  1. I'm calling BS. Political Party has nothing to do with it. They all do it.

George W. Bush - Since leaving office, the former president has made more than $15 million in speaking fees, apparently charging between $100,000 and $150,000 per speech, according to reports and that was back in 2011.

Clinton before him and Bush Sr before him and Carter before him.

Look at what The Donald charges.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/washingtons-highest-lowest-speaking-fees/story?id=24551590#1

As the decades roll past the fees go up exponentially.

The topic of the OP is "being honest" is it not?

I think his post was meant more because O spent a lot of his term(s) bagging against the "fat cats" on Wall St and is now accepting their money to make a speech

  2.

This just seems to me to be another example of what Trump has done from the beginning - ramp up the rhetoric with an extreme proposal in the beginning, then softening his stance to get negotiations going. I honestly believe that you can interpret 80% of his proposals as being examples of this approach. That's why I went on record months ago with a "wait and see" attitude.

This is how I feel most of the time with him, he seems willing to negotiate on most things and takes a hard stance one way so that when they negotiate it comes closer to what he wanted originally

  3.

He's good but I don't think he's as great as people say.

I am kinda on this side, but I think it is mainly because people talked him up so much that I was inevitably going to be let down.

Was basically like this with Ibushi in the CWC too, he put on great matches but people were so in love with him and raving about him prior that I think I would have liked him more had people not been so over the moon and were more like this guy is legit

  4.

They're trying to build the hype before his first match. I would like to see what he can do in the ring as well, as I do not have the WWE Network (and obviously cannot watch NXT.) Everything I've read about him is that he is really good in the ring, so I do think that the wait will be worth it.

I think NXT is on hulu if you have that (although I am not sure how far that would go back) and his matches are good, if you can see his match with Sami Zayn it was awesome.

The match with Ziggler should be good, even though I am not a fan of the build up as Ziggler is a great worker and sells stuff really well so seeing him sell some of Nak's strikes and his finisher should be good.

Why I don't like the build up but kinda get it is that his English still needs a little work (I think Tozawa's is better) and I think by getting this crap out of the way, it kinda builds some sympathy up so people will be more lenient I think going forward. But Zigglers heeling def needs some work

i never watched whatever federation he was in, so i don't get the appeal of "shitstain"....i REALLY don't get the build up and why we are on week 3 or 4 and he still hasn't had a match....he better be worth the hype

My wife (not the biggest Nakamura fan) says his name sounds like shitstain too! I think perhaps going forward they should just refer to him as "Nakamura" maybe drop the first name like they did with Cesaro

  5.

Judges can only be impeached and removed for bad behavior, not for being loony libs deciding cases with gatortard levels of illogic. The 9th Circuit is well known for being nuts, and I believe they are still the court most often overturned by the Supreme Court.

The whole purpose behind making it incredibly hard to remove judges is so that judges aren't removed because they made an unpopular decision.

Last I heard/saw something like 80% of their cases are overruled by the SCOTUS, that's ridiculous, there is obviously something flawed on their end, I did see that they may perhaps break the court up into two smaller circuits as that one has a huge case load.

Side note: I wish you would join our WWE thread in Off the wall, I know you and I would discuss it over on BBMB and we got a couple contributors here since I started the thread

  6. The House of Representatives should impeach several of the judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. They have the power to remove them from office and should do that. They have overstepped their bounds too many times. Instead of having the country ruled by Executive fiat, we have a worse situation where an Appellate court is running the country by Judicial fiat. :thumbs down:

I didn't see where the judge was that blocked this most recent order, I assumed though that it was the 9th circuit, has that been confirmed?

  7. Sure

Obama promised to expand health insurance and did.

Trump promised the same, said it would be cheaper and great. His bill threw 24 million off health care/insurance, raised rates for many and did nothing at all he said it would.

Yes, I see how you would confuse Obama's and Trump's statements

Actually they do let your bargain if you don't have insurance, they usually have rates that they charge the companies but if you are paying out of pocket will charge you different, and especially if they know they cant afford things (and since they are obligated to treat) they will work out something that is manageable for all parties (and no she didn't have a pre existing condition)

And you keep throwing out this expanded health insurance like it means something, yes more people are on insurance, but the insurance doesn't cover anything and they cant afford to use it, then what good is it? That's why Obamacare is a failure

  8. there were some bad reviews of this Raw but I was sports entertained when I watched it, the comedy with Y2J and Dean was great, Dean trying to get his name off the list and the Jericho putting him back on was funny

Also good to see the start to have an idea on how to book Bray of course made me happy : ) still not sure about this House of Horrors thing but it appears the title is not on the line so Bray winning would be a good way to build some momentum into his next Raw feud (Balor perhaps?)

Matt Hardy seemed to get carried by Sheamus in the match (Sheamus did a great job imo) but perhaps if they finally get to add the "broken" gimmick he will be able to do more promo backstage stuff and be better rested in the ring to help his work rate

  9. Obama provided health insurance to millions and millions, that ain't no lie. And you comparing this scum bag to our last president shows how bankrupt you are

Insurance that costs more and covers less, thanks Obama!!

My wife, who came from a poor house hold, said it was actually cheaper for her family to be uninsured as they could bargain with the doctor on prices and would work out something that they could afford. Its not like people who didn't have insurance couldn't go to the doctor, now everyone has insurance, gets charged up the ass and all it does is go towards the really high deductible that no one ever meets

Edit: I am sure that has all been mentioned somewhere in this monstrosity of this thread but the point still stands

  10. I'm 4 or 5 episodes into Iron Fist. I'm not seeing all the hate for the character that I've seen so often. It makes sense to me. He left the real world when he was a kid and now he has no idea how it works. He's still very much the kid he was before the crash... except for the crazy ninja skills.

Yeah I didn't get the hate, but I think it would have been cool to see him go through all of his training (perhaps that will be a later season like a flashback). The biggest complaint I heard was that most people hated the fight scenes, it wasn't as good as Daredevil or Jessica Jones imo but I still liked it overall

  11. They will probably match it because they've been working on an extension anyway. They have the cap room. I think I'd rather take the draft pick though and sign a different RB like Blount.

I think Blount would be a perfect compliment to Shady tbh but we do have Tolbert to be a big bruising back but he is a "Fb" I guess

  12.

By all accounts, he was a very good person, actually. He helped young people for a living and had no prior record. Even had a license to legally carry a concealed weapon. I bet his parents and family thought he was a human being.

    You didn't even know him.

The guy said he killed something like 11 other people, he was not a good person. I do feel sorry for their family that this guy turned out the way he did, but do not feel sorry that he shot himself, in fact he got off easy

  13. Look, if Taylor gets hurt, of course give him a shot. But I'm not freaking out at the hypothetical of taking a guy at 10 and not freaking out if he doesn't win the starting job.

You're reaching master level freak-out if you are freaking out about a hypothetical of a hypothetical #10 QB who hypothetically doesn't win the starting job hypothetically doesn't come in for a hypothetical Tyrod Taylor injury.

    Hypothetically.

Sorry, I couldn't resist on the last one. :P

Well we could always play TJ Yates too
