  1. We are definitely the better team but we came out sloppy just like last year. If we cut out the stupid mistakes in the second half we should be fine.
  2. There are about 4 huge mistakes that changed this game from 24-0 to 10-7.
  3. Looked like they knew how to play it with the exchange but Poyer just misplayed the coverage.
  4. Missed Jordan Phillips. Big guy makes big plays.
  5. Please explain how the defense can hold on a run play. Makes up for that bad horse collar call I guess.
  6. We are not helping our defense out at all. They're stepping up big so far though.
  7. Okay let's stick with the bread and butter guys the rest of the game please.
  8. Sign me up for that. We win easily if that's all he gets.
  9. Every team knows his skill set from draft scouting and he's protected from waivers on the 53 so there's no reason to hide him. If anything, they would be hiding the scheme or specific plays that utilize his talents.
  10. Especially because none of those guys are subject to waivers. They could have cut them and brought them back to start while sending Hodgins to the PS until one of our starters inevitably misses some time. Wouldn't have cost them anything to keep Hodgins. Same for Blackshear for that matter. The only reason I can see to cut them is to give them a chance to sign somewhere else, but I'm sorry-- this is a business and we will regret not having some quality players to call up if any injuries happen.
  11. Yeah I see how that was too vague. Gotta do something with him right? I just don't want them to disregard the situation by starting him nor do I want to see his career ruined because they feel like they have to save face by completely cutting him off before the facts are known.
  12. So sign another punter until everything gets resolved. If Araiza is innocent, he gets his job back. If he's guilty, cut him. Nobody is going to claim him off waivers right now so he can be on the practice squad until further notice.
  13. You are not alone. Which is why it's absurd to have 200+ pages of conjecture before anyone knows what really happened. Gotta let the full truth come out before I make any comments about his future with the team. Clearly the victim in the case deserves justice and sympathy but nobody on the outside knows the extent of Araiza's involvement in the crime.
  14. He's still better than the Carolina commentators.
  15. Hodgins is making a really good case for himself.
  16. Can't touch a QB near the sidelines but it's fine if the QB lowers the shoulder on a guy already out of bounds I guess.
  17. That grid was published before the season started based on projected win totals. The Bills were 9th in their model. Retroactively -- based on actual win totals -- the Bills ended up 1st. If I were a betting man, I'd take the over on the Bills' win total this year. But I haven't forgotten that we were 7-6 at one point last year after losses to the Steelers and Jaguars and getting throttled by the Colts. We got better over the off-season but so did nearly every other team in the AFC.
  18. And he would have gotten a lot more love if we didn't have to put all our effort into beating 5 wealthy Nashville donors. Little annoying that they're flouting the spirit of the campaign but it's all for a good cause so we just gotta beat them and get that extra $50k to Buffalo.
  19. If they read press clippings, they'll see the ones where they got torn a new collective butthole for dropping those games and hopefully have a chip on their shoulders.
  20. I didn't take their ranking into account when I was voting. I think they can have worse statistics and rankings but still be a better defense. To me, it will be all about how they perform against the top quarterbacks and how many 50+ yard rushing TDs they give up.
  21. That game showcased two of the best offensive performances in history. The modern NFL is not designed to allow any defense to stop an offense from scoring if they are playing at that level, especially when both defenses are playing without their best players. The only thing you can do is slow them down and manage the clock. Instead, we called two defensive plays that allowed the Chiefs to do exactly what they wanted to do in as little time as possible.
  22. That seems like a contradiction. If you're saying the players shouldn't have allowed the Chiefs to go 45 yards in 13 seconds, then you need to look at the defensive play calls. They were intentionally put in position to prevent a touchdown at the expense of 20 yard plays. That's 100% coaching.
