I agree about building around Allen. As for the O line, there is a disconnect right now. They have O linemen that seem more effective as maulers, and they have a RB in Shady that dances. Either they need to get back to the blocking schemes they used last year that worked for Shady or go with anther RB like Ivory as the primary guy. Last night I was yelling at the screen when they ran those Wildcat sweeps too many times. We don't have a line that can do that routinely, and after the surprise factor wore off it was a waste of plays. Daboll messed up their. Next year, they have to spend resources on the line. Football is still won or lost in the trenches.

Bring in new guys.. I suspect they will be looking at FAs like a Hyde or Poyer, a little under the radar but really solid guys. Hopefully at WR and especially O line. I expect a WR to be drafted day one or two. Maybe two. But the T word. I'm think that word should be banned. I suspect everyone at ONE BD would as well.

Revisionist history yet again. at the time people thought Woods was overpriced, no one wanted Goodwin because he couldn't stay on the field. Brown got roasted routinely around here. They have been very clear that they need to rebuild the team from what was in existence when they arrived. that is true. But stop with the stuff about not trying to improve at say WR. They brought in Kerley in FA, tried Coleman, had a ton of WR in camp. Took a shot at the guy who went to the Ravens. O line they went out and got their starting C in FA, and it is just a reflection of that fact that the O line talent in the league overall is lacking. And so on.

There is not a chance they are losing on purpose. How many threads are we going to see that cry about the same damn thing? Here is the reality: our offense stinks right now. It stinks because we lost a couple linemen we didn't plan on losing, in a league where linemen are at a premium. We have a rookie QB that was playing till he got hurt, and now we have to use a backup - and exactly how many times do teams playing rookie QBs or backups do well? Our WR corps is not that great either, and we have a RB that is beginning to show signs of age, and who is trying like hell to help the team but whose dancing around is right now hurting rather than helping. So they need a major infusion of talent on that side of the ball. Now, how do they get that? By sticking to their plan. They came to town with a plan to reinvent the team. They have cap space and raft picks to start doing that. We will see how they do with that. Right now we don't know, despite all this crap about not being able to evaluate talent, etc, etc. etc. blah, blah, blah. The rest of this year will suck. No question. So will reading that same old crap from the same old people with the same old lines about firing people. When every single person here knows that's not happening.

No. Most coaches talk like this. They aren't going to get all emotional.

I guess my question would be how one defines strong ownership. Some like Kraft get more involved in day to day things and are successful and others like Snyder or Jerry aren't successful. Some stay hands off and it works, some don't.

Manziel would not be a better QB for any team in the NFL.

Should they hope to draft a QB in the 6th round that turns out to be the best ever? They screwed the pooch with the Ryan hire. No question. So they have brought in a young new HC that was on everyone's short list, and also a young GM that had earned his stripes and his shot. They presented a plan to the owners, and they are following through. Whether it works or not is an open question as it would have been for anyone they hired. And the guys they hired broke the playoff drought last year. They're doing the same with their hockey team, which is showing signs that they are becoming a good team this year. So, again, what exactly should they be doing? Oh, and I did all that without using capital letters.

This kind of stuff should be banned from the board. Right. Beane finagled a way to have Wood come up with a spinal condition that threatened his career and life. And he somehow arranged for Richie to lose his mind. Crafty guy, that Beane. And if he works out it will be brilliant.

You know why they don't have a rookie paying on offense right now? Because the rookie QB is hurt. The rookie QB. That pretty much everyone claiming to be a BIlls fan has yelled since the retirement of Jimbo that they had to try and get if they want to go anywhere.

I was one of them. As were many other individuals here and more importantly many other teams in the league.

I get where you're coming from, but the offense really is bad. I'm not sure there were that many things that could have been done, but the O is just terrible.

It will take more than one offseason. One can only assume they focus on offense this coming offseason.

The offense is bad. Absolutely. It hurt when they lost two interior linemen in the offseason. It hurts that Benjamin is not stepping up. It looks like Shady may be starting to feel his age. And it hurt that our young QB got hurt. All those add together to make things look bad. Now, what would the fixes have been? Let's talk O line first. Quality O linemen are at an extreme premium across the league right now. They thought Groy would be a capable C, and they got what might have been the only other available decent guy at the position in Bodine. Drafted Teller and picked up Boettiger for the interior, but they're apparently not ready yet, although I would like to see them in there. So O line I'm not sure there was much else to do, maybe draft a guy in round 3 vs. Phillips, but Phillips is a solid addition to the D line. WRs? Benjamin is half assing it, and they should trade him today in my opinion. Jones is coming on. They should have kept Kerley I think. And they should have maybe kept Reilly, although no one else apparently thinks he's worth much. Again, there are a bunch of guys who are guys out there. You can change the deck chairs on the Titanic, like bringing in Pryor, but it's still the Titanic. QB. They were not going to be in the market ever for guys like Keenum because they were not going to lock up a ton of cap space when they knew they were drafting their guy. I have said over and over they expected, as did I. that McCarron should have been their guy but he didn't perform. And at that point in time, they should have gotten a guy like Anderson in, or traded for a guy like say Bridgewater, although he was already gone by then. Arguments can be made for and against starting Allen early, and his injury? Injuries happen. If he's not hurt then I don't know if our record is any different, but he's getting experience. And I am quite sure that no matter who they brought in as a vet QB, and presuming he plays while Allen sits, that their record is any different than it is now. McDermott and Beane have been as clear as they can be. They consider it a rebuild, and they have a ton of cap space and picks next year. Believe me, if they don't use the bulk of that ammunition to improve the offense I'll be screaming as loud as anyone. And if I'm Terry I'd lose my mind. But as for this season, I'm just not sure there was a lot they could have done to improve things all tat much.

It always makes me laugh when folks around here talk about the worst in the history of the team for whatever factor they want to rant about that day, when they clearly have no clue as to the actual history of the team. As long as Harvey Johnson is part of Bills history, the title of worst GM in history is secure. So now we're judging WRs by tackles broken. Honestly, take your rug out and start nap time early today.
