It seems like there has been a lot of smoke this offseason about the Bills potentially trading back in the 1st to acquire an established NFL player. This seems like it could be a good year to do something like that. I’ve heard a lot of people say that there are a lot of guys with similar grades outside of the top handful of players at the top of the draft.

I don’t know how Washington didn’t get called for a delay of game penalty in that first overtime. That was 100% a delay of game. The puck was shot before it left the caps zone. Officiating has been kind of bad this postseason.

Not sure how I feel about Martin. To try and focus on the positive - he does have a ton of experience, and has also turned around a franchise before. He took over the Ottawa Senators head coaching job in their 4th season in the NHL. They had 8 total wins the year prior and had 8 total wins when he took over more than 1/2 way through the 1995/96 season. The sens went from last place to first in the northeast division by Martin’s 3rd full year and had 2more 1st place finishes in the following 4 seasons. He was also brought in to stabilize the Pittsburgh bench 2 separate times - once under Bylsma and again when Mike Sullivan was promoted. He may not be the worst choice to help stabilize the Sabres. For those who want a hard ass who will put a good defensive structure in place, Martin could be that guy. And he could be transitioned into another role if/when someone like Chris Taylor was ready to take over (he’s done that before). Definitely wouldn’t be the most inspiring hire. But I’d give him a chance I guess.

You could see that coming for at least the last 5 minutes. San Jose just took over.
-
I thought that 5 minute major was questionable at best. I thought it should have been a 2 minute penalty. Pavelski was already falling when Eakin hit him and just kind of fell awkwardly. I don’t think it should have influenced the penalty call like did. Definitely not in game 7. That call completely changed the game. And as I’m typing Vegas ties it!!

Gruden and Mayock sends scouts home!?!?
BillsFan4 replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So.... they send all their scouts home because they’re scared of information leaking. But then they invite Micheal Silver to watch their mock draft? Or give him the info on the players Mayock picked? -
Yes, lower minutes, better d partners and better coaching with a better defensive structure would all help Risto. We saw Montour and other making similar mistakes when forced into Risto’s minutes at the end of the year. I am not completely opposed to trading Risto. He’s been here through all of the losing and makes his fair share of mistakes (like every other Sabre...). But it has to be the right trade. What I am scared of is Risto being the scapegoat this offseason - that Jason Botterill will feel he NEEDS to trade Risto and will take whatever the best offer is this summer. I give Botterill some slack on the ROR trade because there were some extenuating circumstances (his attitude+comments, the $7.5M bonus due July 1, his contract structure being all bonuses, etc). I don’t see this as a ROR situation though, so I am not willing to cut Botterill the same slack with Risto. I just don't see where a Ristolainen trade has to be done. If the right offer comes, then ok. Take it. But otherwise I’d like to see what he looks like with better partners for a season (between Dahlin being in year 2 and a full year of Montour, we have the guys to help ease his burden. And who knows, Maybe there will even be a free agent addition...) and hopefully better coaching.

I agree. All I care about is how well he does his job. They would be crazy to rely on Bogosian being healthy again for the majority of next season. Odds seem to be against that. IMO that has to be factored into any potential Ristolainen trade. The way I see it, as of right now we have 2 good RH defenseman on the roster for next season - Montour and Risto. Nelson is a 6/7 and Bogo can’t stay healthy. You can’t trade Risto without somehow getting someone to fill that void.

Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark

not sure if this was posted, but it’s in response to this PFT article - -
I said this in another thread, but If they don’t trade back or draft Murray, then I have no idea what they were doing all offseason. I know theyre poorly run, but that would make them look really clueless. Why mess with Rosen’s confidence all offseason, as well as plant that seed of doubt in all his teammates minds (that Rosen may not be their guy)? It can be justified/explained if they get a big haul of picks or if they draft Murray and move on from Rosen. Otherwise...??

No, I’ve never seen it. It’s good I take it? -

I do have HBO but I haven’t watched game of thrones yet. Im sure I’ll get around to it eventually though. I always seem to do this with every popular show. I don’t start watching until it’s just about to end. Breaking bad, Walking dead, the office, dexter, weeds... didn’t really start watching any of them until they hit Netflix, then one day I’d watch an episode or two out of boredom and get hooked. -
nobody showing up this playoff series. From goaltending to scoring to coaching... Yeah, Wedgewood was never great but he has been playing like total crap since the last 8-10 games of the regular season. I don’t think they’ll turn to UPL, but I’d be happy if they did. UPL is lightyears better than Wedgewood. This is 2 years in a row that the Amerks got crap goaltending in the playoffs...
-
I think Taylor will survive. I don’t really think he’s in any danger. Id be very surprised to see him fired. Amerks are likely done though. I just don’t see any way they win 3 straight games. so disappointing. Hopefully UPL gives them solid goaltending next year. Wedgewood sucks. It’s not just goaltending though. They’ve outplayed the Marlies for large stretches but they can’t score right now. Nobody is getting those 2nd and 3rd chances or battling hard enough in front of the net. The Amerks top line has pretty much been a total no show on the scoreboard too.

Trade market for Rosen "soft"
BillsFan4 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point, I kind of feel like they’ve done an awful lot of damage that may be tough to fix if they don’t draft Kyler Murray or get a massive haul of picks for their #1 spot. If they end up just staying put and drafting Bosa or someone, then what in the **** were they doing these last couple months?! Trying to destroy their 2nd year QBs confidence and ability to be a leader on the team? They would look so dumb IMO. -
A brief history of Marijuana Prohibition in honor of 4/20

The DuPont petrochemical company also played a large role in making cannabis/hemp illegal (due to their involvement in the fossil fuel industry, and how well they were connected in government circles). Hemp was a HUGE threat to petroleum based products (like synthetic fibers, gasoline additives and even gasoline) and people can grow it themselves. You can get 3 crops per year in southern climates. If you haven’t already read it, Jack Herer’s book “The emperor wears no clothes” is a great read on this subject, and the usefulness of hemp (believe it or not I actually had to read it in a class in college many years ago). Interesting side note - they also offer a $100,000 prize to anyone who can disprove the claims made within. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Emperor_Wears_No_Clothes
