It was also discovered that Listenbee was dealing with hip instability from a hit he endured while at TCU.

“I had a play at TCU where I injured it and my tailbone was hurting, it shot through my tailbone and my pelvis was shifting, getting shot up,” Listenbee said of his hip injury. “Each game kind of like made it worse.”

In December, he had hip surgery to repair it and said that he would return in 2017 — healthy.

I'm still not sure why he was out the whole year. He had "hernia" repair bilaterally a year ago. Toward the end of the season, he had a "metal plate" put in his pelvis, per him.

The training camp starts many months after his hernia surgery. Why couldn't he play?

  2. Listenbee played a really simple offensive package at TCU . He ran only a few routes.....and got by with his speed against slower defenders. Now, with the pro's, that tactic won't work. He will need to learn moves and a complex offense. I look to him to be practice squad material really while he learns his trade. Same would have happened last year imho. the physical skills are good, but not great. I read on this message board that Listenbee was as fast as Goodwin. I don't think so, his 4.39 will not stay with Goodwin at 4.23 (I think it was ). Still, a low round draft choice healthy again, we can hope.

He ran that 40 with a double sports hernia, not exactly a fair comparison. Listenbee was also a track star, I read that he ran a 100m (which is 110 yards) dash in 10.09, that's damn fast and he is 6'1" which would make him a taller Goodwin too

    Edit: Apparently it was 10.04

  3. He may also replace him in durability issues? We need slower, bigger wr's who can sustain hits and play every week.

It is possible, but I don't want to label him mr glass without him atleast stepping on the field. He did run a 4.38 40 or whatever with double sports hernia so he could be tough. I don't know if he was injury prone in college or not, but if he wasn't then we should give him a chance to prove himself

  4. I'm not entirely sure about that. I think that was true but it seems this year they're listening to the true fans and taking steps in the right directions.

The NFL was obsessed with getting the casual fan when they had a viable base all along. A rabid, continually breeding fanbase.

With the dipping numbers it seems they're finally willing to work with us. They're going to be less strict on celebrations, and they're really getting on the networks for excessive ad time.

It's about time they cater to us, no other sport in the US was even close in enjoying the success the NFL was and all they cared about was getting news fans. The old fans spoke in the one way they'd understand and at least for the moment it seemed to work.

Now if we can get them to be less strict on the defense (holding, illegal contact, PI, roughing the passer) it would be exponentially better to watch but

  5. @john_wawrow

Per @CSETalent's Jason and Michael Katz in email to AP, LB Zach Brown exploring all options, intends to make decision after visits completed

He visited with us, Miami, Oakland and Indy, what else does he have lined up? Or does this mean we should expect one soon?

  6.

Forgot all about about Grant. Man so much talent missed with these guys leaving early for the check!

I hope Lydon comes back but won't hold my breath. At least he hasn't signed with an Agent yet.

That's what I said regarding Lydon, others said in this thread that he did sign with an agent.....

  7. Yep! That is what is underneath it all with my bellyaching. I did acknowledge that I enable. But, I do ease up between these four walls. Where I really hold them accountable is when they walk outside those four walls of the home. That's where you will see the fruits of one's labor really take hold! That is when you will see if what you are doing needs to be corrected.

Every parent's goal should be to get off their lazy azz and help make their children productive, respectful, citizens. This of course doesn't mean turn "helicopter parent" on them either.

Courage to change the things I can,

And wisdom to know the difference."

You sure you are a liberal??!?! :D

  8. "I bought you a diamond...a Diamond Dallas Page Yoga DVD set!"

No interest here in Shane-O doing the same old thing but more power to you if you enjoy it.

"I am going to pop the question!" hahahah

and yeah I agree re: Shane, he barely if at all connected on the elbow, the one saving grace is that 1) you know there will be crazy spots in the match, 2) it means they see AJ as a big deal since he is going against a McMahon at WM

So I think it means I will be sports entertained and AJ has good things for him going forward so I can live with it

  9. Well at least 1 of them made the right decision as Battle will be returning!

I get the idea but I just disagree. With the wage scale in the NBA players don't get paid until their 2nd and 3rd contracts (if they get there) and they are percentage increases. It behooves all of these guys to go as high as possible in the draft. Lydon right now is hoping to go at the end of the first. If he stayed and went were Kamisky went (I know white on white comp but I think it fits well - Kamisky was better than Lydon is right now) he would make much more money.

Here is a good link for more info

If someone gets picked 11th they make 6.4 in the first 3 years. 21st like Malachi is only 4 million. Never mind if they drop out of the first which Lydon certainly could do and then there is no guaranteed money. Making 5 million is cool but shortsighted. Players have to be looking at earning that second contract. That takes players from rich to set for life. I'm not upset and I get the idea of leaving if you know you can I just don't think it is smart.

Dion Waiters, Melo, Wes Johnson, MCW, even Jonny Flynn made the right call because they were lottery picks. This is where I agree with your point even if I think Waiters and Flynn could have made themselves better by staying.

Donte Greene, Paul Harris, Devendorf, Ennis, Richardson (especially him - best of this bunch imo and probably a top 10 pick this year), Chris McCullough (you forget about him? I did lol) all should have continued playing college ball.

I thought jerami grant should have stayed but he proved me wrong in regards to money anyway (still think he would have been a better player in the NBA if he stayed one more year and thus made more over the long run) McCullough I think has earned a decent wage too but out him in the same boat as grant, lydon would be lucky to get where they are of now, he stays another year then he'd be on grant and McCullough level and senior year he'd have a potential for a lottery pick imo

  10. LoL...

And the "aunts" are close to being back again for the year... "That means everybody stay on top of their daily chores.. No excuses!"

I really crack the whip! :-)

This is a great thread... I am home alone, daughter in high school, wife @ work, son off living @ college... It is just me and the three cats and two guinea pigs.

Pets... That is another life long PITA!

To OP... Things get easier. :-/

We sound like kindred spirits. I am a flaming liberal though... And let them slide all the time! It's my empathy and "Energizer Bunny" in me! My will to make socialism work. ;-)

My children also 4 years apart. LoL...

Ah yes we will most certainly differ here, but its all good if we all thought the same the world would be boring. I am the one that is strict, my wife lets them slide, although right now that consists of me taking things away lol

and the 4 years is for yours I was saying mine are only 18 months apart roughly

  11. Mine will throw out full things if it expired last week, even spices which are just fine, thank you very much! "I was sure I had paprika! Oh, not AGAIN!"

This bothers me to! Throws out the rest of gallons of milk if after the sell by date, I try telling her that is when they are supposed to be sold not used by! She is OCD when it comes to bacteria/germs. And yeah spices don't hurt you lol Had that conversation with mine. Also she found a piece of meat in tacos I made that was still red and accused me of trying to poison her, I just shook my head.

I was able to convince her to try her steak medium well instead of well, and she was shocked that it tasted better

  12. As Coach Tibs (Chicago Bulls, Minny T-Wolves) says:

    6575dd2a15087c113c6a61496e8cc2b175316fcb

Bullcrap! I don't buy the "lack of energy" excuse. My children are 14 & 18 & we raised them 500+ miles from the closest family, AND both of us have two full time jobs... For years we were "two ships passing in the night"... We never contracted out any home chores, maintenance, etc... Blessing I work shift work though... But still, while working midnights, I would come home to my children raising duties after the grave yard shift and my wife would go off to work... Never had daycare much either. And in rare occasions we were both on weekday, day shifts... We might get a sitter, pre going to school days.

    Anyway... Do these people complain:

The just walk & carry, walk, carry & walk, carry some more... Sometimes carrying up to 175%...YES... 175% of their body weight!

    nationalgeographic_1971077_custom-be20b6

I have no tolerance for not keeping things ship shape. You work till "mission complete," then only then, rest...

...And boy does "la familia" fight me on this one, I do not relent... And it has made all the difference in our very isolated, independent life. You know... It raises children to fully understand what Coach Tibs hammers home above.

Do your job and do your best!

    /rant_sorry

    :-)

Yes sir! lol How funny I am a bulls fan and you use Tibs on me hahah still mad at management for getting rid of him. And I am in no way complaining, just calling it how it is

Just some counter points, we both work full time on the same schedule, plus 4 years apart with kids is different then roughly 1 and a half years, but I mainly let her slide as I am sure there is **** I do that bothers her and the whole mantra of happy wife happy life. I figure if I am going to pick battles it will be over something more important than half drank soda cans and empty boxes so I pick them up

  13. reminds me of when I got back home after I got married. We drove seperately to the venue because I slept at my Dad's the night before with the whole can't see the bride before the wedding thing. I came to the bedroom and she was in bed wearing her lingerie. I told her "I love you very much and I know we just got married but I don't have an ounce of energy to have sex with you and I really really want to sleep." She let out this huge sigh of relief and exclaimed "Thank God!" I think it took us two full days of rest to get back to normal.

I thought that was everyones wedding night! lol We had to pack the next day to leave the following day for our honeymoon, so yea two days seems about right haha
