  1. It looks like this originated in 2012 http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121022/CITYANDREGION/121029746
  2. Better yet, we can throw in these guys too Hefty Lefty Uncle Drew Shane Falco Tim Tebow
  3. Definitely not Vick, but I'd like to give Manuel the boot and pick up a veteran backup. Manuel carries a 2.8 mil cap hit, which sucks, but I'd pay more to see him leave. To be honest, I'd try to restructure his contract, and pay him more to make it more cap friendly when we cut him. As for Gilmore and Taylor, I'd wait until the season is over for both of them. Personally, I think Gilmore is overrated, but I have hope for Taylor. Now, the replacement "backup" QB would have to be either: Tarvaris Jackson Josh Freeman TJ Yates Clipboard Jesus Each one of these guys are 10 times better then EJ and should be fairly cheap.
  4. I'd love to see a sizeable target roam the middle of the field from the slot. Dez has size and great athletic ability, but I do not see him winning the 3rd WR job this year. He will most likely be the 4th or 5th WR on the depth chart, mainly seeing plays on the goal line or third downs over the middle. I'm not too sure if he can move to the outside just yet, but I could be wrong.
  5. The Pegula's want to Rex as long as they can, but at the same time want him to show improvement from year to year. Going 8-8 last year sets the standard for how the Rex regime will be graded moving forward. If we fall below .500 this upcoming year, and it's because of the defense, then Rex would most likely get the boot. If we fall under .500, and it's because of injuries or offense, then Rex may get another chance the following year. Now if we are in a situation where we make the playoffs at 7-9, then he would be safe as well, but I highly doubt that would happen in our division. As for replacements if he does get the boot, there are a few on our team as well as a few others I'd like to consider. Greg Roman - He has a great track record, very innovative, and has an ongoing relationship with current roster. Danny Crossman - Excellent Special Teams coordinator, gets the best out of players, and also has an ongoing relationship with current roster. Anthony Lynn - Has been an Asst. Head Coach since 2013, RBs under him consistently produce, and also has an ongoing relationship with current roster. Matt Patricia - Understudy to the ***** up north, defensive guru, winning track record, excellent relationship with players, develops talent effectively, probably knows how to slow down the other ***** up north as well. Darrell Bevell - Has developed Wilson from read option threat to legitimate passing threat, winning track record, Utilizes RBs effectively (Unless it's on the 3rd and goal with the game on the line), and gets the most out of WRs. Sean McDermott - Understudy to the great Jim Johnson, effectively develops DL, LBs, and DBs, excellent relationship with players, and progressed defense from one of the worst to top 5. My favorites from the bunch would be in this order: Roman, McDermott, and Patricia. GO BILLS!!
  6. FYI: Erie County's website has the stadium's leasing contract as well a few summaries Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. http://www2.erie.gov/exec/index.php?q=buffalo-bills-stadium-lease
  7. Should the Bills build a new stadium, or extensively renovate the Ralph like what Chicago did in 2002? Would they move the stadium away from the snow belt and move downtown? Where would they play home games during the renovation? Is a retractable roof a possibility in either renovation or new build? How much would an extensive renovation cost compared to a new stadium? Would the state or NFL help fund the stadium?
  8. As a 3-4 OLB he will mostly be covering the flat, which isn't that big of a deal, and when that does happen there will most likely be a blitzer on the other side of the ball. My only concern is when the blitz gets picked up and Hughes is left trying to cover a speedy RB or TE. Either way, as long as the blitz is disguised pre snap it will leave the QB scrambling rather than knowing exactly where to throw the ball. So essentially the success of Hughes on coverage plays falls on the design of the play and if the players conceal their first movements during the QB's pre snap reads.
  9. I am a supporter of the Dwight idea as well. Shaq is a complete OLB with both run stopping and pass rushing capabilities. We lose that with him gone, which leaves us with Manny, and Ik as the other edge rushers. Manny can cover, Ik can bull rush, but neither is a decent pass rusher. That's where Dwight can come in and fill the void. Now if he can't get along with Jerry, then I don't know where the coaching staff would go unless they believe an up and coming player on our roster will rise to the challenge. Personally, I'd give him $800k to bring in a guy with a ring, several pro bowls, and attitude, and about an 1/8 of a tank of gas left. A guy like this could make a defense better just by him being there, and I definitely don't see him being a distraction with Jerry.
  10. Dwight Freeney! - We will obviously be without Shaq Lawson for the first month, and Hughes is the only other effective rusher on our roster. We desperately need another rusher, and I think Freeney can be our guy! He was the Cardinals leading passrusher as a situational guy and he didn't even play the whole season. We can probably pick him up fairly cheap on a one year deal and play a similar role like he did last year. - So, brining in Freeney and playing him like what the Cardinals did with him last year makes a lot of sense to me. Hopefully the Bills see it the same way and make signing a rusher opposite Hughes a priority!
