I can only speak for how it works in academia (which is the apex of all human endeavors and so should be emulated everywhere /s)….but if a Department is running well you hire a Chair from within. If it’s not or it’s stagnate, you hire externally. The Bills have been run with this internal promotion scheme since McD arrived so it appears to me external is the way to go. If you think McD is capable you get true external OC and DC and shake this up somehow.

I don’t know if this is the right thread for this question, but listening to how McD and Beane answer questions from the media (usually with distain) has me wondering……Who do these 2 answer too at OBD? On paper it’s Pegula but do they actually have to sit down and get asked hard questions internally? By anyone? Terry is clueless. The arrogance they give off and “that’s fair” statements when answering questions from the media make me think these guys run the show unilaterally. Of course these questions are fair, we have eyes and can see the problems and it’s our job to point it out and to make sure you recognize them as well!!!

I think Brady’s game plan was to showcase Keon to display that Beane’s inaction was justified. Coleman’s so inept it inhibited the entire offense for 3 series. Took him off the field for Samuel and they looked competent again.

The formula is rush and get pressure with 4 and sit back to shut the intermediate and deep passing game down. It worked beautifully tonight and there is no need to blitz consistently (I will guess that Pat’s stats vs blitz were very good compared to non blitz today). I agree wholeheartedly with your trial by fire approach for the rooks. Put your confidence behind the GMs picks and your ability to coach the secondary McD. You inherited the talent of Poyer/Hyde and here is the opportunity to home grow the next great secondary.
