Big Game for SU and their tourney hopes go orange

You wrote a lot as usual and I can’t respond to everything… But as a lifelong resident of Buffalo and WNY … I will say you are really off the mark There is no Buffalo Bill Stadium in downtown Buffalo not just because of economics …. But because there’s a lot more room in the suburbs.. more tailgating room… they looked at city plans… and yes it’s cheaper , so what It takes an hour to leave the game in wide-open Orchard Park… It would take three or four hours to get out of a downtown stadium It’s called planning and logistics And last I checked it’s still the University at Buffalo… Not the university at Amherst And there is a city campus If everybody loved the city that much why did everybody leave to Orchard Park and Amherst and Williamsville? And There are plenty of 60 and 70 year old Buffalo sports fans… Who have witnessed everything from the afl to the nfl to the braves to the Sabres and bisons and everything in between

Yea I heard a massive noise and my bed literally was literally shaking up and down I thought a massive vehicle ran into my house or something… And a minute later I realized it must’ve been an earthquake And I was like holy ***** My father’s property backed up to the rock quarry in Bellevue. Spent many days dangling my feet off the edge lol

I literally had some things wall off the wall lol it took me 2 minutes to realize what happened but I guessed earthquake instantly crazy

Yea that was 25 years ago … I think starting 2 ways was way more normal even in bigger schools It really is starting to get slowly more specialized… especially in huge football classes I’ve seen a lot more kids starting one way in the last five years than 20 years ago even in WNY large schools sure Lots of kids have to play both sides because they don’t have enough kids or talent … If you got a 65 man roster with talent you don’t have to start both ways If you have 35-40 kids on the team… Chances are you are gonna have kids start both ways

Yea the south is king… especially the Deep South Georgia is making a really big push to become the #1 HS state for football … Its Uber impressive football than you got TX, obviously… Florida , California , Louisiana

Sometimes loyalty will be to your detriment in football Trust me it’s hard to fire your friends when they’re your subordinates in football Sean is very loyal…. He needs to make business decisions… Even if it means the coordinators are on a very short leash

I think New Hampshire had 3 kids get a division 1 FBS scholarship in 2021… maybe 5… only 1 nationally ranked with 2* or 3* Now I’m not saying they don’t play good football up there… Because it’s America… Tons of division two and three players But New England is even behind New York… And if you’re playing Catholic school Monsignor martin football in WNY (highest class) And you have a 50-60 man roster, they will have 1 way starters … But yeah even A ball players in New York play both sides most of the true football belts ( TX, Georgia , Florida , California, Ohio , Mississippi etc… it’s 1 way at varsity… Unless you are a top class athlete And I agree the jumps from each level are huge… Ask Derek henry how big the jump from the SEC to the NFL was lol HUGE

Of course he could benefit… But Jim will never Tell a hard-working kid like Jesse… Who developed into a pro… That he needs one more year He will tell him to get the money… And honestly… Look how well a free throw shooter he is… Good touch He actually had a decent mid range game in high school… I just don’t think he’s showing that much… Because his hook shots are incredible

All (big) high schools actually do not have kids starting both ways… That’s typically reserve for smaller class schools New York which isn’t even a big hotbed for high school football recruits… If you go to Saint Joe’s lots aren’t starting both ways They are trying to get kids to the next level and you are picking one side of the ball to specialize… No both side athletes unless you have 35 kids on the team Go to 5Aball in Texas… Very few start both ways… 6a Georgia … Very few both side both side athletes start

If you think scenario x = y in the nfl it doesn’t It’s no guarantee that Patrick Mahomes in a bills uniform is even remotely close to the same type of guy…. Seeing as he went to a much more stable organization And a quarterback whisperer Reports out of Mahomes rookie year was that he was garbage… From his own teammates He got the benefit of sitting behind Alex Smith and learning like most NFL quarterback should… Josh Allen was thrown to the fire with an absolutely terrible surrounding cast Not to mention we got Tre White out of the trade… We absolutely did not lose We got two all pros… And is super star quarterback

I agree with his length and athleticism I see him slipping into the back of round 1, early round 2 he has 7’5 length and can really jump … rapidly developing thanks to the staff… I’m gonna miss Jesse playing

Don’t get it twisted… McDermott runs the team with beane under him McDermott ran the first draft… Which gave us cornerstone pieces in Tre , Dawkins , Milano … Plus ammunition to move up to get Josh McDermitt also Had his blue prints all over beane being hired Beane has been really good with the cap and bringing in some guys … but his drafting record , especially in the meat rounds (2-3) is lacking his drafting hasn’t been top of the league McDermott Brought us out of 17 years of futility

Beane has 1 success … josh Allen McDermott drafted Tre White and Matt Milano and Dion Dawkins… And brought us to the playoffs after 17 years of obscurity

Ed Oliver is not long enough to be a super productive 5 tech Those guys are 6’5 300 pounds Oliver Has to be a three tech
