  1. KC made it to the playoffs with him playing 11 regular season games and both postseason games. See what I mean about CHOOSING what we focus on? Pessimism may be your bag, but it ain't mine. I SAID GOOD DAY, SIR!!!
  2. Mitch Morse is a former Pro Bowler and was the starting center for a record setting offense that made the AFC championship last year. ^ Those are also facts. We choose what to focus on, and you routinely choose to focus on the negative, just like ScottLaw. Good day, sir.
  3. Hey look! ScottLaw's best friend is here to chime in with some more pessimism! Yaaayyyyy!
  4. There are two ways of looking at things in life: Glass half full and glass half empty. A "glass half empty" person says "pffft. 6th round pick. Who cares?" A "glass half full" person sees that the player was going to get cut anyway, so the Bills just got a free draft pick. You are always, always, ALWAYS a "glass half empty" person when it comes to the Bills. That's fine. That's your prerogative. It just gets grating after a while. It must be a real bummer of a way to go through life.
  5. This will be the ultimate test of the "Belichick turns scrubs into Pro Bowlers" theory. If he can get RUSS BODINE playing good football? Well...
  6. ....People DO realize that Belichick already knows Daboll's playbook because...well...because Daboll's playbook IS Belichick's playbook? Sheesh.
  7. You obviously don't understand how impressive it is to get compensation of ANY kind in return for a player you were going to cut for nothing. Oh, and one more thing: This year's 7th rounders, Sweeney and Johnson, are about to make this roster and contribute. ScottLaw gonna ScottLaw, I guess. Can't help himself.
  8. I am truly stunned. There is no WAY that Bodine was going to make this roster. In the past two days, Beane has turned two players that were going to get cut into a 5th round pick and two 6th round picks. Beane is one of the best I've ever seen at recouping value for guys that aren't in the Bills' short or long term plans anyway. Another way of saying it is that Beane is a ***** wizard, and he should probably be investigated by some legal apparatus for multiple robberies.
  9. The meaning I took from last night's win? Our team CARES. They love each other, they play for each other, they care about winning, and they're genuinely invested in the team's success. Go watch the sideline after the punt return touchdown last night. Then go watch it again after Tyree threw the game winning pass. Don't tell these guys the preseason doesn't matter. And I'm telling you...not every team is this way. Not every group of men around the NFL are as invested as this team is. Forget the 4-0 record, although as John Harbaugh says: "We like to get in the habit of winning". Concentrate on the execution of fundamentals, the fact that the Bills escaped preseason without any major injuries, and the fact that the team truly cares and loves each other. Something special's brewing in lovely western New York...
  10. I know it's just preseason, but that was cool. The sideline was so excited. It's so clear they love each other and play for each other and they all genuinely care and want to win. That is NOT the case everywhere across the league. Like they said on commentary, something special is brewing with this team. Like John Harbaugh (winner of 16 straight preseason games) said: "We like to get in the habit of winning."
  11. I disagree with your contentions that Spain and Long have not been good. Apparently, so does the coaching staff. I've seen this said a few times, but I disagree with it. McDermott is strictly a tackle, and hasn't really impressed this preseason. To me, it means the door is now wide open for Ryan Bates. Bates has looked better at tackle than McDermott, and can also play center and both guard positions. Dawkins - Spain - Morse - Ford - Nsekhe Depth: Long, Feliciano, Bates, Boettger/possible waiver claim. They'll either keep 8 O-linemen or 9. If it's 9, I won't be surprised if the 9th guy isn't currently a Bill.
  12. Great post, and I think you're exactly right on both of your last points. Bates made this trade possible and offers versatility that Teller did not. Spain will be ready for the opener. Oh, and one more thing: the way that Beane is able to recoup draft picks for players that weren't in the Bills' future plans anyway has been masterful thus far in his tenure as GM. Another feather in his cap, this.
  13. I liked Teller, too. But the fact is that he had fallen on the depth chart and was no lock to make this roster anyway. It's possible they just flipped someone who was going to be cut for a 5th round pick. Another way of looking at it is that he originally COST the Bills a 5th round pick, so they've recouped what they spent on him and swapped a 7th in two years for a 6th next year in the process.
  14. I just can't see Jaquan Johnson clearing waivers. He has played REALLY well this preseason and offseason, and I'm not sure they want to risk him. While Vosean Joseph hasn't shown much, I'd still feel nervous waiving him, as well. I'd rather see those two kept at the expense of Dean Marlow and Deon Lacy, respectiely.
  15. You're the first person to ever say this. Great, hard hitting, original, thought provoking content. Well done.
  16. Great find. I'm now rooting for a Bills loss. Alright, Tyree. Forget what I said. Keep being yourself. You got this.
  17. As most probably know, the Bills have NEVER gone 4-0 in the preseason. I know, I know, who cares? Their chances to do so this year took a big hit when it was announced that Tyree Jackson would start the whole game. D'oh!
  18. I know that at the end of the evaluation process, the Bills had Josh Allen ranked as their number 1 QB in the draft. It worked out well for them that the first two teams taking QBs didn't see things that way. t's funny, looking back, knowing that the Dolphins were looming and wanted a QB, that they wound up with Rosen just a year later. I also remember hearing on draft night that the Cardinals LOVED Josh Allen and were absolutely crushed when they couldn't jump the Bills to get him. Not surprising, then, that they player they "settled" for, Josh Rosen, is no longer a Cardinal. Oh, and one of the little tidbits I found interesting: Josh was scheduled to fly to New Jersey to meet with the Jets after his workout here, but his flight was cancelled, so he stayed in Buffalo for the night and wound up having dinner at Bar Bill with some of the Bills braintrust and bonding more. Kind of neat. Last but not least: I don't want to be a downer, but speaking of the plane turbulence thing: They make it sound pretty serious in the article. Like, Daboll was Facetiming with his wife because he thought they might not make it. Can you imagine if that plane DIDN'T make it, and the Pegulas, Beane, and McDermott, well, ya know...Yikes. I don't want to even ponder that reality. Phew.
  19. I'll just say this: It would be stupid to cut Zay Jones. You want to trade him? Sure, fine. But cut him outright? That's silly. A healthy third year receiver coming off a season where he had about 700 yards receiving and 7 touchdowns? That's not a guy you just cut. I'm not saying he'd fetch a huge haul, but I think you could get, at worst, a 5th round pick for him. Hell, even a SEVENTH round pick is better than just cutting him (see: Sweeney, Johnson).
  20. This article alone is a good reason to get a trial subscription to the Athletic, if you don't have one already. It's articles like this that make me feel that my money is well spent.
  21. I'm not sure where my original post stated anything about how he's played lately. I simply pointed out that he's a top all time kicker and it was nice that the Seahawks messed up and let him go. That being said...I get the Bills fans are nervous about him, but the worry is a bit overblown, in my opinion. If you want to see a kicking game that gives real cause for concern, go look at the Bears or the Jets.
  22. Meh. He was admittedly bad at the end of last year, but it mostly came after the cheap shot when he was clearly dealing with injury. This preseason, he's been rotating between two holders every other time he kicks the ball. We'll see how things shake out come regular season. The fact that Hauschka says in the article that he had a really good spring and summer and the fact that the Bills re-signed him and Beane has full confidence leads me to believes the team is not at all worried.
  23. The question, now that the Bills appear set to keep 4 DEs instead of 5, is where will that extra roster spot go? 7 WRs? 7 LBs? 4 TEs? An extra DB? Should be interesting.
  24. Hauschka's 86.7% career field goal conversion rate ranks 7th all time in the NFL. He also holds the record for most consecutive made field goals from 50+ yards at 14. Yeah, that's right: Stephen Hauschka is a top 10 all time kicker in the NFL. The Seahawks were silly to let him go after one down season, and their error has benefitted the Bills greatly.
