LBs are waste of space. In no world should a safety get that many tackles in the run game. It’s the major issue in D honestly.
I forgot the blocked FG penalty oops.
Special teams was great. No penalties and kickoff return was exceptional. 1 bad punt return really helped out the Bucs. The second half would have been a blow out had that not happened.
In fairness to the guys we’ve swung and missed badly on…these are guys the Bills tried to force into positions outside of their strengths. They set them up for failure and once here that frustration likely spiraled. Elam as it turns out was just bad. Suppose Coleman may have a similar fate. So perhaps drafting and coaching failures.
With some employees, no matter the ecosystem and support you surround them with, they flat out can’t hack it. Maybe this is or isn’t what happened here, but it’s wrong to assume good management can solve every problematic employee.
I can only speak for how it works in academia (which is the apex of all human endeavors and so should be emulated everywhere /s)….but if a Department is running well you hire a Chair from within. If it’s not or it’s stagnate, you hire externally.
The Bills have been run with this internal promotion scheme since McD arrived so it appears to me external is the way to go. If you think McD is capable you get true external OC and DC and shake this up somehow.
