Brandon Beane interviews 9/7 and 9/8
Logic replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I want to re-sign Milano, the Bills did the right thing by locking up the LT and CB. Two most important non-QB positions in football. That being said, I expect the Bills to make every effort to re-sign Milano after this season. Assuming he wants to stay in Buffalo -- and why wouldn't he? -- I'd bet it gets done. While it's a small sample size to draw from, so far, when Beane says "we want X player in Buffalo for the long haul", it means they're going to sincerely try as hard as possible to re-sign the player. Beane said this about Milano. As long as Milano doesn't want the moon, he should remain a Bill going forward. -
Predict the home opener uniforms
Logic replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wearing whit-on-white in early September when its still warm out is just smart. Take every advantage you can get. P.S. The Bills all-white away throwbacks are the best uniform in the NFL -
Question: Is Moss pushing Devin to start?
Logic replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe Singletary will be the "starter" and get the lion's share of carries through about week 6. After that, it's anyone's guess. For what it's worth, all reports thus far seem to indicate that Moss has been doing a better job in pass protection and with ball security. If he continues to be superior to Singletary in those two areas, look for him to take the "Starter" mantle away by midseason. -

The first division win in over two decades and the first playoff win in a quarter century?! Anyone who says they wouldn’t be happy with that is a loon. -
Which Bills did you draft in fantasy?
Logic replied to BuffaloBillies's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My “main” league — 12 team PPR — is drafting tonight. I’ve already missed out on Diggs in another league, and I want to make sure I get him this time. I think I need to take him a full round early. Perhaps in the 4th. I believe he will have a monster season. -

10-team league: Josh Allen Bills Defense Missed out on Stefon Diggs by just a couple of picks. Darn it. -
Great post. I really like the roster, from top to bottom. The practice squad has quite a few guys that may end up seeing active duty this year. Cam Lewis, Dane Jackson, Bryan Cox, Evan Boehm, and Duke Williams, just to name a few. In the event of COVID infections or injuries, the Bills have a nice squad of players to pull from. They also have a few long-term "upside" investments on either the active roster or the practice squad, like Trey Adams, Darryl Johnson, and Jake Fromm.
-
I like Taylor, but I'm not too bothered that he was claimed. It seemed like Tanzel Smart had a really good camp. Hopefully he makes Buffalo's practice squad.
-
Del'Shawn Phillips. We didn't hear a PEEP about him in camp, and not a single Bills reporter had him making the 53-man roster. For him to beat out last year's fifth round pick, Vosean Joseph, AND Corey Thompson (who has already proven he can play in this league)...he must have really had a great camp. I'm excited to see him in action. Might be another "diamond in the rough" find from Beane the Wizard.

Sure you can.

The fact that this thread is at eight pages speaks to the problem itself: Mask wearing should not be a controversial issue. Mask wearing should not be a political issue. If, from the beginning, mask wearing had been neither a controversial nor political issue in the United States, we'd have lost thousands of less people, and we'd all be back to a version of life much closer to "normal" by now. The fact that mask wearing IS controversial and political and has thus led to so many unnecessary deaths and the prolonging of this pandemic in our country leads me to fear that the movie "Idiocracy" has come true. As a prominent epidemiologist said: "We have an acute affection of politics in our public health policy".

The designation of "starter" for any d-linemen on the Bills doesn't mean much. The Bills defense rotates d-linemen as much as any team in the league. Whoever "starts" a game may or may not have more total snaps by the final whistle than someone who "wasn't a starter". It doesn't really matter.

Tre White agrees to contract extension
Logic replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm late to this thread, but I just wanted to say this anyway... I am sooooo glad the Bills re-signed Tre White. He is my absolute favorite Buffalo Bill, and it's not even close. He's an elite player, a great teammate, a great role model, a great member of the community, and a great man. In terms of the being the type of guy you give big money to, he checks every box you could possibly want and then some. We all figured this would get done, but nothing is a guarantee in the NFL. I am so, so glad I will get to watch this man in action in a Buffalo Bills jersey for the next several years. GO BILLS!!! -
Call it: Who will lead the NFL in these key categories?
Logic replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poyer, eh? I like it! -
I mean... I would argue that the value a team gets out of its core special teams players is greater than the value they get out of, say, a 7th WR or 10th o-linemen who will rarely suit up for game day. Just my opinion.

It really is a shame that Two Bills Drive is the only website on the whole internet where you can get the Bills’ schedule.

I do not believe the Bills will have any trouble stopping the Jets offense. The only way the Bills lose this game, in my opinion, is if the Jets defense is able to confuse and frustrate Josh Allen. Even though the Jets don't have great defensive personnel, a complex blitz package drawn up by Gregg Williams has the potential to cause Allen to have a very bad day. Until Allen proves that he can recognize and defeat heavy blitz packages, teams are going to keep throwing them at him. With all that being said: On defense: Sam Darnold had one of the worst passer ratings in the league last year when pressured. Furthermore, the Jets offensive line hasn't been together long, so testing their communication with line stunts and various blitzes should prove fruitful. The Bills, then, should have a package of blitzes involving Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, and Siran Neal. I won't pretend to know what the best coverage schemes would be against the Jets, or whether the Bills should play more man, cover 2, cover 3, etc. I trust McDermott and Frazier already know the answer to that question. In both of the Bills games against the Jets last year, our defense handled their offense fairly easily. I don't see that changing. On offense: The one consistently negative thing about Gregg Williams defenses is that they are prone to mistakes. Daboll should dial up some misdirection, motions, and creative pass sets to get the Jets defensive players over-thinking. No-huddle, hurry-up offense out of 11 personnel should be the order of the day. Don't let the Jets defense get into its complicated blitz packages. Keep them in basic defense by running no-huddle. Let's see if they are able to successfully cover the trio of Diggs, Beasley, and Brown, and let's see if Allen can consistently find the best matchup and deliver accurate passes. Again I say, the only way I see the Jets winning this one is if Allen totally melts down. If he doesn't, it should be a sure Bills victory.

The bigger qualm I have with the Hall is its total lack of special teams representation. One kicker, one punter, no other special teams players. Nonsense.
-
When it comes to Hall of Fame inclusion, I’ve always subscribed to the criteria “can you tell the story of the NFL without including this player?” In the case of Joe Namath, you cannot.
