We spend so much time talking about WR and the offense it’s absolutely maddening. The offense is fine, it’s been fine it will be fine. The problem with the team is the defense. Since 2018, it’s been the defense. It hasn’t changed it won’t change. The guy COACHING the defense is why we can’t win. Never expecting to make stops is inconceivable. Every team in the league expects to make stops. We flat out never do. That is the problem. Forget trading for a WR. Bring in a guy to take over the defense. That’s how we get there. Until then, it makes no difference

I want whatever WR is going to help us get off the field on 3rd down. Which one will help us get to a QB in a big spot or not be blown backwards for 3 hours and fit runs? Do they have a guy that can teach our defense how to get off the field or ever force a 3 and out? Are there any that can actually fix the fundamental issue with the team? Or do we need to continually obsess over the only part of the team that is actually good? The offense has 2 bad games and it’s a 5 alarm fire. The defense has 7 full seasons of terrible games but nah…Choo Choo

I don’t understand why people are afraid of that. Look how bad we have been on the backend. What’s the worst that can happen? You try him in practice…if he sucks then cut him. He’s on the team. You owe it to yourself to see if he can be of use. He can’t play corner. See if he can be used before you dump him. It’s a low steaks thing. There is zero downside

Step 1 : stop playing zone. Put 47 and 31 on the outside and live and die with them playing coverage. We will be fine. See which one sticks Step 3: stop taking LBs off the field 45 8 43/58 on every snap. step 4: keep blitzing and do it even more than we already are Fixing the defense is the whole thing. It’s been for 7 years. Just do it already. Stop being passive and start setting the tone. Make teams uncomfortable. I’ll live with a hit or two over the top if it means we force sone 3 and outs. Play defense FFS. Every other team can figure it out

The second he’s ready physically he needs to play. The draft was in April. He’s had plenty of time. The scheme isn’t that complicated and the guys we are playing are terrible. He’s not going to be worse. Put him out there as soon as it’s possible and leave him there for 5 years. Do not McDermott this thing up and waste another month. I’d prefer him to not even know how to get into the room that the defense is in. Can we just make that guy we brought in from the Pats the DC? Can we just bail on every single part of this defense. I was thinking this exact same thing. I know the plan was to replace the extra OL with Hawes. My thought was why not use both. Use 6 linemen AND Hawes and let’s see if we can’t block it up

If we were 0-17 I’m still going to watch every snap. There’s no where to go. We are all stuck. I hope we win the Super Bowl by 5 touchdowns and this can all finally be worth it. Where people need to separate Is: We get aggrieved and are negative because we want it so bad. It’s coming from a good place. We want what’s best for our team. You gotta at least try him at safety. We are here now. We don’t have an endless supply of options. He’s on the roster. Try to see if he can move there, evaluate it and if he can’t move on

Cook is the second best player on the team. There is an organizational obsession with rotation. You know what’s better than fresh legs? Not putting the worse guys on the field. Stop doing so much and play the guys that are good. This ***** doesn’t even help

I would know what? That every other team manages to get their first round picks on the field right away with no excuses? Yeah. No other team has these ridiculous issues where guys can’t get up to speed 6 months after they were drafted. He’s a boundary Cornerback FFS. Put him on the field and tell him to cover a guy

How many times has he beaten the chiefs in the playoffs ? Are we just doing the ones that support silly arguments or are we using patterns to show he’s had enough chances?

If people wanna be calm about it that’s all fine. I just don’t understand why people try to tell other people how to feel about it. We look horrible and the defense can’t stop literally anyone. The coach is overmatched and seemingly getting worse. We are wasting the entire career of a generational player. After all the playoff losses, people always want to say we’ll be back. Eventually one time is the last time you get back. Writing off years is a problem and people are well within their rights to be concerned

I’d say try and get Olave AND Ridley. Just go for it Dream Scenario is AJ Brown obviously. If the cap is an issue you might have to try and matchup a big money Dlineman in the deal. Greg or Even Ed Oliver. It sucks to take away from an already weak unit but god knows we aren’t doing anything with them
