wtf is a contendant? I’ve never heard that word before and the article uses it numerous times. do they mean contender?

i guess he feels like he doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone, including his new teammates + coaches, and also doesn’t feel like he needs to contribute to his new team making it into the playoffs in the 1st place. Guess he also doesn’t feel like he needs to get into game shape before the playoffs start. I don’t really like this attitude (and I’ve been for bringing him in), but I guess if the Bills players are ok with it then it’s whatever. As long as it doesn’t mess up the team chemistry I’m ok with him being a hired gun for the playoffs. It would’ve been much better if he had just said something like he’s still working back from injury and might not be ready till the playoffs, though.

Has Beane actually said that? If so, I’m not sure I really understand that thinking. You could say the same about any big money contract - if that player gets injured it leaves a big hole in your lineup. That’s not a reason to not sign good players in free agency. It’s not like free agents are more prone to injury than guys you draft/develop + sign to big money… Also, I really don’t get all the “Von’s injury suddenly makes this a bad contract” takes in this thread. It was an injury. They happen in football all the time. It doesn’t suddenly make the Von signing a bad contract. The Bills needed a true finisher on the D line. They went and signed one of the best. Does the injury leave a big hole in the lineup? Yes. But doesn’t that kind of help prove it was a good signing?

The difference in professionalism between Buffalo and Dallas seems very obvious throughout this whole OBJ tour saga. Just the way Dallas (and Jerry Jones) has gone about everything compared to Buffalo, the Bills have been much more professional IMO.

Yeah, no worries! all that snow is long gone. We had 5+ feet on our front lawn and now I can see the grass 😂 Most of the streets were cleaned within a day or two of the storm anyway. Buffalo is very efficient at snow removal. We know how to handle a snowstorm. Have fun at the game!

Not surprising. OBJ is coming off injury and might not even be back to 100% at all this season. Looking at it from his POV, why would he only sign a deal for the rest of the year? I feel like he would be better off just waiting until the season is over then. He’d have a lot more teams interested I’m sure. Looking at the pool of free agent WR’s for 2023, it looks pretty weak. It will likely all come down to what the other teams offer and what OBj is willing to settle for. I don’t see the Bills giving him crazy money. Certainly not the $20M/yr he’s rumored to supposedly want. I could see a 2-3 year deal with incentives and lighter on guaranteed $$ and I’d be good with that. The Bills need a #2 WR to play opposite Diggs. I thought Davis would fill that role. But now I’m not sure he’s capable. I’m also ok with letting him walk if someone else offers him stupid money.

Reports were that Ullmark was willing to stay and just wanted term and Buffalo wouldn’t give it to him. I like a lot of what Adams has done but letting Ullmark walk over term (if true) is IMO probably Adams biggest mistake so far. Why not just give him the 5 year deal he wanted (and got in Boston)? Who would they have been blocking? Right now Ullmark is near the top of the league in save percentage and GAA. Obviously playing for Boston helps that, but he was a serviceable starter here. Even a league average starter would be a big upgrade for Buffalo. He was a good team guy too. Definitely fits the culture they’re building.

Lindy really has the devils playing some good hockey. They look like an exciting young up and coming team. Devils fans have sure changed their tune on him! they went from booing him and chanting for him to be fired… to this! That’s pretty awesome that they chanted “sorry Lindy!”. I’m happy he’s finding success there. I wish he wasn’t so successful against Buffalo last night, but I’m happy for Lindy overall.

Yeah the online shopping has definitely minimized it I think. Plus a lot of places start their Black Friday sales days or even a week+ before Black Friday now. And then we have cyber Monday sales that are often better than Black Friday sales.

I have to think the combination of his play in the last game against New England along with his comments after the game are what did it. Barely a week ago Saleh was raving about Wilson and wouldn’t even consider benching him. He even went as far as to say he would be the starter for the rest of the season. But that post game press conference probably really rubbed guys the wrong way in the locker room. I think Saleh maybe felt he was in danger of losing the room if he didn’t make this move. You can’t preach accountability and always doing what’s best for the team then continue to start Wilson after that whole fiasco. I still think it’s likely he sees the field again this season. I think this might be about giving him a breath as well as trying to humble him a bit.

I agree. I think the most telling line was when Mcdermott said “if this is the level he feels he needs to be at…” Having torn my acl (and MCL + meniscus) I get it. It took me a long time to feel comfortable with my knee again. I’m sure he’s thinking about his career, not just this season.

Same here. The last 3 weeks of Bills + Sabres play has me totally burned out on Buffalo sports.

mid season slump is continuing so far today. they better pulls their heads out of their asses quick or they miss the playoffs altogether. I feel like today is damn near must-win territory. They’re already 6th in the division with a # of teams nipping at their heels.

I started watching the first period. Turned it off when the leafs scored their 3rd goal. Just flipped the game back on to see the leafs score their 5th goal. 5-1 Toronto. Immediately changed the channel. 😂 looks like this will be loss #8 in a row. 🤢🤮 🤬**** this team.
