It's one of those unknowables for sure, but I would wager that Allen would find much more success than Daboll if they were eventually to go their separate ways.

I think Allen would have succeeded under Gase or Marrone or any other OC similar to how Mahomes or Rodgers or Wilson would have equally succeeded under any given circumstances. This isn't Jared Goff we have here. This is a legit freak show at QB.

It won’t, that’s true. But it’s a stretch for me that they would have stood up on 4th and goal the drive before just to lay down at the most obvious moment. I also don’t see Jets brass bribing the staff to throw games. Too conspiratorial. In all likelihood Douglas realized the best bet for the #1 overall was keeping everything intact to the end of the season. Jets are just that bad.
