  1. Thought McDermott should have challenged there. Allen stuck his neck out for the team on that great effort to get the 1st. Show him some support and throw the flag. Kid needs to get a 1st for his confidence, too. Seems like it would have been worth the challenge.
  2. Yeah, agree. Just judging off that series, Allen doesn’t look ready to start. Still PLENTY of time in this game to show otherwise though.
  3. Schmidt is playing terrible today. He might be toast.
  4. Says the guy who only ever come here to B word about the Bills. At least we actually like the team we root for... edit - i’d be fine with starting someone other than Allen, though. Especially if this o line doesn’t get better. But it’s a preseason game, so...
  5. Nah they moved him to second string. Kidding. Yeah, he’s hurt.
  6. I rewound the game on my DVR, trie to pause it and I still couldn’t tell! lol
  7. So very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the people currently affected by this nightmare. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be there, or to know that a loved one was there. Breaks my heart.
  8. This might be the most excited I’ve ever been for a preseason game! lol Go Bills! Go Allen!
  9. I just came across his quote in an Athletic article. Not that it really matters, but that NYupstate article was a bit misleading when they said: Here is the full quote - https://theathletic.com/487042/2018/08/23/chiefs-sammy-watkins-busy-learning-the-x-y-zs-of-another-new-offense/
  10. Just imagine how long this thread would be if Jeffismagic was still here.... ?
  11. Good article on Dahlin (from the Buffalo news. No subscription required) https://buffalonews.com/2018/08/24/as-rasmus-dahlin-settles-in-buffalo-few-teen-traces-remain/
  12. I was just coming to post this. Great story. It finally gives some clarification on what happened that day at his “retirement” press conference:
  13. I have never once gushed about Nathan Peterman, this year or last, and I never said the Indy game is a true measure. I am not sure how you gathered that from what I posted. I wasn’t saying that he should start over Josh Allen, either. I thought we were talking about his potential to be our long term backup (which is why I made the comment that I hadn’t written him off as our backup...) My entire point was that for me, it’s way too soon to say what Peterman is one way or the other. He has played what, maybe the equivalent of 1 regular season NFL game at most? 49 total pass attempts... Outside of that, we have only seen him in a handful of preseason games. That is nowhere near enough of a sample size for me to say what Nathan Peterman is. I would say that is a reasonable stance to take. It sure seems a lot more reasonable than having my mind 100% made up on him after a tiny sample size. Just because i said that I haven’t made my mind up on NP yet and said he rebounded nicely from that disaster of an LA game doesn’t mean I am some big NP fanboy.
  14. This is a good reminder that we fans don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. We complain at times because we think Beane didn’t address a certain position on the roster well enough, but we have no idea who he may have tried to sign. For all we know, he may have struck out on the guys he felt were a good fit and decided it was better to wait than to someone just for the sake of it, and that’s why a position wasn’t filled with the type of upgrade/depth we’d hope for.
  15. It’s reasonable to assume we know exactly what Nathan Peterman is after all of 49 total pass attempts in NFL game action? Im not saying he might not be worse than the QBs you mentioned. All I’m saying is that we don’t know yet. We haven’t watched nearly enough of him to know what he is. He was thrown into less than ideal circumstances in that LA game. Their D line just ate our O line alive. I’m not going to just assume NP sucks because he struggled (badly) under those circumstances. I thought he rebounded and played well in that Indy game before he left with the injury. And ive thought he’s looked pretty good so far this preseason. I just think it’s way too early to write Peterman off as our backup QB. You may be totally right that he’s JAG. But we simply don’t know yet. At least IMO anyway.
  16. Good stuff 26. I still feel that in the years to come Mittelstadt may prove to be a top 4 player from that draft. Maybe even top 2. I am getting really excited for this season! Here is is a similar breakdown of Rasmus Dahlin, for those who missed it before the draft (and have an athletic subscription) - https://theathletic.com/322529/2018/04/23/breaking-down-rasmus-dahlin-the-makings-of-a-generational-talent-and-first-overall-lock/
  17. I have not lost any interest at all in watching the Bills. But yeah, I don’t watch quite as many other NFL games as I used to. I still watch a good amount of NFL football, though. For me, it’s something that has bene slowly happening for years. It started with all the rule changes. Now it’s to the point that you can’t even celebrate a play when it happens, anymore. You have to wait to see if there was a flag. It’s taken some of the excitement out of the game IMO.
  18. Unless I am missing something, his tweet is saying something completely different than his article. Talk about a misleading headline to generate clicks... Then goes on to say -
  19. It has been really interesting getting to watch ‘Hard Knocks’ on Tuesday and then ‘Buffalo Bills:Embedded’ the following day. Getting to compare the 2 side by side, I could not be happier that Buffalo has the coaching staff we do. It makes me feel very lucky. For too many years Buffalo would have been that disfunctional browns team/staff that we are seeing on Hard Knocks. I also have to say... I kind of feel like an idiot for ever wishing we had hired Hue Jackson.... lol.
