So, LaCanfora says McDermott has growing cache with ownership, could be bringing in VPs or personnel figures with ties to the coach in the near future, and that the marriage likely isn't built to last.

And then McDermott says that Whaley and he worked together on all this and neither could have done it alone, that it's been a total team effort, and that "Doug and I have had healthy conversations, productive conversations, and I look forward to doing that moving forward." And that the team will speak with one voice.

And people hear McDermott's comments and say, "See, LaCanfora was wrong, and there's no problem." Really?

Does nobody notice that both of those could easily be 100% true, that they are not contradictory? They are not.

Did McDermott say how far forward he will move with Whaley? Did he say there will be no new VPs or personnel figures? Folks, this is good PR, but McDermott didn't contradict LaCanfora's report. He didn't say there isn't conflict. And he certainly didn't guarantee Whaley's future with the Bills will be long or filled with power.

What about this, "But, on Monday at the NFL owners meetings, McDermott scoffed at the notion that he and Whaley were on poor terms, let alone participating in the in-house bickering that many believe to be occurring."

Not that much. A tiger's a cat. It basically sleeps 18 hours a day.

But it does need some exercise...and for all the exercise available in the Kingdom, that should be one fat-ass tiger.

I think they don't have much to feed him which helps keep his figure down

  3. McDermott is a Jauron type of coach for me until proven otherwise. Plays a simple, conservative scheme that depends on high end defensive talent. Will do everything he can to squeeze 7 wins out of a weak roster.

Please don't make the coach the GM.

What makes you think McDermott is anything like Jauron? He played Jim Johnson's style D in Philly and went to the cover 3 zone concept under Rivera in Carolina. Jauron did a Tampa 2 here.

Yeah, thank goodness we disregarded it when he said it looked like Tyrod and the Bills would re-negotiate a new deal.

Enough with the "attack the messenger" stuff. Seems like the most common form of argument on the internet sometimes and certainly on Bills boards, the whole "I don't like the idea, so let's attack the writer" nonsense. That's probably the status quo ... if you like what's reported, you discuss it and believe it, and if you don't like it, you blame the media.

I personally wouldn't mind a bit if Whaley loses power. He doesn't seem to me to have done enough to still be here.

I actually have no problem with the message, so there goes your narrative, the fact remains that he has little credibility with me and others and was making light of that.

  5. This is a camp thing. I mean, it's fun to talk about now, but, it shouldn't determine draft tactics.

We can't pretend we have a guy we haven't seen do a thing in an NFL game.

Loolk, Whaley has been proven right more often than wrong...especially if you believe that Buddy drafted EJ(who the F knows really?)

Oh I agree, you don't count on an unknown, just saying he does have a lot of potential and people that are dismissing him because he was a 6th round pick is short sighted

  6. True.

Challenging a penalty called I can see happening, but challenging an uncalled penalty is too much.... literally every play a penalty could be called.... it will be a bigger mess then it already is in terms of the game becoming more of a joke.

Yeah I cant imagine the uncalled penalty thing unless it is limited to a Personal Foul or PI

  7. Im pulling for him, but very few 5th round WR's end up making a big difference in the NFL. Plus I'm not sure the reason for our limited passing game was lack of open receivers anyway.

But the kid has the cocky, can-do attitude that receivers need to win against NFL corners. Maybe he will defy the odds.

Meanwhile, get me a solid #2 WR in the draft please.

He supposedly slipped due to his injury, at least that's what I recall reading

And yes I want Corey Davis at 10, defense and maybe a tackle somewhere in there the rest of the way

  8. I feel like we always have guys like this, Easley, Goodwin being the most recent examples. Guys that will make one or two plays a season instead of one or two plays a game. I hope we get Mike Williams in the first round.

So we can have another person with injury concerns? I apologize if there was sarcasm there it is hard to tell on this board

I have no doubt the guy is gonna be fast....really fast.

need to see him actually run a route and catch a ball....he will impress me immediately if he actually comes back and FIGHTS for a ball in the air....would already make him better then Goodwin

Agreed, I am not here trying to make him better than he is, just that he certainly has the things that aren't teachable. Just wish he was able to get a year of NFL coaching under his belt, I think that is where he would benefit the most

  9.

So he waited a whole year to fix his pelvis? Why wait until the end of your rookie season when you are just hanging out doing nothing all season?

Well he wasn't eligible to come back until week 7, and by the time he got caught up on the offense and would make any contribution he probably wouldn't been able to play last year anyway, not that big of a deal as it looks like he should be good to go and he likely wont be behind any of the other receivers learning the offense this year as it is new to everyone.

I do wish he had a chance to learn some route running techniques from Sanjay Lal but hopefully Watkins can help teach him what he learned in that regard

  10. Rumor is WWE is trying to buy Ring Of Honor and that the show would be moved to the Network. I hope it doesn't happen. Its really the only wrestling show I sort of watch as I don't have cable. They are a good alternative to WWE (TNA is unwatchable, IMO)

Vince in a never ending quest to have a monopoly over the business.

That may be but as I understand it ROH isn't very profitable and likely wouldn't last that much longer. If they were making a good amount of money they likely wouldn't be up for sale
