    He probably is, but why

Also, based on one of the Training Camp reports, Josh Allen is probably your most capable back-up punter. Wouldn't that be wild  - stupid, but fun for a moment.

Ben R used to have a “surprise” punt or two back in his earlier years. 3rd and 37 from your 10 yard line. You don’t want to risk your QB getting sacked or the eventual punt blocked…quick kick.

In this day in age…. You have to just let it play out. I’m not taking anyones side. This is sloppy and has just too many questions to be answered.

I hate responses on here that say “this looks bad, just cut him”…. Why? There is too much false accusations that get thrown around daily. If he’s guilty let them prove their case, if he’s not the truth will come out. That’s it. I am not leaning one way or another and I could care less how this “looks”….

Of course it has to “play out.” It does not have to play out with Araiza on the team. Cut him now.

The NFL investigated Danny boy therefore he’s innocent.

Cleveland investigated Watson therefore he’s innocent.

The league investigated Miami & Cleveland for tanking, therefore they didn’t.

Those are only some of the most recent investigations conducted by team or league that were roundly criticized here. Look back a few years and you’ll find many, many more.

Cut Sweeney keep Taiwan Jones they’re not gonna completely wean themselves off of special teams players

Let Bass boom each kick, problem solved. There will be the rare windy day but talent needs to win out.

I remember well the Monday "Howard and Jeremy Show" following the 2018 NFL Draft, and Simon practically whining that we drafted the wrong Josh. He was lamenting the Bills didn't draft Josh Rosen, and spouting innuendo about Josh Allen's character. I think Simon is overrated and I won't miss him at all. I hope Sal takes his place.

Underdog stories, especially RBs and WRs, seem to be a tradition unlike any other for Bills fans, and probably fans of most other teams.

This year is no different. In the tradition of Da'Rick Rogers, Naaman Roosevelt, Brandon Reilly, Dez Lewis, Joique Bell, Cierre Wood, Christian Wade, Antonio Williams and of course Duke Williams, this year we have Raheem Blackshear.

Raheem Blackshear is a nice story. UDFA, comes in and does well in the first two preseason games, doing a lot to at least make it a tough decision on cutdown day for the Bills. But this is a story we see almost every year.

Let's look at this objectively in terms of making the roster and what he could potentially provide to the team:

    In terms of running ability:

    • He is not a more accomplished runner than Devin Singletary
    • He is not a more powerful or effective short yardage runner than Zack Moss
    • He is not faster or a better pass catching back than James Cook

    In terms of special teams:

    • He is not better than Taiwan Jones
    • He is at best in the mix in terms of kick returner but one cannot make a case that he is by far the best return man

If all of that is accurate, then he is perfect for the practice squad. Remember, every team in the NFL passed on him for all 7 rounds. Sure, there are UDFAs that make it, but a good showing in preseason games vs. 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers will not change the minds of many (any?) NFL GMs. Go to the ESPN Scores page and scroll through and see who led each game in rushing. There were a lot of Blackshear-esque performances by guys you never heard of.

Blackshear is a nice story, but I expect him to be on the practice squad.

I wondered where that wet blanket was.

After 20 years in the Pacific NW, I'm heading back east. I took a job with University Hospitals in Cleveland and bought a house along the lake on the east side. Movers are coming on Sept 7 and will be driving one car with my wife and two cats 2635 miles.  Will have to listen to the Rams game on the radio probably somewhere in Montana.

Super excited to be so close to Buffalo for this upcoming season.  Should be just under 3 hours from my house to the stadium.

I'm going to need to get used to 1pm start times again. Prime time games will be easier to watch.  Looking forward to a quick trip to Detroit for Thanksgiving game.

Does anyone know if I can update my screen name? Or start a new one with the same email?

Congratulations on the move.  Screen name questions should be directed to @BringBackFergy who has more aliases than anyone outside of @DC Tom

    Food for thought.

Our team is stacked and DEEEEP.

We didn’t even have a chance to see Punt God hold for Bass much under pressure. Aren’t we all hoping to have a guy that can hold the ball properly when the game is on the line?

    Keep Bass - Obviously

Keep Araiza - 78 yd punts. Obviously.
Keep Haack - FG Holder Specialist

It’s never been done (to my knowledge) but well worth it.

    Fire away.

Do you think that 3 kicking specialists can exist on the same team? I mean, it's been done with 2 kickers and one punter on occasion, but never 2 punters and one kicker. I'm not sure McDermott can control them. He stands a chance of losing the locker room if your scheme blows up in his face.

Hey, as long as this continues with some athletes being treated as above the law and the NFL just slaps their hand then the NFL and it’s “employees” will never have to clean up their act. Politics, we see it in our government and we see it in our sports, these athletes have gotten way out of control. As outrageous as this has become imagine if it were your sister or daughter that was victimized. As of now it’s just women that you hear about but if it were to hit home it would compound it immensely. Something needs to be put into place by being regulated by a third party, it’s WAY overdue! It’s disgusting that these people with no morals or conviction are in a position of authority.

Why don't you do yourself a favor and include team owners in your title and diatribe.

All football things aside (and I do think he’s good at football)…

this hit me hard because Dawson Knox seems like he was born to be a Buffalo bill and seems like the one of the best dudes you would ever meet. He bought a house in Buffalo without a long term deal. He’s one of Josh’s best friends. He’s always at the Sabres games. He has a charity that benefits WNY.

I don’t know him but I feel like I do. I can’t imagine what he’s going through. It just sucks.

Based on interactions others have relayed your analysis is spot on.

We have this thread of random awesome stuff in Sabrespace.  Thought I'd start this here... post things that we experience or come across... This weekend I saw this:

No longer Jests, Giants or Patriot territory in Danbury CT... Go Bills

Can we transition to things that are not awesome?

People who end their thread title with “where you at.”
