Divisional Round: Vikings @ 49ers
Boatdrinks replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A nice tip of the cap to Neil Peart and Rush with limelight as the music fill before commercial break. Bravo, NBC. There’s always something on point with their music selection during football broadcasts. -

If Phillips/ Lawson leave, those positions are needs. You’d like to upgrade atCB opposite White, but they were pretty good vs the pass this season. The offense was bottom third in the NFL most of the season, so that’s a much greater need. The Bills’ defense is just fine if the offense is top 12 or so. -
I wouldn’t call 19 years “ quick “. Their playoff demise this season came quickly, but Brady is still there ( for now) . As much as I’d love to bury them after a torturously long run, I can’t say they’re done just yet. Considering the QBs that are not playing for the remainder of this postseason, it very well could happen. That ground attack is a huge assist to Tannehill , and a key to winning on the road in January. I wouldn’t bet on it, but I wouldn’t be that surprised either.

Exactly. Pursue an upgrade or replace with a similar but less expensive player. Shaq isn’t worth game changer money. He’s developed into a nice player, but not what you’d hope for given his draft position. Some team might overpay Lawson, but the Bills should not.

Cody Ford fined over 28k for illegal blind side block
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They always want Patriots. Brady grounds the ball with no consequence, and offensive holding is rarely called against them. They get their subtle assistance every game, but this year’s version of the Pats still wasn’t good enough vs a physical team like TEN. -

How do you explain away the illegal hit on Josh Allen that followed, especially with the emphasis on “ player safety” ? Did they just miss it ? There were zero flags thrown on HOU in play at all , in almost 5 quarters of football. There definitely is subtle bias by refs toward certain “ good teams” . There is also huge bias by the NFL when certain big markets are involved, and that’s when you get games like we saw last Saturday. -

Just serves as another distraction from the points they frantically took off the board for the Bills on the 2nd half KO. So dumb. Viewing this alongside with the Clowney hit is mind boggling. -

Interesting. Bills absolutely need an infusion of proven talent on offense. They should definitely draft a WR, but can rely on just waiting for that player to develop. Best to give them a limited role in 2020 while giving Allen a couple more pieces to raise the overall production. Year 3 will have a huge role in Allen’s future as the starting QB. They can’t wonder if he had enough around him to work with. -
At the end of the day... narrative social justice triggered that being said... systemic generational GOAT

An incredible talent. Easily one of the best rock drummers ever and a remarkable lyricist as well. RIP Neil

Neither. Hate ‘em both pretty equally.

Way too early 2020 season expectations

At minimum a playoff victory. Anything less is a step back. -
Yeah, it’s probably an area of need. While Barkley performed better with the starters last season, they’ve been lucky with Josh not missing time. I’m not convinced they couldn’t have a better player to keep the season afloat if the worst happened and Allen was sidelined for a stretch.

The Rooney Rule (still) isn’t working?
Boatdrinks replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I will just agree to disagree. It’s not about whether I like a topic or not, but things aren’t as bad as you paint them to be. You just can’t believe everything that the doomsayers spoon feed you as fact. Narratives they bombard you with until you’ve accepted it and made it part of your daily outlook. Go Bills! -
The Rooney Rule (still) isn’t working?
Boatdrinks replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow , where to start ? What a load of nonsense. Perhaps some players were asked to switch positions to a skill position such as WR etc because they were athletically superior to the other candidates . Imagine that ! That’s a typical high school football type move, where you put the best athlete at QB. That wasn’t thought to work at the NFL level because of the level of overall talent on pro rosters. That’s been somewhat disproven lately by Lamar Jackson, but the jury is out as far as it being an effective long term strategy. The risk of injury for that type of QB play is much higher, so we will see. So much nonsense about racism going around these days. Even permeating sports, which is just entertainment and for many a refuge from outside noise around us every day. -

Was wondering when ESPN was going to start their ceremonial whining about the coaching hires. Haven’t watched since Wingo and fat LeBetard piled on the Bills and Josh. Anyway, it was only a matter of time before you could cue up the outrage. Oddly enough, I never hear them decry the lack of diversity in the player ranks. Look, to me it’s a non issue. I don’t care who decides they want to pursue football at the high school level, college etc. However, these clowns politicize a non political thing almost as a pastime. They and certain “ newspapers” will carry on about the lack of diversity among MLB players and what should be done about it. The answer is ....NOTHING. Exactly what should be done about the ethnic makeup of NFL rosters and their respective coaching staffs. Houston, we do not have a problem ! -
Good Twitter Thread Breaking Down Allen vs. Houston
Boatdrinks replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure about Gore, as a defender usually makes contact quickly. McKenzie has hit the turf untouched at least half a dozen times that I can recall this season, so I’d venture that he’s the team leader in that department. Not sure if it’s just terrible balance, cleat issue or what. -

Agreed. Glad as a Bills fan I don’t have to see clips of our HC saying he’s “ rich as F*&$” etc. -

I get that it’s a missed opportunity, but tap the brakes on McKenzie a bit. That guy gets caught by the turf monster more than any other Bill, I think. He’s fallen down on his own countless times this season, so it may have been just a nice gainer once he bit the dust. He’s another guy that doesn’t care for Josh Allen. Ergo- expert. Only one team scored more than the Bills this WC weekend. That was the Houston Texans. No one scored 24, so who the heck is “ everyone else ? “. I’d bet that all the QBs still playing and the ones that lost to them left plays out on the field. -
Judge Joe Brown ? Judge Judy ?
-
They went shopping, not on a bender.
-
Both teams battled hard. One team benefitted greatly from bad calls and eventually won the game. What of the Texans team that got down 16-0 on their own field? Seems like they might have stunk a bit. Your take that it’s okay for one team to commit fouls and not suffer any consequences for it is awful.

There may be an argument for replenishing the CB position via the draft. It’s a matter of organizational philosophy. My guess is the Bills will retain White , and are now not opposed to paying top CBs a second contract as an organization. -
Allen slammed on ESPN

He slowed up because that pass from Brown had a bit too much air under it. To borrow a line from another poster “ you’re an idiot”.!
