  1. This is a dilemma, I agree. But a difference between the Bills v other teams is they have Josh Allen. An OC that does well and gets hired somewhere else won’t go to a team with a Josh Allen (Daboll), so they may think twice. McDaniels stuck around with Brady to win vs taking HC jobs. Maybe that’s the gold we strike. If not, we still have Josh Allen.
  2. Even if this was true and he saw Dorsey had 2 guys running to the same spot he’d be an idiot not to tweak 1 of the routes. Yet here they are. And the key play everyone’s on Josh about, not hitting Diggs on the crosser—apparently this is 3-4th progression—who uses their best WR as 3-4th option? I think the pass to Shakir was the right play but these designs leave a lot to the imagination. They wreak of overthinking to try to trick the Defense, just to end up tricking yourself (execution).
  3. For half a year Diggs has been irrelevant and it’s not because he dropped all passes throw to him.
  4. Why are people advocating for Brady as OC if this is what’s on tape? If he inherited bad routes from Dorsey a good OC wouldn’t keep them, right? If the excuse is our WRs, sorry but Shakir and Diggs are sufficient route runners and it was still figured out. Maybe he’s not the upgrade we think. How can you trust an OC that can’t manufacture production from Stef Diggs apart from LOS WR screens?
  5. Anyone wondering why Josh might’ve throw to Shakir vs Diggs:
  6. When even Oliver doesn’t show up either: 1) KC Oline is top tier and no amount of $ thrown at DL gets it done, or 2) all the DL investment was almost completely wasted. I think you only need 1 D lineman that’s Donald, Watt, Jones, Bosa type game wrecker—they’re the only type to actually impact a game’s outcome. Beane thought we had this in Von but that’s over. Be content with a meh DL and invest in DBs to prevent big plays and WRs on O that create them.
  7. Take a shot for every time you read tough/difficult question or balanced reporting in this diatribe. 🥃
  8. The gameplan was such (Long drives minimal possessions) that it demanded near perfect execution. Those early 2 drives to get 3 points Allen had to overcome drops, fumbles, penalties etc. Yet they kept pounding. But once KC came out after half and in 3 min went ahead, then we answered, then they did again, I knew it was over. This Bills team throughout the year never demonstrated they could play mistake free. I don’t think you can ask Josh to play mistake free either as it removes his playing advantage. They came damn close though. I feel for the players more than anything because they fought consistently this year. But bad game plans and poor execution was a constant battle this year.
  9. Because the D can’t withstand potent offenses like the Bengals and Chiefs AND/OR the O isn’t designed to win in a shootout vs such offenses (12 personnel, rushing attack).
  10. Sounds like Josh changed into this play based on the pre-snap look as they got one they liked, took the opportunity. If true it this becomes lack of execution Dawkins/Allen vs Allen not seeing a guy or Brady calling wrong play.
  11. Well he deserved a lot for blowing 3 winnable games for sure. This last one was not that, though. The DL yesterday was abysmal and that is damning as it’s what McD/Beane have spent so much on while neglecting the WR room. Apart from Allen and the OL there isn’t another dominating group (maybe a full healthy LB core is another). Personally I don’t want Brady back unless he wins a legit and thorough/extensive search. Dorsey making it through a lame search got them in the 6-6 position in the first place.
  12. I think you’re right. We drank some koolaid and selectively forgot how flawed this team is personnel-wise and their bad losses throughout the season. In that way they overachieved a bit. i don’t know what this says about McD then. Overachieving usually reflects well on a coach.
  13. 1) yes because of what happened after 6-6. They should have been 8-4 sure but then they coulda utterly folded too. 2) they’re 3-4 vs KC correct? That’s not never. I think of all coaches Reid is bound to have an edge vs McD Defenses. 3) personally I think he’s a mid HC but he wasn’t why they lost today and a new HC will take 3 years to get to the spot we just ended up at.
  14. Routine catches the downfield throws are for most WRs except ours. I’m fine with changing the plan because they were open and Josh hit ‘em, the receivers blew it. And, Bass.
  15. I’m not on the fire McD train. Since 6-6 his D has been very good and sans injuries would have won today. I’m not surprised his D doesn’t match up well against Reid’s O as it’s based on Jimmy Johnson’s scheme, which Reid is very familiar with. I don’t know how any new HC comes in here and gets back to this level in < 3 years, wasting more of Allen’s prime. You do however need to improve talent at WR (and other) and dump the ST coach for the punting, punt return, and FG debacles this year.
  16. The fake punt should seal the deal (but won’t). Had Poyer not bailed that series out they’d have lost by 11.
  17. People wanna blame Josh for last 2 plays and not hitting Diggs on the crosser but Diggs did nothing to earn his trust this game.
  18. There and our D is gassed and key players hurt. I don’t know how this ends.
