MVP vote - Josh got 2nd most votes
Doc Brown replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh isn't overlooked. The fact that he finished ahead of Mahomes tells me that. If Rodgers had the same year last year he had this year Lamar would've have won MVP and maybe received four votes like Josh. Just bad timing. As far as Mahomes two years ago....50 TD's, 8 INT's, 5,097 yards passing, 113.8 passer ratting. Pretty, pretty, good. -

They did. May have cost them a Super Bowl birth. Tee Higgins or Chase Claypool would've been a nice weapon for Aaron to have. -
MVP vote - Josh got 2nd most votes

Interesting that Mahomes got two more votes than Allen as far as "offensive player of the year." Mahomes nauseating amount of weapons seemed to work against him as far as what the voters viewed as "value" to their team as far as the MVP vote goes. -
NFL Honors Awards Show Tonight: Any Bills make it?
Doc Brown replied to BillsDude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Congrats to Kevin Stefanski. It's not easy following Hue Jackson, Gregg Williams, and Freddie Kitchens. -
True but if they cut/trade Fuller, Hicks, and Graham that saves them $30 mil right off the bat. They can also get creative with extending or renegotiating contracts. They'll be able to afford Wentz but it likely comes at the cost of not being able to resign Robinson.

RIP Christopher Plummer "Mr Sound of Music "
Doc Brown replied to CowgirlsFan's topic in Off the Wall
His best performance was General Chang in Star Trek VI. You can't beat him quoting Shakespeare as a Klingon. RIP. -
That's downplaying it. The purpose of impeachment for Trump is to prevent some rogue president from doing something similar in the future. It's to safeguard and strengthen our democracy. Let's say Obama lost reelection to Romney and refused to accept the results of the election. He immediately started spreading disinformation for months to his supporters that it was "stolen" from him without any evidence that could past muster in court. He then used his cult of personality to encourage his most fanatical followers to march to the capital building to "stop the steal" where results of the election were about to be certified. Five people die and one of our most recognizable buildings in our great democracy was defaced. I'd want him impeached asap. That's something that just can't be brushed aside. Without Trump's rhetoric and gaslighting it wouldn't have happened. Period.

Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut
Doc Brown replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it depends on where the salary cap lands. They’ll pry find a way to keep him if it’s closer to 190 million than 175 million. Having that speed threat stretches a secondary opens things up for Beasley, Diggs, Knox, etc. underneath. He also has a really good rapport with Allen and is a refined route runner. I would be uncomfortable with Davis taking the #2 slot. You’re likely not going to upgrade from the TE so having the same wr crew with that depth that got you to 15-4 is essential. -
Biden Confronts The Economic Crisis
Doc Brown replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Because politicians generally crater to the consensus of the public. The fact that any Dems or Republicans voted against it is astounding to me. -
Is McDermott aggressive? NFL.com thinks so.
Doc Brown replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McDermott at least learns from his mistakes which is an advantage many first time head coaches don't have because a franchise will pull the plug too quickly. His game management skills also have improved this year. Calling a time out after the replay disaster against the Colts to reset his defense stands out. -
Biden Confronts The Economic Crisis
Doc Brown replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's frustrating. I suppose it's even more frustrating for GOP voters who do care about the deficit who see them pass those massive spending bills when they control Congress and the presidency. However, the Democrats plan passed in the House is extremely popular so pass the darn thing through reconciliation and don't compromise with Republicans. If they scream about the debt just point out the last four years. -
Bills TE Lee Smith is contemplating retirement
Doc Brown replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With confusing descriptions like that it's no wonder fans have such a hard time. -
We'll never know if McVay used the thumb injury as an excuse just to start Wolford. Just the fact that Goff played decent in relief along with a report that Goff was unhappy that McVay didn't start him in the WC game makes it plausible.
-
It just points to how much they soured on Goff. Why was he good enough to be the backup then in that game if his thumb significantly limited his ability to throw the ball? Something tells me Allen, Mahomes, Rogers, Brady, etc... had the same injury they would've started.

Did the Lincoln Project have a casting couch ?
Doc Brown replied to Teddy KGB's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I hated the Lincoln Project people because I saw them as grifters and they hurt more than helped. Calling all of them pedo/pervs based off one person who's had accusations made against him is well typical on this message board nowadays. -
Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?
Doc Brown replied to Dr.Sack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only if they still make Gase and Marrone coach it. -

Any specifics? One person. Multiple people? I have no clue what you're talking about. -
Yeah he was. They were so desperate for an upgrade they started a backup over him in the playoffs using the thumb injury as an excuse.

Super Bowl Thread: KC at Tampa Bay
Doc Brown replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want the Chiefs to win so they have the 32nd pick instead of the 31st pick. Yes, that's how little I care about the outcome of this game. -
We'll know now. Elite offensive line, solid WR and TE options, a great system, young dynamic running backs, and a really good defense. The fact that Goff had a 20 to 13 TD to INT ratio is pathetic given what he had surrounding him. He's just too indecisive, limited vertically, and also fumble prone. The Rams thought so little of him they decided to start a backup in a playoff game ahead of him (if he's good enough to be a backup with a thumb injury he's good enough to start). He was holding them back and Stafford will show that this year.
-
They don't have a 1st rounder this year as they traded the pick for Jaylen Ramsey. I think it's seven years in a row the Rams don't have a first round pick since they took Goff. They've been decent at hitting on their mid round picks though.
-
I think your view of this trade comes down to your opinion of Stafford and Goff. I think Stafford's a huge upgrade to Goff and it will show next year. Stafford's had to navigate through a bunch of crappy situations in Detroit while Goff was able to benefit off of McVay after a terrible rookie year. I think McVay was tired of having to scheme around Goff's weaknesses. Goff was turnover prone, indecisive, and doesn't have the ability to stretch the ball vertically like Stafford does. Stafford should easily have his best season next year and makes them viable Super Bowl contenders for at least the next few seasons. What happens after that depends on their ability to find talent in the middle rounds. Two first round picks are a lot (there were apparently a lot of bitters) but the Lions had to eat Goff's horrible contract for that draft capital. Also, keep in mind those picks will pry be in the 20's or 30's because the Rams will pry be a Super Bowl contender through 2023 with this move. I see it as a win/win trade that the Lions and Dan Campbell will eventually screw up. As far as the Rams, the only way this move works out is if they win the Super Bowl within the next few years. McVay doesn't have a losing season yet in four years so I wouldn't bet against him.
