Silly article imo. There’s little reason to be as down on the Bills as that article reads unless you’re trying too hard to make a point. 7-5 is the absolute worst record this team could have at this point in the season. It’s a season of thin margins and we have been on the wrong side thus far.

The idea that he doesn’t ‘know how to play MLB’ is hilarious half the people in this thread couldn’t tell you his keys or responsibilities in this scheme and they watch the Bills play every Sunday

He’s currently captain of the #1 defense by yards and #2 by points😂😂😂

for me a lot of defensive line play is instinctual and sometimes it looks like he is overthinking. Phillips is a smart player but if you watch a vet like Lotulelei in the middle for example, you'll see him in 1tech getting pieces of guards in zone to buy an extra half step for the LBs, keeping his footwork balanced when he needs to have a different angle...I rarely see that ability to adapt out of Phillips. He knows his responsibilities but doesn't have any counters when the situation calls for it

Also at some point they will need to make a decision on H. Phillips imo he gets moved off his spot way too easily and too often to be fair I’m not entirely sure why he was in 3tech and not Oliver weird look defensively

He’s unfortunately moving away from the LOS too he can gain a lot of leverage if he doesn’t allow the G to get on him downhill

I guess this is a good example of how people can see the same play differently Oliver is lined up at the 1tech but doesn’t command a double…so he imo needs to stack his man at the LOS and make them pay for only blocking him 1v1. Instead he fires off downhill…takes himself out of the play

This is the play and what happened- Both DTs are easily handled 1v1 (in different ways, Oliver’s aggressiveness off the snap is used against him while Phillips simply gets moved) which allows both guards free release into second level Epenesa fails to recognize wham exchange and is moved by Bourne Edmunds is slow to get off his block and Milano simply never does, which opens up cutback Hyde takes really bad angle important to note that with the extra offensive lineman gap responsibilities are likely much different in 4-3 base and so I hesitate to say conclusively that anyone is clearly in the wrong place wrt run fits

Is having a lot of first round picks outside QB necessary for a good offense? In KC it’s only Edwards-Helaire that I can think of…can’t think of a single first round Packer on offense either. Bahktiari isn’t, Runyan isnt, Adams and Jones aren’t…

He did make a better throw, on the down prior. It wasn’t caught, but it probably should have been. I don’t think you can reasonably expect a QB to hit two of those throws back to back in those conditions vs that defense.
