  1. I'm not a professional. I'd hope the Bills can make better decisions than the ones I propose, but that's hardly ever the case.
  2. What does this have to do with people like yourself who would rather have Tre White and Josh Allen over Pat Mahomes?
  3. Because they're total homers.
  4. Nope. He's still a very good young QB and we'd be lucky to have a QB like him.
  5. This just isn't true. If they had worse QB play they wouldn't even be in situations where luck could get them a win. They'd just be really bad, like we are. Watson is providing them with average to above average QB play. The result is that they have a good team, who is entertaining, and the franchise is heading in the right direction. The Texans should be a competitive NFL football team for as long as Watson keeps playing like this. If they continue to add around him, particularly upgrading the OL, they could become an elite NFL team. And the Bills didn't almost beat them with Allen. He produced next to nothing offensively despite being handed multiple short fields to operate on. Prior to the throw where he got hurt, he had 40 yards passing in roughly 2.5 quarters of play. That's as bad as it gets in the NFL. We were losing when he got hurt. I never understand why people have to try and trash what other successful QBs are doing to try and make our steaming pile of you know what look better than they actually are.
  6. We need to improve drastically just to pass the 31st ranked team in most of those categories. I'm dead serious when I say this might be the worst offense in NFL history.
  7. The Texans are 14th in points, 14th in total yards, 19th in passing yards, 10th in QB Rating, 9th in TD passes, 15th in fewest Interceptions. If the Bills had that type of passing output, or even close to it, we'd probably be 6-3 right now and in the thick of the playoff hunt. Unfortunately, we're 32nd in points, 32nd in total yards, 32nd in passing, 32nd in QB rating, 32nd in TD passes, and 31st in fewest Interceptions. Our offense is the laughing stock of the NFL. It's arguably the worst in the history of the league when you adjust for era.
  8. Hopkins is great, but the other guys he's been throwing to are either always injured or not very good. Watson is a really good QB. He'd be a massive upgrade over anyone we have.
  9. Yeah. It's not his fault he's playing. It's not like the guy isn't doing his best. He's just not good enough. Asking him to retire, and trying to shame him is a really bad look for Bills fans.
  10. Sure. I'd take a QB pretty much every year, or every other year until you hit one. Usually if you find a good one, you usually know you've found one very early on in their career. Most guys show they're good very quickly. We won't take one this year, but we definitely need to pour resources into the offense. Then if Allen doesn't show signs of life you go all in on taking a QB in 2020 which is shaping up to be an excellent year to need a QB.
  11. I don't see very many of those guys being available in free agency and we're certainly aren't going to sign them all. There are tons of NFL teams with $50+ mil in cap space who will be trying to sign those guys as well. I heard somewhere the franchise record for fewest points scored was 200 and we're on pace to score like 170 points this year. We won't just break the franchise record; we're on pace to shatter it.
  12. No. I've maintained for about 10 years now that finding a QB is really hard unless you have the #1 overall pick. Historically speaking, about 70% of QBs picked first overall are successful, whereas about 28% of QBs picked 2nd to 32nd overall are successful. Unless you're picking #1 and taking a blue chip guy, the vast majority of first round QBs aren't successful.
  13. I say that about every QB. It's really hard to find a good one.
  14. It's hard to avoid when you trade out of a pick and could have drafted two QBs who are better than any QB we've drafted in 35 years...
  15. History shows that probably won't happen.
  16. Much better than any of the QBs we have on the roster.
  17. I agree. We won't be able to sign any quality free agents, particularly on offense. Simply put no one is moving to Buffalo to join the worst offense in NFL history unless we over them significantly more money than anyone else is offering. I see them going after one or two second tier guys, and several third/four tier guys to improve their depth and fill specific holes. They'll probably add an interior linemen who can start at one of the guard spots, and I think they'll sign a decent #3 type receiver (the WR class is really weak this year). Other than that I think they try to fill their offensive holes in the draft, adding a WR, OL and RB in the first three rounds. On defense they'll continue to bring in guys like they have in the past who fit our specific Cover 2 scheme. 7 of our 10 draft picks are on day 3 of the draft. Expecting 8-14 new starters considering who is going to be available in free agency and what draft picks we actually have to use is a crazy expectation unless the Bills trade down in the 1st and 2nd rounds. I'd guess we sign two middle of the road free agents (OG, WR), and use early draft picks at WR, OG and RB. The rest of our picks will likely be guys who fill in as depth early on. I think we can count on having about 5 new starters on offense, with maybe 2-3 more guys who contribute in a less significant role. Expecting double digit new starters isn't going to happen unless we spend like a bunch of drunken sailors in free agency.
  18. Competent offensive coaching that puts players in a position to succeed. 1. Put Kelvin Benjamin in the slot. As Booger McFarland noted, he's a Popeye's Biscuit away from being a tight end, so treat him as one. Forget lining him up on the outside where he's incapable of creating separation. Move him inside as an H-Back and try to get him matched up on linebackers or safeties. 2. Split Lesean McCoy out wide and figure out a way to get the ball in his hands in space. Our line can't hold their blocks long enough to get him to the edge without getting dropped for a 3 yard loss, so move him out wide to begin with and scheme ways to get him the ball on the edge. Throw him bubble screens, quick slants and wheel routes up the sideline. 3. Keep Jones and Pryor as your outside receivers. 4. Give Ivory and Murphy the bulk of the carries. McCoy can't run behind this line and we as an offense can't overcome negative plays. We can't afford to have McCoy dance in the backfield and lose yardage, so use Ivory and Murphy as direct downhill runners who gain some type of yardage each time they touch the ball.
  19. Overpaying for free agents is how we got into the current mess. Seems like a bad idea to repeat the same mistake.
  20. Because you're playing the Pats who score 30 points a game and expecting to win the game by scoring 13 points is an abysmal strategy. You're right. It's week 9 and our Head Coach hasn't been fired. We'll see what happens if his offense sets a franchise record for fewest points scored and biggest point differential and they're playing to half empty stadiums in December.
  21. Nothing is being made up. The Bills have the worst point differential in the NFL and are often down 20+ points. The result is that they wind up going for it more than your average NFL team that is in close games most of the time. When the Bills are in one score games, we never go for it on 4th down. Against the Pats we punted multiple times from around midfield down 1 score in opposition territory. When games are close McDermott plays super conservatively. That's who he is.
  22. I suspect having the worst point differential in the league has something to say about that.
  23. A pylon would make us more competitive than the other QBs.
  24. I don't take that as a positive. Not blowing the game shouldn't be the only barometer for success. Any competent QB should have had us up at least two scores given how many sacks and turnovers the defense generated. He was the biggest reason we weren't winning when he got hurt.
  25. Sure, but he'd probably have at least 10-12 TD passes. Imagine how much better we'd be if we could score around 20 points a week instead of 10 with multiple turnovers.
