It can certainly be both. Sure there’s always a party at Hammer’s, that’s not my scene, but those who partake clearly enjoy it and good for them, I’m not trying to pee on anyone’s parade. The overall feel that monday night was definitely on the mellow side. The walk into the stadium is usually a pretty good gauge and it was relatively calm for a primetime, division game. It didn’t have that continual raucous din. Crowd was up for kickoff, but when the Pats started to pull away, the building was deflated. And yeah things change over the years, no doubt. The lots are policed better and things are tamped down compared to say MNF in ‘07.

This right here is what’s kept my crew together for at least the last 10 seasons.

I misread your previous post, thought you were saying it wasn’t that bad. It was crazy and a ton of fun. I only snapped a few pics bc my screen was soaked with snow every time I tried to take my phone out. My pics from 12:30 inside the stadium are crazy, you can’t even see the upper deck.

Well as for the Colts game, that was a weather event like no other for a home game here. Plus we live in a hyper-alert age with constant alerts and warning and weather projections etc., and regardless if the storm hits or not people will be scared away. People were right to stay away, the conditions were brutal for driving in the immediate area of the stadium postgame. Clear as day as soon as we hit Rt 5.

If this team is ever in serious contention in december again that barn will be full, roof or not. I will add that I do think regularly cramming three home games here in December is a bit of an attempt at sway by the league to prod ownership towards a new building.

The feel has been flat at home all season. The opener is usually pretty buzzing but the heat was already oppressive and then the Chargers ate our lunch and kicked our dog. MNF was probably the tamest primetime crowd I’ve ever experienced. It’s not going to be any better the rest of this season as the record and weather gets worse, however we are always creative with our menu and our tailgate crew always has fun bustin each other’s chops. I’d say if you want the real full experience, early next season is your best bet.
