I disagree. He can't stay on the field so he is not one of our best players. He is one of our most TALENTED players. Do not exercise the option, make him EARN a contract extension. If he says FU, franchise and trade. Simple.

Ok that is why I say don't pick up the option and franchise his ass this offseason. No way in hell you just let him walk after surrendering an additional 1st and 4th for the guy Not unless he can show it over an entire season. Sammys best bet is to stay healthy and put up outstanding numbers this year.

the smart thing to do is NOT pick it up. Sammy can't stay on the field. If he can't put in a full season this year, I franchise and trade in the offseason. We will have the cap to do it and some team will always think they can rehab a player, it always happens.

Here is the deal, no one here's boss is going to let them fail for 17 years and keep them on. They have failed at their job repeatedly, it was past time for an entire house cleaning. People lose jobs all the time and it sucks, but they did it to themselves. Now IF any of them were ignored and can prove it, that they were good, they will find another job. But this Organization needed a culture change and a complete blow out of the scouting staff for a long time.

Why did Brady fall? Dak? Brees? Russell Wilson? Because these guys overthink crap and are wrong many times in their QB evaluations. If they were right, Every team would have a franchise QB by now. And who the hell determines this guy has a weak arm? Peyton manning was regarded as having a weak arm coming out, Brady, Brees etal. Kid can make every throw, let him come to the NFL, work with an NFL Training staff and QB coach and watch as that weak arm mysteriously gets stronger.

I would be careful on that. If Petterman works out like I think he might, we won't be going QB. But think on it, IF he does, then we have two firsts to start adding to this roster. It would be a win win.

Many good GM candidates will not accept the flat structure the Pegulas want, its just not how its done in the NFL. So here is to hoping someone is ok with it that is worth a damn.

Nothing to discuss, he isn't the QB to get us where we want to go. Our long term solution is either Petterman or a 1st round pick next year.

I disagree. Let him play out this season. IF he plays the entire season, puts up great numbers then franchise and talk contract. But I dont put the exclusive franchise Tag on him. I let him talk to teams and see if they want to surrender a 1st rounder + for him.

I really like him, but think our GM will be the guy from KC or Carolina. But imho Wolf is ready. The kid was virtually bred to be a GM. AND Green bay is the best at developing a team through the draft and adding minor pieces through FA.

+1 I wore by Bills hat proudly yesterday. I feel there is hope and we have turned the corner. Now we have a long way to go, but at least we aren't going the wrong way on a one way street anymore I feel.

You miss this greatly, It has to be ok'ed by the GM. No GM is going to say "here just go spend money" to someone. Jim has to tell the GM "they demand this much". Gm must say ok

I have read here, and other places, he should be canned for his bad contracts...wrong. HE didnt make contract decisions The GM's did. His job is to have the GM come to him and they say "make this work in the cap" that is it. HE didn't give Dareus an insanely stupid contract, Whaley did. Jim Overdorf is considered to be one of the best in the NFL with the cap. The Next GM needs to keep that in mind and make better decisions on who gets what and for how much, before asking Jim to make it work within the cap. Not sure why part if that is bold, but meh...

Kirby, 17 years more misses than hits. If they worked normal jobs, they would have been fired long ago
