  1. Agreed. The incident with EJ prompted my email to him where he got all snarky. I felt he made himself part of the story, and to me journalists should not do that.
  2. So I live just outside Indy now, and my 23 year old daughter was born and raised here. But I raised her as a Bills fan, and she is as rabid as anyone I grew up with. One of my proudest parent moments was when she was in elementary school and they would have Colts Spirit Day on the Fridays before games. She would proudly wear her Bills gear every Friday. And maybe tied with that was her one woman show in college (she's majored in music theater and is a performer now), when she altered the lyrics to Adeline's Lament from Guys and Dolls and made it into a tribute to Bills fans. Need to get her in with Bills marketing to sing the anthem at a home game... As for me, proudly wear my Bills varsity jacket all winter, and am rarely without something Bills related on my person. Don't get much hassle, and if I do I hold my head high.
  3. Answer this question for me. Do players ever improve with experience in the league, or do they never improve over what they do as rookies?
  4. I emailed Graham one time to offer comment about an article he wrote about EJ. And his response was immature and frankly nasty. Let me ask this: if reporters don't want interaction with readers why do they go on Twitter and why at the end of their columns do they put their emails and ask for comments?
  5. Tell you what. Read one of his articles, email him and challenge him on it, and we'll see if you think he'd be entertaining when you get his response. I have no problem with columnists being critical (although just being incessantly negative gets old). But Graham, Sullivan, and Gleason all were the same; dare to offer an opinion that differed from theirs and all they'd do is resort to insult vs, have an actual intellectual debate. They should not be missed by anyone.
  6. Entertaining until you dare to suggest he might be wrong on something. Then he acts like a three year old. A very talented writer but a child in some ways.
  7. Not that I remember, I responded to him by email and his return email was just chilidish. The old if you don't like it tough, don't read it. Great way to build your readership.
  8. BBMB should be, the message board sponsored by the team before they closed it.
  9. I don't know that Rodak is that bad. He says some thing fans don't like but so did very respected guys like Felser back in the day. Don't know if Rodak is thin skinned, but I know Graham needs to grow a pair. I dared to offer a rebuttal to him via email in one of his articles and he was just snide and completely unprofessional. And from reading in this site and the old BBMC I am far from the only one who experienced his wrath. Graham can write great stuff (like his Talley article if memory serves correct) which it makes it all the more puzzling why he chooses to be a jerk.
  10. Thank you. I teach physiology and anatomy for med students, and as you know this could be dozens if not hundreds of things.
  11. It is not the job of commentators to be cheerleaders for the team in their town. It is also not their job to be reflexively negative about every single thing the team does. I listen on line to the morning guys on WGR and they certainly tend towards the latter. And I listened a couple times to the afternoon guys and gave up when they kept hanging up on callers instead of engaging in dialog.
  12. I'd like to see him out of the league
  13. I don't think it's necessary given the current cap room and the amount projected for next year.
  14. A little too general, not enough detail, but I think you're headed in the right direction
  15. Oliver. No question.
  16. Live just outside Indy and wear my Bills varsity jacket every day. Have my sign outside my house. And the thing I'm proudest of is that my older daughter, born and raised here, wore her Bills stuff every time they had Colt's Spirit day when she was in school. Get some static simetimes times but I love it.
  17. Let the police do their work. I understand it's a massage board and people want to express opinions but doing so without any info is a waste of time. If he did this he'll get arrested and my hope is he never plays again. Beating up a little kid is inexcusable.
  18. One gets the feeling they were not happy with the O line last year.
  19. I live outside Indy now, but grew up in Tonawanda and have lived in or spent lengthy time in big cities like NYC, Chicago, Houston. And what I don't get is this idea that a city like Buffalo doesn't have what big cities have and therefore isn't as attractive a destination. So what exactly is needed? Professional athletes have pretty involved professional lives and in their free time they do what onther young men do. They'll want some night life, places to eat, etc. Well, you can find all that in Buffalo, right? Some nice bars, plenty of unique places to eat. I know it's been a while since I've been back but everything I read and everything relatives tell me is that the city is revitalized. I mean, you can only eat in one place and party at one bar at a time, right?
  20. The QB is always the de facto leader of a team, but some do not take to the role very well. Fergy was that type of guy in Bills history, never seemed comfortable in that role. Allen not only is the facto leader, but wants that role. And from what I've seen so far he'll be good in that role. Like all the second year QBs he has work to do and improvements to make. But he seems to have the work ethic, leadership skills and respect of teammates that are essential if he is to succeed.
  21. I think they may stand pat for a while. See what comes to them in the draft.
  22. Your opinion. Doesn't make it fact. Beane is in a position to do whatever he wants. Someone will want to move up for a QB most likely.
  23. My recollection was that Darby got traded because he couldn't keep his mouth shut in the locker room, and the new regime didn't want that kind of crap. He's a good CB but coming off injury iso teams are cautious.
  24. Beane is in the cat bird's seat right now. He can go whatever way he chooses.
  25. One could say OJ; picking him was the impetus to the new stadium and kept the team in Buffalo. And of course Kelly. I'll throw Mike Stratton out there. His hit in Keith Lincoln paved the way for their first AFL championship which in turn solidified the fan base.
