Yeah I am afraid that the way we F it up is by being good this year and MISS the opportunity to take a QB in the year of the QB. That would be the Billsy thing to do. As I said already I just don't see Beane trading UP to get a QB because he's into analytics and stats, and those say later rounds are just as successful as 1st round. The 5th year option on 1st rounders might be his only incentive to take a 2nd round QB with a late 1st round pick - say the Chief's pick. So we will likely be getting the runt of the litter. IF there's a R. Wilson or Dak out there in the runts of next year. And Beane is gonna bet on that! I will bet you on that!

Haters be haters. When you got a talent like that, we should've used him more. I'm glad he spoke out, because we sure as heck didn't use him until he spoke up! If he didn't, we'd be using him less. Sometimes you have to speak out. It was only after he spoke out TT began throwing to him, even when its 50/50 balls. And Sammy was going up and grabbing them. That's when their relationship turned out far more productive. I'm glad HE SPOKE UP.

Well that's the devil's choice we got right now isn't it. No coach is going to play to lose, including McDermott. Now let's think about what Beane is going to do. What he's done thus far: traded down from a Sammy to get more draft picks. Traded Darby for more draft picks. He seems to be a disciple of analytics, statistics. Statistics say later rounds are just as productive. So that's what he's going to do. Thus, I highly doubt we will be trading UP to grab a QB. I'd love to see him prove me wrong, but more likely, he's going to go for the averages, and trade DOWN to get more picks in the draft. So, what I'm saying is, my bet is, Beane is NOT drafting one of the top QBs in the next draft, even if we had the #1 over all draft choice, regardless of the results this season. He'll trade DOWN again, from whatever position we got, to get more draft picks. Who ever happens to land in the 32nd spot in first round, or in 2nd round, is the most we're likely spending for a QB. I'm 75% sure of this. None of the QBs we drool after, are going to be in a Buffalo jersey come 2018.

EJ can grow playing backup, and working on his game. I believe QBs hit their peak years in late 20s to mid 30s. That said, his ceiling is limited. He's best as backup until he's fixed his mechanics, decision making, and most importantly, mental aptitude and self-confidence. This is why I so want Darnold. He is mentally tough, nothing phases him. I like that aspect of Tyrod too.

The one break we got was Jets. That's it. We knew coming into this season, with the 5th toughest schedule that's what we were facing. Next year we get a break from schedule.

Yes and no. It's easy to get up for the presumed Superbowl contenders. Harder to get up on the road against a team much like yourself but mired with a losing record. I would not be worried about the result. I am more interested in the consistency of the effort. If they lose but there was consistency in effort across the board, I'm happy.

This game is about testing the emotional resilience of the team. A mature, confident team does NOT have let-downs after big wins. We'll see where they are at.

eh come on. This is too simplistic. But, give credit where credit is due. Whaley didn't sign Gilmore. His scouting work landed on Tre White. Safeties were Whaley finds. Beane brought in Gaines. So 3/4 Whaley 1/4 Beane.
