With news of the recent retirement of Kiko Alonso, some Bills fans on Twitter have named him the best “one year wonder” in Bills history.

Who are some other players that come to mind who had really one great year and then a middling to below average career?

    A few come to mind:

    1. Karlos Williams - He had a monster 2015 season averaging almost 6 YPC and scoring 7 TD’s, despite missing 6 games and playing behind Shady. He also was decent in the pass game.    He seemed to be the perfect back and should’ve had a big career.  But his attitude and failure to stay in shape forced him out of the NFL and he never played again.   Tremendous waste of potential.

    2. Peerless Price - he went from being a steady WR2 to exploding in 2002 with career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.  Donahoe traded Price as a RFA and he continued to be steady but unspectacular WR he was prior to 2002.

    3. Terry Miller - Rushed for 1060 yards his rookie season in 1978.   He rushed for less than half that during the remainder of his career.  Out of the NFL 3 years after his rookie standout season.

    4. Robert Foster - Became one of Josh Allen’s favorite targets and established himself as a bonfide deep threat with over 500 yards and 20 yard avg in just 11 games.  But he sunk on the depth chart and was out of the league 3 years later.

    5. CJ Spiller - high draft pick that had a middling career until his 2012 breakout season where he rushed for over 1,200 yards.    He had a decent year in 2013 but his production dropped quickly after and he was out of the NFL by 2017.

He was not a wonder of any length of time.

    Same with Foster.

If that loss to KC wasn’t out of their mind 1.5 hours after the game their male father figures should’ve taught them

better.  Common problem with mama's boys is they tend to have a bad mix of elevated female emotion(a purposeful trait for a mother) and the male desire for results.  We’re screwed if this loss this bothers them.

It bothering fans who can't take a guy wearing a Seconds 13 jersey is totally ridiculous. It bothering players is something you better be hoping for.

As to dwelling on a loss, ask Josh Allen and the team about that.  I'd wager they didn't "sleep soundly" that night and by extension neither did

    a lot of fans.

They use this emotion to dedicate themselves to improve.

I may get lamb basted for this, but last night it appeared to me that maybe the team is starting to believe all of the hype. I hope that's not the case. That loss to KC needs to drive this team forward. I don't want them forgetting about it. Last night made me worry that it may be too far in their rear view mirror.

Fans are emotional about their team and rightfully so. Some have debated whether they take the losses harder than the players. With that said, I wouldn’t expect for a Bills fan to walk around with “WIDE RIGHT” and the number 47 on a Bills jersey, no more than I would expect “SECONDS” and 13. That fan might find it humorous, but the pain of defeat still stings with many, so much so that they refuse to watch anything after Josh’s final TD pass. But perhaps your response to Logic was based on personal history between you two, but I felt inclined to chime in on the “humor” of the jersey.

    Embrace the pain.

Scheme. They won’t leave him on an island in the regular season.

From the few snippets available it appears that our starting safety tandem is missed.

It’s always the same crappy Schtick. “I’ve obviously got a figured out way more than you do and I’m way cooler than most because I don’t care as much as they do”

I would argue “the worst” is an understatement.

Also arguing like he knows how the majority feels, when he’s succeeded in being a voice for the exact opposite around here, is pure comedy.

And as far as funny things go a 13 seconds jersey isn’t what I could categorize as hilarious even if I wasn’t an emotional fan. So now we know his humor is heap of garbage too.

…. I bet he’s that dude that’s really picky and critical of movies too. Just to be overly edgy about things.

    Too much caffeine?

I'm trying not to get too excited over what this defense could be. I just read the article about how Von Miller can elevate Ed's game, and it was eye-opening when you consider the effect Von had on Aaron. From the article, I thought this was quite telling:

Also, consider that Von was only with the Rams for just 12 games, if I'm correct. Plus, our defense is better than the Rams' with Von, IMO. Anyway, I compared the physical attributes of the two as a reminder of how similar they are. Some of Ed's numbers are from his pro day workout.

  7. My Kiko jersey was a treasured, prized possession. I wore it with pride to each Bills game I attended. One Sunday a friend, @BringBackFergy axed me if he could borrow it and being a trusting sole I said "sure" and gave him the jersey. That's the last time I ever saw it. Later that same fateful Sunday I again saw Ferguson but sans jersey. He was walking kinda funny and had this crooked smile on his face. When I  axed him about my jersey he said he had traded it. I never found out what he got in return & I've never seen my beloved Kiko jersey again.

You give me a little bit to answer to here. I still don't understand why you consider him a selfish prick. Was it because he played on a broken leg? Was it because he chose not to be a lemming and take an experimental drug into his body? You have it wrong, I never claimed to be the smartest man in the room. When it comes to compliments I think it's best to let other people do the compliments and keep my own mouth shut. Regardless, you still haven't given any specific reason for why you think he is a douche. In what way did he put himself before his team? Oh, and is there something wrong by being outspoken?

I specifically stated that he did his job while he was in Buffalo.

You can try till your little heart is content to make me turn this political.  I know it hurts you that I am not.

Yes ... there is something wrong with being outspoken when it becomes a distraction ... which he did ... which is why he's a douchebag.

But you know this.  You know why.  Your cute words like "lemming," and "experimental," say all they need to say about you and your motivation.  Try someone else.  I'm not biting.

This thread is about the Dirty Lil Hamster. Please apologize to each other and hug it out.

Granted, I was super young but wasn’t his big problem was that he was too loyal. Like he should have fired his DC after the first SB. The idea that they put arguably the greatest pass rusher in a 3-4 is insane.

and happy birthday to Marv. One of the nicest and genuine human beings I have ever met.

    Loyal, trusting and nice.

I agree with your post. There’s a few members here who may know how to fin angle that draft. @Gugny @Beerball @Mike in Horseheads

I don't know why @billybrew1 thinks his draft would have been better than the one Beane put together. Beane has been fin angling for years now and he's shown that he knows how to construct a team. Look at some of the moves he has made: he fin angled Jacksonville to take Tub'OGoo, he fin angled Cleveland to take Tuhrod Taylor. He fin angled Diggs away from Minnesota.  Regarding the draft, look at all the fin angling he did in the latter rounds.

At this point I give Beane an A+ at fin angling. I don't think that bb1 has done enough to be graded at this point.
