  1. None of those guys "made" the other ones. Brady could be his surgical stone-cold-killer self because he knew his defense would always give him a good chance to win. Mahomes can be his prolific playmaking self because his receivers are wide open all the time. And both of them always had O-lines that never let them get touched. The kind of greatness we saw from the Patriots and now the Chiefs is not because of one guy on either team. It's a symbiotic relationship that rarely occurs but produces exponential effects. I think Allen is a guy who could be part of that kind of greatness. I'm starting to doubt that we have the other component that makes the magical brew.
  2. I'm not hating on Mahomes. I was replying to a guy who said Mahomes was "virtually unstoppable." That is not a label you can put on a QB who threw for under 200 yards. He didn't make any big mistakes and his team was virtually unstoppable in the second half. But he had a very mediocre game. Two of his touchdown passes were thrown to guys who had their entire half of the field uncovered.
  3. It was 3rd & 8. Should have been 4th & 8. They would have kicked a FG and given the ball back to Philly with about a minute and a half left.
  4. Mahomes threw for 182 yards.
  5. Someone please tell me how officiating doesn't win or lose games. Eagles just had a chance with a minute and a half left down 3. The refs just gave it to KC instead.
  6. How is that a problem? He's been incredible for them the second half of the season.
  7. Please. Give him either of these O-lines and these weapons and he's the perennial MVP.
  8. Such a ridiculous comparison. Especially since their coordinator held the same offense that completely blew us out of the water to 20 points two weeks ago. You can give up points, you just can't do it as easily as Frazier does. The Chiefs were still in this game despite their offense struggling in the first half because their defense is making things difficult for the Eagles. They have a touchdown for goodness sake.
  9. He's had a below average offensive line every year he's been in the NFL. He has no reliable receivers other than Diggs (who has also dropped more than a few perfect passes). He is half of his team's rushing offense. His OC can't scheme anyone open that doesn't require him evading pressure for over 5 seconds. His team's defense requires him to be absolutely perfect in the playoffs. No other team asks their QB to do as much as the Bills expect from Allen.
  10. Dorsey and Frazier were both awful. The difference is that Frazier has been awful in the last 3 playoff losses. I wouldn't want to keep Dorsey around for next year either but at least he has room for improvement. Frazier has shown his ceiling and it is not good enough. The defense only gave up 13 points in the last 3 quarters because the Bengals started running Mixon for 6 YPC after they had the easiest first two drives they've seen all year for two TDs. They could have scored 40 points in that game even if the offense hadn't ***** their pants.
  11. We're not that close. We just got blown out at home by a team that was starting 3 pylons on their offensive line. We have to cut ties with several very good players this off-season. Last year we were very close. Last year we should have won the whole thing. The only reason we didn't is because of coaching. This thread is not about "blowing up the whole darn thing." It's about finding someone who will actually game plan instead of putting the head coach's scheme through the motions week in and week out regardless of personnel or situation.
  12. Mahomes was only able to scramble because all of the pass rushers were being held. And he clearly flopped.
  13. I know, it's amazing how much drive-ending or drive-continuing penalties can affect the game. Edit: And also how much easier it is to play football when you get away with penalties constantly.
  14. Well let's see. There were 40 seconds left on the clock when the Bengals punted and the Chiefs got away with two obvious blocks in the back resulting in possession about 40 yards past where they should have started. Then they get away with 3 separate holds on the same play where the Bengals get called for a soft game-sealing penalty. And that's only a few minutes after the refs declined to call a more obvious roughing the passer on the Bengals' previous drive. So the Chiefs did absolutely nothing on their final drive (besides get away with obvious penalties) and were awarded a 45 yard field goal attempt to end the game.
  15. If it's pretty even when KC gets a few questionable calls (not to mention the non-calls) then it's not really even.
  16. It's a possibility. The Chiefs get help from the refs in the last couple drives almost every game so it gets hard to tell them apart.
  17. They were also collapsing the pocket when they only rushed 3 though.
  18. I'd rather watch the better team be cocky than the lesser team be gifted a win by the league.
  19. Dude you are wrong. The NFL would have continued that game. McDermott and Taylor stepped in (rightly so) and told them they wouldn't continue.
  20. Well, they were all called / not called for the same reason. Not because of whether they're penalties or not, but whether it helped KC or not.
  21. Yeah I saw both of the blocks in the back in real time. And the NFL looooves calling those regardless of whether it's legit or not. There's only one reason not to call multiple obvious penalties on the final return of the game.
  22. Maybe you would be outraged. I cringed at some of the personal fouls Josh drew this year. It's smart on his part but it's ridiculous that QBs get away with flopping out of bounds constantly.
  23. Just re-watched the intentional grounding. It was 5 yards in front of the receiver but never made it back to the line of scrimmage so it was actually a good call. The personal foul was still terrible though. In real time he was out of bounds for about a tenth of a second and the defender barely touched him. You just can't call ticky tack stuff when it decides the entire game.
  24. The intentional grounding penalty was awful. It landed about 4 yards in front of a receiver. The personal foul was also egregious. Ossai got one hand on Mahomes and didn't even push him. The Chiefs got the royal treatment from the NFL today, as usual. I'm sure the sports books are happy though.
  25. His O line is just terrible. He was getting pressured as quickly as Josh was in our game. There was no excuse for our defense to get so little pressure on Burrow. Or for our DBs to be playing 10 yards off coverage. The Chiefs' defensive coordinator actually game planned for the Bengals and ours didn't.
