  1. Talent evaluators I trust have always liked Hamler and expected a breakout. Though the odds clearly have diminished and expectations should be kept in check, would be great if it finally happened here.
  2. I don't think we're saying very different things. My contention is that they have over invested in the defense and they always come up short when it matters and that is true - with a defensive coach to boot. We need more playmakers and it would be helpful if we amassed them around the centerpiece of the team. What you're saying confirms my point. The offense kept them in despite the flurry of points on the other side and just didn't have enough pieces to fully get it done.
  3. Very balanced take and hard to disagree! Just hard to trust he will do what it takes to put the team over the top this time when it always felt like they just needed another piece or two on offense outside of the 13 seconds year, where they just plain blew it. Will have to agree to disagree on this one. Diggs he deserves credit for but anyone could see they needed a serious talent infusion at WR. My belief is they've routinely over-invested in defense that has come up woefully short in every single moment that has mattered over the last 3 seasons, and that starts philosophically at the top.
  4. I don't think the criticism should be as a result of this draft. What he did is fine - but we have never focused on the offense or giving Josh the weapons that he needs to put this team over the top during a period in which Beane swore "he was never going all in". Now we have a "reset" year in the prime of Josh's career. That is not ok and a result of previous failures that he deserves a lot of criticism for.
  5. Sure, but the dark side of the reality is you're wasting a year of Josh's prime. Always good to look glass half full and there are longer term reasons for optimism, but let's not bury the lead.
  6. Maybe said head coach should perform better in the biggest moments? His defense crumbles when it matters most - and that may be putting it kindly.
  7. Not saying you're wrong, but I just didn't see that at all from the replay.
  8. Thought you were going to talk about the weird fakes Miami kept doing to no one there. I know it's eye candy but not sure how that would even get a split second hesitation.
  9. Teams don't actually think like that. It's a divisional rival and the backups have something to prove. Not sure they care about a team they likely feel confident they can beat, that controls their own destiny anyway, getting in.
  10. Not the exact response you were looking for, but if I remember correctly Diggs motioned to come off for at least a couple of them.
  11. Not really a debate IMO. Maybe Benford close but not Dane.
  12. Of media creation only, maybe. We're lucky to have Diggs but regardless would be good to draft a guy that can eventually become your new stud.
