  1. I doubt you're capable.
  2. TE's seem to be more willing to do the right thing.
  3. Yeah. I saw that joke on Twitter. If he was from here it would be produced a Pope before a Lombardi.
  4. A trade is definitely possible as it saves the Bills $6.2m. If we cut him it would only save $2.7m. The suspension of Hoecht complicates though. You'd have to be okay with Groot, Bosa, Jackson, and Solomon as your four edge guys. If we could find a trade partner I'd probably do it. Epenesa was pretty poor last year.
  5. Do you know what hindsight is and why it matters when comparing the 2023 WR class compared to the 2025 WR class?
  6. You're honestly confusing the hell out of me. You're also asking a really dumb question. We have the benefit of hindsight with the 2023 WR room and we have no clue how good this 2025 WR room will be. So the best way I can answer the question is if you asked me to rank both WR groups before the start of each season it wouldn't be close. The 2023 WR room would look far better than the 2025 WR room mostly because we had an alpha WR1 going into 2023. Diggs was coming off a 1,429 yard season with 11 TD's. Davis was younger and there was still optimism that he could improve because of the high ankle sprain he had early in the season in 2022 as WR2. Harty and Sherfield were being sold as untapped potential that could blossom with Josh Allen as the QB. Shakir we weren't even sure was going to make the team. Right now on paper our best WR weapon is a tiny slot guy that can attack the short and intermediate areas of the field but isn't a deep threat. The rest until proven otherwise would be considered an average WR3 or 4 on most teams.
  7. Clowney had double the pressures last year (44) than Epenesa (21) on only 30 more snaps. I don't want the Bills to sign Clowney as it feels we're bloated at that position already but he's a better player than Epenesa in both run defense and rushing the passer.
  8. Misread. Gabe was a decent #4 as Allen's passer rating targeting him was 100.1 and 103.8 before we moved on from Brown and Sanders. He didn't have any significant injuries during those years either if I remember correctly. When given the snaps that a WR2 typically gets though he dropped down to 80.8 in 2022 and 84.7 in 2023. Same thing with the Jags before his injury but even worse with a lesser QB (61.5). Brown's last year here as WR2 had a 110.9 passer rating when targeted and Sanders had a 99.7. I'd pry rather have him than Moore as WR5 but my preference would be Coleman, Shakir, Palmer, and Samuel seeing the majority of the snaps.
  9. You have way more faith in Elijah Moore than I do if that's your preference. Emmanuel Sanders is the only one that really stands out.
  10. Kind of what I expected given his play up to this point. Eating $2.5m in dead cap is something the Bills have done before with OJ Howard ($3.2m) so he's not guaranteed a roster spot imo.
  11. Now I hope they wear pink just to piss you off.
  12. Can you grasp the concept that Davis should've never been a WR2 to begin with? You're also ignoring the impact that a true #1 WR like Diggs was when evaluating a WR depth chart.
  13. What trait is that?
  14. Not necessarily as Gabe will do what's best for his career. He could be promised a bigger role than us by another team and take it hoping to parlay that season into a future contract.
  15. There's enough sympathy for RB's that if you were to add an incentive to the last year of their rookie deal that's pry the position you do it at. Also, we're only talking about $3m that might not even be earned. He still runs the risks of all the guys that we did sign to extensions this year avoided. Getting seriously injured on the last year of his rookie deal.
  16. Shows you the value of an offensive line when even an elite RB on a poor line can only give you 3.9ypc. Meanwhile, he goes to the Eagles with a great o-line along with a dual threat QB and puts up video game numbers with 2005 yards rushing and 5.8ypc.. You saw the same thing happen with Derrick Henry with a great o-line with the Ravens and a dual threat QB. He averaged 4.2 ypc with a mediocre o-line and then 5.9 ypc for 1,921 yards with a good offensive line in Baltimore and probably the most dual threat QB's in the league We have those elements in place but just don't have an elite back that can take advantage of it.
  17. I'm almost positive they can but not 100%. The question then comes in whether the performance based incentives are likely to be earned (counts against the cap) or not likely to be earned (won't impact camp unless player reaches it). I'm still a little fuzzy on who makes that determination.
  18. The solution is really is really easy to avoid any kind of holdout and I'd love for somebody to tell me if you can add incentives to a rookie contract on the final year of a deal. If he can get up to maybe $3m in incentives you'd still get maximum effort from him, keep him from being a distraction, and not have to commit long term.
  19. These two are really the only points that need to be made. Most teams that give out premium second contracts to RB regret it within a couple of years. Maybe 15 to 20% or so don't. RB's usually start to decline after age 26 regardless of the wear and tear on their body.
  20. Why not see if he can do it again before signing him to a long term contract? It's way more likely he regresses to the mean and puts up between 5 and 9 TD's. Jamaal Williams scored 17 TD's in 2022. The other six years he played the most he put up was four TD's in a season. Barkley put up almost double the yards Cook did last year and still rushed for three less TD's.
  21. Unless they pay him more than $11m it doesn't matter how much another team pays below that. The Jaguars have to pay the rest of his $11m guaranteed. Pittsburgh only had to pay the veteran minimum for Wilson last year ($1.2m). The Broncos had to foot the rest of the bill and pay $37.9m to get to his guaranteed salary of $39m.
  22. If he did a four year $60m extension you'd still be paying him $13.2m per year which is still bad business for a RB that doesn't even play half the snaps.
  23. Easy solution is to just add some incentives (up to $4m) to his contract this year. He'll work and play as hard as he did last year with a future contract on his mind. For the cap specialists on here, is that allowed on a rookie contract?
