Sounds about right.

I honestly don’t know what I did wrong. It’s bothered me for a long time. I would never think about abusing any dog. I treat all my pets very well. The dog was great when he was a puppy then he just slowly started to change and no matter what I tried I couldn’t stop it from getting worse (and I tried all sorts of stuff). It started with growling when I fed him. Then he’d start charging you. Then biting. He eventually attacked my father completely unprovoked and out of the blue, and he attacked so viciously that my dad ended up in the hospital for a week. I’m scared to ever own another now. I’ve had about a dozen dogs in my life and no other dog every bit anyone. All of them were total sweethearts that wouldn’t hurt s fly. I rescued the pit bull as a small puppy. The owner abused him and was actually bragging about how he was starving him. I took him home on the spot and tried to give him a good life. Like I said I don’t know what I did wrong and still think about what I could have potentially done differently. It’ll probably always bother me.

They really are. Hovkey has always been my favorite sport and I feel like the Sabres are killing my love for the game. I think it might be time I stop watching completely for a while. Right now the Sabres are dead last in their division and 29th (3rd last) in the NHL. This season feels like it’s over already and I don’t really feel much hope for the future. This team is so broken. It’s only a matter of time before they do another full rebuild of the rebuild.

Yes, lots of pit bulls. That’s one breed of dog I don’t think I’d own again. I owned one once and it’s the only dog I ever had that bit people, and it wasn’t just little nips.

Same here! Got my dog (huskie mix) from the WNY SPCA. They said the dog was from a kill shelter in NC. I think he may have been a stray, or abused (from how skittish he was at first) but I’m not sure. Said some guy flys down there once a week with his own plane and brings dogs back from the kill shelters down south. I thought that was so amazing. It makes me sick that they really would have put down this dog down. He’s the smartest, most obedient dog I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had dogs (usually multiple) my entire life). So loyal and super gentle. But when I first got him he was a bit wild/unruly and If you yelled at him it would escalate things. But as soon as I found a training method he understood, his turn around was immediate and drastic. And like I said now he is just an amazing dog. So well behaved. For example, I can leave a plate of food sitting right in front of him and leave the room for 10+ minutes without even a worry. Go to the SPCA some time. They’re great there. If you have a cat you can set up a meeting between the cat and any dog you’re interested in before bringing him home. And if a dog doesn’t work out I believe you can even bring him/her back (but I’ve never tried). It’ll make you feel great rescuing too. I’ve had really good luck with mutts from the shelters. Less health issues. Often better behaved. They do have purebred dogs as well, and even puppies at times but they go super fast. Not too long ago I had 3 dogs and had to to put down all 3 within a span of like 2 years. I said when we had the 3rd put down that I’d wait to get another dog. I think I made it 2 weeks. But it was the best decision to get another. Dogs are the best.

Well, stick a fork in this season... Ullmark is out for at least a month. I don’t see any way they can overcome that loss. Hutton as their starter for an entire month... 😬yikes! JJ and Tokarski are no better. JJ’s hardly an AHL caliber goalie. Really happy to see Risto back though! Hopefully he doesn’t suffer any PASC related setbacks.

Yeah the Sabres underlying statistics/analytics are actually pretty good. They’ve been very unlucky though, especially Eichel, skinner and Hall. He and Ralph do have a relationship, but I’m not sure the Sabres would actually try to add him to the staff. I’d be all for it.

Brandon Beane on Collinsworth’s podcast — worth a listen

Thanks for sharing! -

Phew. For a minute there I thought they coaxed Dante Scarnecchia out of retirement to coach their o line and I was going to say wow! that’s a huge hire for them.

Canadiens are 9-5-4. I thought he actually had them playing pretty good hockey this season. I wonder if it was the 3 losses in a row - 2 of them to Ottawa (the worst team in the north division by a fair margin)?

https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/seasons/2020-21-nhl-players-stats.html a bunch of the guys on the top 50 list have played the same amount of games as Eichel. Some have played 3-5 more games. Some have even played less games than Eichel. Also, if you look at ‘points per game played’ and ‘points per 60 minutes’, he’s still not in the top 50. He has not been very good this season. Though he did play one of his better games last night.

Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
BillsFan4 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He must REALLY hate the Texans if he’s willing to be traded to the Jets. Ownership is just as bad as Houston, if not worse. -
Glad to hear the surgery went well. Now, prayers for a speedy recovery!

That was quite possibly the worst game Eichel has ever played in a Sabres uniform. I think he actually hurt the Sabres when he was on the ice more than he helped them. I honestly didn’t even want to see him on the ice for the last shift of the game, down by a goal. That says it all. Eichel has looked off all year. Right now, he’s not even among the top 50 NHL players in goals or points. I don’t know if he’s injured or out of shape, or all the time off messed with him, or what his deal is. I agree about the turnovers and lazy plays. I’ve always bitched about his turnovers but you could live with him because his overall game was elite. But it’s a lot tougher to live with right now. Especially the lazy plays. It infuriates me when I see players dogging it, and he’s done that quite a bit this season. Cozens looked great though! He’s really brought a spark to that line the past couple games. Hall/Staal/Cozens looks like they’re developing some nice chemistry. Hall had a good game too. One of his better games for the Sabres. Well, Fudge. That blows.

Wow! What a goal by Reinhart!

damn, that sucks. Hope we didn’t see him play his last game in Buffalo. Sabres do have a decent amount of depth on the left side though, so I’m not sure he will be re-signed.

Elliotte Friedman was on WGR yesterday and didn’t hesitate when “wpuls the Sabres ever consider trading Eichel?” He immediately said “yes”. https://theathletic.com/2397942/2021/02/18/jack-eichel-trade-rumors/ (athletic subscription required) here’s another link that doesn’t require a subscription. It also has the Friedman interview linked. The Eichel talk starts somewhere around 13 minutes. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2021/02/speculation-swirling-around-buffalo-sabres.html Sad as it is to say, I don’t think I am quite as opposed to trading Eichel as I used to be. Mainly because I am getting to the point where I just don’t care what the Sabres do. I’d still hate to see Eichel go, but it’s kind of starting to feel like it’s inevitable. I guess the Sabres can’t have nice things. It terrifies me thinking about totally inexperienced rookie Kevyn Adams being the one to make the trade, though. It would be a trade that defined the franchise for the next decade (probably). What a complete and total failure the tank was.

Yikes. more translated from the article (from a Finnish poster on another message board): - Says he has gone through every possible symptom. He has asked around the league and no one else has had it this bad. - His oxygen levels had dropped significantly and doing anything at all made him extremely tired -After a couple of days his symptoms got better only to come back in a different form, chest pains for an example. -When he had his chest pains, he felt like his heart is going to rip in two when walking up the stairs. Says couple of nights he felt like he wasn't sure if he's going to wake up. -"I got healthy papers from the doctors but physically I am in such a bad shape that i have a long road ahead of me until I'm fit to play." (Despite this he also says that he can maybe see himself coming back some time next week, but not certain) ———— Get well soon Risto!

It would be nice if the Sabres played more like the team that showed up for the last 8 minutes of the 3rd period. That’s how they need to play all 60 minutes of every game. That’s the type of effort they need to give if they truly want to win and break this playoff drought. I mean, effort is FAR from the only problem, but it sure could help mask some of those other issues. But they don’t give that type of effort anywhere near enough. It’s why I roll my eyes now when I hear them talk about how much they want to win. If they actually wanted to win as much as they say they do, they’d be playing like their hair was on fire. But it’s all just lip-service IMO. They may like the idea of winning but apparently not the hard work and determination it takes to achieve.

Yep. I used to be active in this thread all the time and was active on another hockey message board. Not so much anymore. I know the team has been through a lot in the last couple weeks and they were missing a bunch of players, but still... not to muster even a single shot on net in the 3rd period when you’re down by 2 goals? That is unacceptable, especially with all the talent they have on offense. I don’t want to hear any BS from the players about how bad they want to win/make the playoffs until they actually start showing it on the ice. And that includes Eichel (who really hasn’t been anything special so far this season). The time for talk is long over. I only care about their actions now. I can accept a loss when they fought their ass off. Let’s at least see some consistent fight from this team.
