  1. Unfortunately for Nate, this is the truth. Well said. Why is the coaching staff so high on him anyway? I've not seen his college tape. Was he that good at Pitt?
  2. Not very funny to you. You don't speak for everyone my friend. I'm probably a little older than you and guys my generation and older will be more prone to laughing at something like this. Thanks for your input though. Yes, we are all a bit childish as guys - the absolute truth. Sorry for knocking your opinion man. I'm just defensive about my little joke as you can tell. No hard feelings. Apologies nucci and everyone. I don't know why I'm so defensive this morning. I'll shut up now.
  3. It's a JOKE, bro. It's silly. And some guys out there will get it and laugh a little. And I'm a little childish myself, I'll admit it. Big deal. You only live once. Might as well enjoy the **** out of it.
  4. Geez. Seriously? He said two words as a generalization and you respond like this in a football thread? You might be correct, but, seriously? Damn fine weapon. I've only fired two, maybe like 20 rounds total, but I'm head-over-heels in love with this rifle. Very big and old-school (obviously), but friggin' sweet no doubt. I never knew that about Mr. Garand though. Thanks for that tidbit. Back to the OP though, I think this is just more proof that, no matter how you're supposed to pronounce his name, Mr. Taylor is a very polite person who seems to have been raised by parents who instilled good manners and values into him. Football field action aside, I have nothing but total respect for him as a person and as a man. He is a class act. Such a contrast to Mike Vick.
  5. Yeah, it's a joke ok, referring to a certain feature on the ladies. Figure it out.
  6. Maybe I'm missing something, and I know it's very early with just two preseason games down and Allen going against 2nd and 3rd string defenses, but I think he's shown pretty clearly that there is much more to his game that just the deep routes he's famous for. Even last night he was very good at the short and intermediate routes all across the field. I've been pleasantly surprised by this development myself. I do see the point of the OP, however. The media and so many others are ridiculously fixated on that debacle of a first half against the Chargers. At least 2 of those 5 picks were because the receiver couldn't catch the damn ball thrown right at his hands. Take away those 2 and it's not the same situation. And the pick in the Carolina game last week was a bad deflection as well. I am, like others, very concerned about Peterman's lack of arm strength though. It's becoming more obvious each week. He seems very smart football-wise, but lack of arm strength is a pretty big deal at this level. This might actually be the real concern we should all have. Unless they swing a trade for, say, Bridgewater, we're going into this season with Peterman and Allen as 1 and 2 and this scenario, or Peterman getting injured, is not that unlikely I think (or maybe I'm paranoid).
  7. Wow! What an intelligent and well-spoken rebuttal! There always has to be at least one DA who thinks he's so funny and just has to post some BS one-word response like this so everyone else can see just how cool he is. Congratulations on being that idiot.
  8. Seriously, you should be dragged outside and beaten to a pulp for this crap! FU!
  9. At least we can finally dispense with any playoff appearance nonsense now. Barring some absolute miracle, this team will be lucky to get two more wins, if any.
  10. Amen. Please tell me what moron wrote this pile of crap they're trying to pass off as an actual article so I don't have to click on this bait. This is literally the stupidest thing I have heard in recent memory. Does this douche nozzle not have any idea what's going on with Beane and this team right now? Sam Bradford of all the mediocre QB's out right now? What a friggin' idiot! The guy is falling apart at the seams right now and could hardly be anyone's starting QB in a few years. Please tell me who wrote this trash. If I ever see him in public it will take all my power not to punch him in the face as hard as I can.
  11. Just my two cents: I'm a big Oklahoma fan, lived there the year they beat FSU for the championship and the atmosphere around the entire state was ELECTRIC! I've been skeptical about Mayfield due to his size, but he seems to always see the whole field, and that's having those pretty big OU linemen in front of him all the time. He always knows where he's going with the ball. What I like most is how accurate his throws are short and intermediate. His quick passes to the RB's are beauty. IMHO Tyrod has a nicer long ball. The guy can just flick it and it goes 50+ yards. But Mayfield seems to react quicker and gets the ball out faster no matter what the route is. Shows great anticipation, knowledge of a very complicated offense, etc. He's really impressed me this year with less talent in the WR corps on OU. The guy is just a gamer though. Reminds me more of Favre than anyone in recent memory. Love his competitiveness. I'll be very disappointed if Beane doesn't do what it takes to get him early. He can sit for a year or two behind TT and learn the pro game. What a dream it would be to have Mayfield starting in a year or two and TT as the backup (dream).
  12. I'll second that, big time! Karma is a beeyach and it really shows in the now almost two decades since Wade was fired. So friggin' stupid. I remember so fondly how good his defenses were in the late 90's. We had no offense, but kept being playoff competitive with his great coaching.
  13. I've read quite a few posts from the OP and have great respect for his opinion and years of experience (suffering?) as a fellow Bills fan. These trades, always a gamble no matter who they involve, hurt deeply for sure but I'll tell you, it's a good gamble IMHO. For all the supreme talent and potential Watkins flashed those glimpses of every-so-often but not often enough, Beane & Co. had to make a call eventually on him. Honestly, my gut, after living and breathing these damn Buffalo Bills for nearly 30 years now - the ONLY footballs team I've ever loved like this - tells me they just were never going to get more than 50% of Sammy Watkins in a Bills uniform. His foot was a big part of that equation but who really knows what it would be next that made him come up gimping from any particular play. And I'm incredibly suspicious about what the docs may or may not have been telling the FO brass about that damn foot. I bet money it's going to be an issue this year again - even a small issue. If it costs him 2 games out, and let's say a high-ankle sprain costs another 3-4. That's just about what we've come to expect from Sammy. A little fragile. All that amazing talent and potential, but it doesn't mean squat if he's not on the field. I would have pulled the trigger on this swap. The Bills are so set up for the 2018 draft and it's probably not a stretch to think Beane & Co. can do even a little better drafting that Whaley and the bunch before him. I mean, I love EJ Manuel as a person and character, but come on.
  14. I'm still stunned but it's a good move all around. It's basically a bet on Sammy's foot or any other ailment that might pop up. Let's face it - he's been pretty fragile in a Bills uniform. If you're going with his proven track record then you can only count on him for maybe 10-12 games this season without even knowing what the docs are saying to the FO. That's quite a load of draft picks now for a supposedly QB- rich draft. Clearly indicates this FO is looking at all of them hard and more. Clearly a refreshing change from the "hope a franchise QB lands in our laps" philosophy of the last 20 years.
  15. WOW! Holy crap! Please allow me to add my 10 cents or whatever the hell it's worth these days to this board in response to a day of trades this team has likely not seen befoore. I've stood by for many years reading what my brethren (and sistren?) have to say about our beloved (and behated?) Bills. The shock of this one won't wear off for many months, me thinks. It may take years to absorb this kind of trade day for any Bills fan (I've been a die-f**king-hard Bills fan for nearly 30 years - you don't know loyalty until you love the Buffalo Bills - I will literally die being a Bills fan - it's in my f**king DNA!!!!). IMO dbperr is probably on the mark here and I'm in at leat 80% agreement with the OP. Brandon (great name) Beane is probably extremely suspicious of that infamous foot and he darn sure has better info on it than any of us here. My gut was telling me Sammy was no better than 50/50 at best to go this season for at least 14 games, other typical unforeseen injuries not withstanding. I LOVED the Watkins pick when it happened but we must admit his durability SUCKS. Yes, he's incredible and a game-changer the likes of which the Bills have never really had for long - when he's fully healthy. But that freakin' foot is still extremely suspect. I honestly think this was a gamble call, no doubt, by Beane and Co. on that foot. If it's a 50/50 situation, and seriously we'd probably not pony up the funds to keep him next year and beyond without some other team pealing him away for a bit more, this was a smart move - albeit a gamble. Clearly Sammy was gone next year given what we know now. Jordan Matthews is much more reliable and has the numbers we would have expected from Sammy - not a one-for-one replacement but not bad. The question is who now becomes the "burner" or over-the-top threat that Sammy filled. Nobody will fill Sammy's shoes given all he could (potentially) do with his amazing talent. How do they make up for his various contributions will be key. At least maybe now some of the buffoons at BN can shut the F up about how questionable drafting Sammy was and all the "sacrifice" that was made to move up for him. I'm so friggin' tired of their crying about that. Move the F on! This is not a Whaley & and Co. move but I think it was wise. With all these high draft picks they can get one of the top 3 rated QB's and still get my fav of the class - the closest thing to Brett Favre since, well Brett Favre - who might be named later in another post. Those are my thoughts - Blast away everyone!
