn't flame out, no one would would ever make this argument. Judging capability based on results is lazy and ineffective, because it's not reproducible. creating and executing a repeatable process for success is far more useful. GMs get graded almost exclusively on whether or not the QB works out. It's a reality, but if we want to consider ourselves smarter than the average fan, we should recognize that there's far more important things that go into evaluating GMs.
  7. Agree with everything but the hate on the punter. Sure, it's not the most pressing need in the world, but it is still a position of need. You just potentially got a day 1 starter who can put you in a position to win a game with a single great play. Especially considering he's cheaper, it's a win-win. There probably weren't a lot of guys in that spot that are day 1 starters.
  8. Not 2023, 2024. We're going to be flat next year. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/2024/
  9. The cap figures to keep going up significantly each year. Money tomorrow is cheaper than money today. I think Oliver and Edmunds are gone after this season (or earlier) unless they suddenly become all-pros. I'd very much like to bring Poyer back as I feel he's outperformed Hyde. Next year's cap space probably comes mostly from the projected increase + some restructures and maybe a surprise retirement from someone like Morse. Your only real FA's next year are Poyer, Edmunds and Singletary. I think you can easily keep one, if not two. The following year, we'll have a pile of cap space.
  10. Historically, #25 seems to net some solid returns: Aiyuk, Marquise Brown, Hurst, Shaq Thompson, jason verett. More good than bad recently
  11. Dude's a bum. He can find some other sucker to be his 4th team. I'd rather have Rhodes or a rookie that doesn't look like we just shot his dog when he's drafted.
  12. I think that's worse, because he was actually on the team.
  13. I imagine they trade Lockett too. They're in full teardown mode until they find a QB.
  14. because he's going to command $20-25M a year after next year and they can't keep him and Lockett with no QB.
  15. Saw Flogging Molly and Tommy Emmanuel so far this year. Forgot I had tickets to see Dropkick Murphys, so missed that one sadly. Probably mostly local acts through the summer.
  16. I really enjoy listening to Al Michaels, Kenny Albert and Tony Romo. I don't tune in to watch them, but I probably stay longer than I otherwise would if I had to just listen to Greg Olsen, Trent Green, Charles Davis, Aikman, or Collinsworth.
  17. Who cares? They still wouldn't be good.
  18. If you remove Beasley's worst season and his best he averages 576 yards, 3.75tds and 32 First Downs. That first down total would rank him 54th in the league this year, and I shouldn't need to point out where his other stats would rank him. This is with him playing with Romo, Prescott, and Allen. H'es never had to play with poor QBs for extended periods
  19. I really dislike our conversations. I listed 7 players that should be considered better than Beasley was at his very absolute best, and that's not enough. The deeper down the list I go, the more pedantic I expect your responses to become. For the record, I'd add Robert Woods, Jarvis Landry, and Adam Theilen as better out of the slot. And yes, the receivers I listed above have historically played mostly out of the slot. I'm not claiming Beasley is garbage - JAG is only a slight if you feel he's elite, and he's not that. There isn't any part of his game that's special. He's is (or was) a solid player who's mouth outruns his legs. He has run of the mill 1rst down numbers, weak yardage totals, weak TD totals, awful YAC. He catches balls most of the time and goes down afterwards. He's a fine player, but he's not in the 150 best all time. He's never been to a pro bowl or been an AP1.
  20. Hill, Kupp, Allen, Lockett, Lamb, Godwin, Schuster, etc. He had one season in his entire career that he belonged in the conversation, and last year sure as hell wasn't it. Don't let that stop you though.
  21. Listen, Cole. You aren't close to the best guy in the league. You've been a JAG your whole career and you had one good season. Pump the brakes. Drama follows you wherever you go and you can't help but be a distraction. Good riddance. Crowder is an instant upgrade.
  22. You know the dude has a twitter account right? Do I have to read it for you? He's never known when to shut his ***** mouth. Off the top of my head: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/impending-free-agent-cole-beasley-blasts-cowboys-front-office-for-his-lack-of-involvement-in-offense/ https://www.nfl.com/news/cole-beasley-on-cowboys-wrs-we-re-just-getting-open-0ap3000000967380 https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/07/22/is-cole-beasley-trying-to-get-cut/
  23. Poor dude's going bald at 22. Not sure if I'd make that trade.
