  1. Kevyn Adams: “goaltending isn’t the reason we are losing games”. It may not be the only reason, but it’s definitely part of the reason. Every game JJ or Hutton let in at least 1 soft, back breaking goal. Im not sure why Vogl is assuming that it means no tickets were bought by season ticket holders (just because there are tickets left to be sold to the general public doesn’t mean that season ticket holders didn’t buy some of the available tickets, unless he has other info he’s not sharing in this tweet), but it would be funny if true.
  2. This short clip in the tweet is a Good listen. Our former captains were dead on. Krueger looks in over his head and The void in leadership has been a big issue since this rebuild started. If you want to listen to the entire interview, the part of the podcast with Tim Graham starts about 20mins in. Heres the article with our former captains: https://theathletic.com/2426679/2021/03/05/former-sabres-captains-weigh-in-on-teams-woes-a-whole-new-kind-of-unwatchable/ Former Sabres captains weigh in on team’s woes: ‘A whole new kind of unwatchable’ (athletic sub. req)
  3. 🤢🤮 I’ll never root for them to fail again. Especially a “complete failure” (which sounds bad). All of the failing has done too much damage. I don’t want to see Eichel demand out. I don’t want to see Dahlin and all our other young players continue to be ruined by all the losing. I don’t want to see all these guys spirits just absolutely broken. It’s honestly difficult to watch. This team is killing so many players and fans love for the game and it’s painful to see. Nothing good has come from all the losing. And this draft sucks *** anyway. There’s not even a top player. There’s like 5-10 different guys you could argue could be drafted #1. What are we even rooting for with the losing? Adams getting fired? Krueger getting fired? What gives you confidence that they’ll replace him with anyone better (and don’t say “well Anyone would be better” because that’s not true, as we’ve seen ourselves. We always think the next guy can’t be worse and he is.). I suggest indifference, instead. 😂
  4. I’m proud of myself. I did not watch the game yesterday, even when I saw they were up 3-1 (and I’m glad I didn’t)! I’ve pretty much lost all interest at this point, which feels weird because hockey was always my favorite sport. I mean, I watched every single game even through the tank years. But at least then we had hope (of high draft picks and better days in the future). Now I have no hope for this team and I don’t see things getting better any time soon. About the only thing they could do to draw me back into this season would be to hire someone like Bruce Boudreau.
  5. Oh man, can you believe this Sabres “BS” hat was designed by Pegulas daughter? 😂 how perfect is that? https://shoponebuffalo.com/products/new-era-kelly-pegula-designed-sabres-bs-9twenty-adjustable-cap
  6. I’m praying they have Bruce Boudreau (or some other experienced coach) secretly quarantining for 2 weeks in Buffalo... I think that’s part of the issue - who replaces Krueger if he’s fired? Covid rules complicate things. Would any of Ralph’s assistants be any better? If Chris Taylor was still in Rochester I have little doubt he’d be coaching the Sabres right now. But their head coach in Rochester (Seth Appert) is a rookie. This is his first ever season coaching pro hockey. Kevyn Adams also said at his most recent presser that the players enjoy playing for Ralph and still have belief in what he’s preaching (seems hard to believe by the way they play on the ice...). So he said he has to consider that when making a change. Ive read Eichel especially likes Ralph. If they replace Ralph I hope like heck that it’s with an experienced veteran coach like Boudreau, Gallant or Julien. If Ralph is as beloved as reported, replacing him with a clear upgrade is a much easier sell than another inexperienced rookie head coach. My dream scenario is that Kevyn Adams goes after his buddy Rod Brind’amor in the offseason. He still hasn’t signed an extension with Carolina, though it’s tough to imagine he doesn’t (unless Tom Dundon just refused to pay him a competitive salary which is a possibility). But the issue with waiting until the offseason is that more teams will be looking for head coaches then and I can’t imagine Buffalo being high on anyone’s list. I’ve read Bruce Boudreau is dying to get back behind the bench, he was born right across the border in Toronto and still has family in the area (plus he lives in PA). If he’s willing to come here I’d hire him immediately. He’s improved every team he’s ever coach and almost never missed the playoffs in his entire NHL coaching career. If any team was ever in need of an experienced, successful NHL coach it’s the Sabres! And there are multiple experienced, successful NHL coaches just sitting out there. It seems so obvious... But, Being that it IS the Sabres we’re talking about, I expect them to do the opposite. Waiting to hear about some coach from the harborcenter being promoted, and we find out it’s not just on an interim basis (like Adams).
  7. Meh. It was ok. There were a few good moments but overall it wasn’t very good. I was pretty happy when it was over and can’t see myself ever watching it again.
  8. Mentions teams are calling about Reinhart and Staal, among others. I don’t really care who they trade anymore as long as they get a good return. I have absolutely Zero interest in draft picks though (for younger guys like Reinhart anyway). Especially in this draft. The 1st round looks terrible, even in the top 5 (this looks like one of the worst drafts in recent memory). If they trade guys away I want to get good NHL players back in return. Make change of scenery trades with teams also looking to shake up their cores, like Calgary & Nashville.
  9. Meh, who cares. Nothing wrong with that. I actually prefer having the drum corps vs. having cheerleaders. I’d rather see more teams do that, or even bring in a small marching band (like college teams). I think that gets the crowd way more into the game than cheerleaders do. Same here!

  11. wow! Talk about an unexpected hire!
  12. Sure would. But I don’t see it happening, unless Ralph moves into a team president role. Kevyn Adams hasn’t even hired any assistant GMs, and the Pegulas promoted him to GM (without even an interview) because apparently they felt “burned” by the experienced career hockey people they had running things before (which is crazy because they literally never had experienced hockey ops people running anything since they took over. Every GM was a rookie)... so I’d be shocked if they went outside the organization for a team president.
  13. Cozens showing heart!
  14. I guess a super bowl wasn’t his first priority after all
  15. Nope. Don’t believe in them. There have been all sorts of scientific experiments into psychics stretching back 100+ years (Harry Houdini was really into disproving psychics after his mother’s death). Almost all of them have proven the psychics tested were frauds. Almost every well known psychic over the years has eventually been proven to be a fraud. Anyone remember the whole Uri Gellar story? https://www.damninteresting.com/project-alpha-and-the-spoon-benders/ If you’re into this kind of stuff, I’d highly recommend checking out “The Amazing Randi” and watching his documentary “an honest liar”. He exposed a lot of the common psychic scams. He’s dedicated his life to exposing these frauds. He’s investigated 100’s and 100’s of the most well known psychics and hasn’t found a real one yet. I watched it on amazon prime (iirc). It was free on there (at the time anyway, not sure about now).
  16. I was wrong. He was yelling at the ref about Coutourier holding his stick. He still doesn’t have anyone to blame but himself for that goal, but at least he wasn’t yelling at Dahlin, I guess.
  17. You can’t see it in this replay, but after the goal Eichel turned and yelled at Dahlin for it. 🤷‍♂️
  18. Sounds about right.
  19. I honestly don’t know what I did wrong. It’s bothered me for a long time. I would never think about abusing any dog. I treat all my pets very well. The dog was great when he was a puppy then he just slowly started to change and no matter what I tried I couldn’t stop it from getting worse (and I tried all sorts of stuff). It started with growling when I fed him. Then he’d start charging you. Then biting. He eventually attacked my father completely unprovoked and out of the blue, and he attacked so viciously that my dad ended up in the hospital for a week. I’m scared to ever own another now. I’ve had about a dozen dogs in my life and no other dog every bit anyone. All of them were total sweethearts that wouldn’t hurt s fly. I rescued the pit bull as a small puppy. The owner abused him and was actually bragging about how he was starving him. I took him home on the spot and tried to give him a good life. Like I said I don’t know what I did wrong and still think about what I could have potentially done differently. It’ll probably always bother me.
  20. They really are. Hovkey has always been my favorite sport and I feel like the Sabres are killing my love for the game. I think it might be time I stop watching completely for a while. Right now the Sabres are dead last in their division and 29th (3rd last) in the NHL. This season feels like it’s over already and I don’t really feel much hope for the future. This team is so broken. It’s only a matter of time before they do another full rebuild of the rebuild.
  21. Yes, lots of pit bulls. That’s one breed of dog I don’t think I’d own again. I owned one once and it’s the only dog I ever had that bit people, and it wasn’t just little nips.
  22. Same here! Got my dog (huskie mix) from the WNY SPCA. They said the dog was from a kill shelter in NC. I think he may have been a stray, or abused (from how skittish he was at first) but I’m not sure. Said some guy flys down there once a week with his own plane and brings dogs back from the kill shelters down south. I thought that was so amazing. It makes me sick that they really would have put down this dog down. He’s the smartest, most obedient dog I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had dogs (usually multiple) my entire life). So loyal and super gentle. But when I first got him he was a bit wild/unruly and If you yelled at him it would escalate things. But as soon as I found a training method he understood, his turn around was immediate and drastic. And like I said now he is just an amazing dog. So well behaved. For example, I can leave a plate of food sitting right in front of him and leave the room for 10+ minutes without even a worry. Go to the SPCA some time. They’re great there. If you have a cat you can set up a meeting between the cat and any dog you’re interested in before bringing him home. And if a dog doesn’t work out I believe you can even bring him/her back (but I’ve never tried). It’ll make you feel great rescuing too. I’ve had really good luck with mutts from the shelters. Less health issues. Often better behaved. They do have purebred dogs as well, and even puppies at times but they go super fast. Not too long ago I had 3 dogs and had to to put down all 3 within a span of like 2 years. I said when we had the 3rd put down that I’d wait to get another dog. I think I made it 2 weeks. But it was the best decision to get another. Dogs are the best.
