Is this this team built the right way?
LABILLBACKER replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% This has to be the fix. No run game No run stop We're not winning any SB's with that combo. -
I like Morse and believe he's been unspectacular yet dependable. He's not as bad as Boettger, Ford or Williams. Obviously this organization knows the OL is it's #1 flaw. Morse's age at near 30 may factor in. My opinion is we need road graders, maulers. Especially if we stupidly insist on an open stadium. We can probably build around Brown & Dawkins but that's it. And Doyle doesn't look like he'll last either? You have decent tackles. Now find great guards and a center.

Yes it will

"Just give it to them"...that's why you don't challenge. The refs were never reversing that terrible spot. McD's history of challenges is awful. I don't know if I want McD fired? He's great at his culture, process and player loyalty (to a fault). But he kinda sucks at being a game day tactician. And his time management is also bad. His loyalty for Edmunds is absolutely ridiculous.

We'll see what kind of "contract dimension" he'll bring after next year is over. I doubt he gets resigned. There's gotta be multiple MLB's out there who can both pass cover and stop the run. Thank you. I've been saying this for 2 years. In this so called passing league there sure are alot of afc teams who like to run right at Edmunds. And when that happens it's like we're playing with 10.

O..o the Wells Fargo wagon is coming down the street..

How about just no wind. Is that so much to ask.

This is actually what they should do. After losing to NE the way we did, we're in more desperation mode. Let it all hang out. Blitz more, use the whole frickin playbook. The weather should cooperate. No crazy winds, 5-10mph. Let it all hang out.

Is it worth seeing if Antonio Williams should get a shot?
LABILLBACKER replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall
We don't have the luxury to wait 5 years when Josh is 30 to slowly develop Olineman. The Chargers literally turned their awful OL around in 1 off season. Sorry BAD, not buying it. -

This is an excellent draft sequence. -

Completely agree. Let Singletary be your semi serviceable RB1. Give Breida one more chance at redemption. If he screws up then he's done. Activate Williams immediately. I know our OL blocking is pathetic and there's few gaps if any at all. But we have to try everything. Moss is probably done. -
The '21 Bills are sleepwalking to the playoffs
LABILLBACKER replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
We started sleepwalking week 1. Let's not kid ourselves besides Watt, the Steelers are bad. Then we win 4 and go 4-1. Pundits start anointing us SB worthy. It gets in our heads during Instagram practices. Then the Jags game changed the narrative of the whole season. We are a talented yet non physical team underachieving. Our greatest weakness is the OL and teams are exploiting that. Our 2nd biggest weakness is our front 7 stopping run heavy teams. Trenches, trenches, trenches.....we've heard this a million times. Fix these 2 areas and hope the coaches stop making mistakes. We can't waste Josh like the Angels waste Trout..... -
If I were McD, knowing I might have the most dynamic qb in Bills history, I'd start building a 90's Dallas OL around him. Then all of a sudden a run game pops up. Then less pressure goes on Allen. If you want to return to 12-13 win seasons, this has to happen. After Brown and Dawkins, no one is safe.

Because when you hit a HR on a superstar qb, it can mask other deficiencies. Picking Josh was so over the top amazing that we tend to give Beane a pass on other semi-failed high picks. We knew wholeheartedly last season the OL was an issue, but JA's 13-3 heroics allowed McB to "run it back" with basically the same roster. Now I think they probably wish they had focused a little more on the OL. Not all their picks have been bad but I would say if you're dealing with 1-3 rounds since 2018, it's 50-50.
