Well, yeah, it's the leftists constantly calling Republicans racist. Look, I'm not blaming Republicans for participating in their own version of affirmative action here. I completely understand why it's happening, and Carson IS much more accomplished and likable than Obama. But if Carson were white, he wouldn't be polling this high and receiving this much interest.

I would've phrased it differently, but there's a point in there somewhere. Obama wouldn't have had a chance to be president back in 2008 if he were white. Similarly, I don't think Carson is polling this well if he were white. This isn't to say he's not an accomplished man, much more than Obama. But what makes him special is that he's a black conservative.

Because politics and even SCOTUS decisions are downstream from culture. The nation's culture has continued to veer wildly left, so, of course, SCOTUS decisions will, too. 10 years ago, Anthony Kennedy would not have ruled for national gay marriage. Never mind 20 years ago, 50 years ago, etc. I didn't read the article but it probably said something similar.

Well, you can implement the media solution to not give shooters personal publicity. That should cut these things down dramatically. If a liberal doesn't spend time organizing and writing to media outlets to stop giving these shooters publicity, they don't really care about mass murders. They care about banning guns. The major media outlets could agree on some ground rules about how to cover these incidents in a few hours. The government wouldn't have to get involved. It would cost nothing to the taxpayer. Again, mass shootings could be dramatically reduced tomorrow, for free. Focus on that.

Not making the playoffs with this team would be a horrible failure.

The top 3 news channels and the top 3 newspapers should make a pact with each other that from now on, they will not name the killer, show his face, or print his manifesto. Anyone who breaks the pact will be shamed by the other members of the pact. All other media outlets are encouraged to join the pact. Every new outlet that joins gets praised and listed on ThePact.com website. Readers and consumers of outlets that have not joined the pact should shame their outlets. The pact can be made today and announced publicly tomorrow after working out the logistics and making the website. Sure, there will always be outlets that resist and ways for people to find out the killer's name and face. But if I were a mass killer, there's no way I go through with it if I thought the public would actually have to search to find my name, face, and manifesto. "Put in effort? Americans don't do that. That's why I want to kill them."

We'd all be in the crossfire. First of all, the percentage of Americans that would resist is much greater than you probably think, and the percentage of military that would defect either overtly or secretively (to stay behind and sabotage) is also much greater than you probably think. Secondly, in case of civil war, countries like China and Russia aren't going to stay on the sidelines forever. They'll sit back and observe for awhile, sure, but at a crucial moment of weakness for us, they will make their move. Instead of wrecking our country and forcing all survivors of the civil war to have to learn Chinese to please our slavemasters, how about you liberals try out a realistic solution?
