PS5 confirmed by Sony some specs discussed
BillsFan4 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You can pick which ever hard drive you want to run from, and switch between the internal and external if you want. All you do is go to the storage menu on the PS4. I have not not used my internal hard drive since I plugged in the external. I’ve had no need to, really. I set it to install/run everything off the external hard drive and have just left it that way. Games run right from the external hard drive. The external hard drive is actually slightly faster loading than the internal hard drive on the PS4 is (though hardly noticeable). The PS4 has a USB 3 port. It’s actually a faster connection than the SATA II the internal drive uses. Plus, the external hd’s have better specs than the hd the PS4 uses. and it’s only running games. It’s not running all the functions the internal hd is running. I use a powered external hard drive. This one - https://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBBGB0040HBK-NESN/dp/B01LQQHL4E/ref=asc_df_B01LQQHL4E/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309776868400&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4076394060688731751&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005554&hvtargid=pla-343408347012&th= You can can also use a portable external hard drive that’s powered by the USB. Powered hd’s are slightly faster, but not really noticeable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713WPGLL/ref=sspa_dk_hqp_detail_aax_0?psc=1 The portable hard drive is recommended if you want to take your game collection to friends houses to play. If you only play games at home (like me) then I would recommend the powered hard drive as they are slightly faster (and I’ve read they are a bit more reliable over the long run). The other nice nice thing about an external hard drive is if you ever have to get a new PlayStation, all you have to do is plug your hard drive in to the new console and all your games are ready to go. Same if the new PS5 comes out and has backward compatibility. You could obviously also use it for storage on a new PS5. As an added bonus, you can use it as a DVR recording device (on XBox one anyway. Never tried it on PS4. You actually need an external hard drive to use that feature). I mean, you could also always open the PS4 up and install a bigger internal hard drive. It’s easy to do. But there is really no reason IMO, unless the internal hard drive is way cheaper or something. But there is no down side to using an external hard drive. I prefer it actually. Oh, just FYI I noticed in that first link link (to the powered external hard drive) that the 6 tb model is only $20 more. If I were buying one, I’d just get the 6 tb. Two extra tb’s for $20 is a steal. -
Isles with the empty netter! Pens are done. Lets hope Jim Rutherford overreacts and does something stupid (like firing Mike Sullivan so we can hire him...lol)

I love it! Congrats Columbus. Now just keep it going! (especially since it could potentially help the Sabres get the STL pick). Now let’s see if the NY can finish it too. 50 seconds left...

This Tampa Bay vs Columbus game is amazing!!

It was actually Svechnikov that asked Ovi to fight. Ovi mentioned it after the game. He said Svech asked him to go and he said ok. Bet the kid won’t ask him again. lol He was knocked out. You could see it right away by the way his hands/arms stiffened up. Announcers also eventually mentioned that he was out cold for a minute.

The very first thing I bought after my Xbox/PS4 was an external hard drive for both. I grabbed a 4 TB external hard drive for each. You can get them for about $80-90. I recommend the WD brand, but any will work. Super easy to install too. All you do is plug in the USB cable to the console and it walks you through a 1 minute setup and then you’re ready to go. I have yet to fill either one. Never had to uninstall a game... -

If it supports 8k graphics, I am assuming that it has to have HDMI 2.1 then? -
Right? I checked in because I wanted to see if there were any more pics posted of the new facility and had to scroll through 4 pages of whatever That was... lol

You know.... that’s not the worst idea I’ve heard. We know he loves Buffalo. He could probably help re-establish the sense of pride these players should have in putting on that Sabres jersey (or any NHL jersey for that matter), with the history he has with this franchise. One things for sure, when he was here the players were not running the show. Even the face of the franchise (at the time) Ryan Miller, during his peak US olympic years, was scared to complain about Lindy. I remember the media asking him about his playing time, or being pulled or something like that, and trying to bait him into saying something and Miller wouldn’t dare. He even said something like “that’s the guy who controls my playing time. Whatever he says, goes”. Miller knew that even though he was the sabres franchise player, Lindy was still in charge. I don’t think we’ve had that since Lindy left to be honest.

We need someone that can get us back to respectability and consistently making the playoffs before we even start to worry about whether or not a coach can win us a Cup. AV has a track record of making every team he takes over better. He made the playoffs 9 out of the past 10 seasons, 2 of those being cup final appearances with 2 separate teams. It it doesn’t matter now, but I feel we would have been lucky to have him. Even if his voice wore out in 4 years, who cares if he got us consistently in the playoff mix. Then you look to hire that coach to put you over the top. I just really wanted a veteran coach that’s had experience improving teams and has that instant credibility with the players in the locker room, since buy-in has been such an issue. This is clearly a tough job. I worry that another newcomer will be overwhelmed by the size of the task at hand. I guess I also just feel like the Sabres are one of the teams that can least afford to take a risk with their next coaching hire...

damn it. I really wanted AV. That about does it for the few big name veteran coaches that were on the market. I don’t think we were high on their lists though, seeing as we didn’t even get an interview with Q or AV. I know some will say that anyone is an upgrade in Housley (like they said about Bylsma...) but I was in the camp that if we fired Housley I wanted it to be for a clear upgrade. I am still hoping that ends up being the case.

OTAs Phase 1: Let The Process Begin

I was impressed with the intensity Rochester played with. They had nothing to play for. They have the #2 spot and home ice advantage locked up. Yet they looked like the more desperate team than the B Sens, who needed a win to secure a playoff spot. There were 6 new players in the Amerks lineup, 5 who were called up from the ECHL. I believe At least a few were getting their first ever AHL game. So I’m sure they added some jump. But still impressive none the less. Kind of ironic. The Amerks struggled against Belleville all year. guess all they needed to do was to sit the majority of their good players... lol

The last regular season Amerks game is on right now. UPL is in goal. you can find the game if you check “hockey streams reddit”. Really impressed with thr way Chris Taylor has this team playing. The Amerks are resting just about all their regular players today and are still dominating the B sens (full lineup). And The B sens are playing for their playoff lives! They are tied for a playoff spot right now. They NEED the win. Rochester held them to 4 shots on goal the entire 1st period.

Kadri was offered an in-person hearing. So I’m guessing the suspension will be at least 3 games, maybe more with him being s repeat offender (and doing something similar in last year’s playoff series against the bruins). Refs let the game get out of hand last night. They missed some big calls, too.

Our team kind of reminds me of the leafs in that regard. Skill type players that really do not like getting hit (obviously the leafs have more skill, not trying to compare that). Hopefully when guys like Asplund, Samuelsson, Borgen, Pekar etc. are ready (assuming they ever are) it’ll add more of that much needed grit. I am anxious to see Ristolainen in the playoff. He loves to play a physical game. IMO that’s when he’s at his best - battling it out with a guy like Ovechkin, when things start getting chippy. I’d like to see what Eichel looks like in the playoffs, too. There were a few games this year where he was throwing his body around and playing more physical. He has such a competitive spirit. I could definitely see him turn up the intensity in the playoffs. Skinner is another one I’d like to see in the playoffs. He’s a feisty little ****. Edit - I can’t believe I forgot to mention Dahlin!

He is the coach of the Toronto Marlies. They are getting ready to face the Amerks in round 1 of the playoffs. Anyone wanting to interview him would have to wait until the Marlies season is over. Even when his season is over, we’d still have to get permission from the Maple Leafs to interview him. Not sure if they’d grant buffalo permission or not. Honestly, we really have no idea who the Sabres head coaching candidates are. Outside of the leak about McLellan interviewing, we have not heard anything at all. Botterill seems to have things locked up pretty tight as far as media leaks go. I guess it’s good that there are very few leaks. But it also makes things a bit more boring... lol.

Wow was that Colorado penalty kill (in OT) disorganized... Calgary had them running around like chickens with their heads cut off for the first minute. I dont think Babcock gets fired this season, or even next. But I could see it happening eventually. The reason i could see it happen is that Babcock is a hard core old school guy and Dubas is about as new school as it gets. I’m not sure how well those 2 schools of thought will mix. I could see Sheldon Keefe taking over eventuslly. Dubas hired him to be head coach when he was GM in Sault St Marie, and then again to be head coach of the Marlies. Phew much more of a new school guy who’s views seem to align much closer to Dubas’.

Good point.
