Dareus traded to Jacksonville!
CommonCents replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a lost cause. The same folks did this with Watkins and his "double teams" he couldn't have had a worst start in LA against premiere corners and the same posters are still washing his balls. My guess is Dareus will actually play well on a star studded dline, ignore the noise. They got away from a disaster of a contract and moved on from a player whose likelihood to miss an entire season is pretty high. The noise will be deafining until the inevitable happens. -

Good stuff. An easier explanation for the folks that want to believe the Jauron talk and average player stigma is just point to an LSU poster of Tre White. The guy is an ideal example of what they want on and off the field. Read up on Tre White and expect the highest paid players and higher picks to be spent on similar players. It's not really that difficult to see what they want to do. Are they going to be able to do it? That remains to be seen. It's clear they won't be wasting time with low effort guys, it's safe to say they will be evaluating personalities much more so than our recent GM. -

I agree numbers don't tell the whole story but all you can do is piece together the puzzle and see what it looks like. If you are going into that kind of depth you would also have to consider the amount of targets that went towards Jordan Reed. That was Sean's claim to fame while in Washington. -

Garçon was the number one and I already went over his reception numbers. IIRC only three times in two years did he have less than 3 catches. In 32 games he never had less than 2 catches. -

I'm not a playoffs guy, my guess is the magic runs out as the injuries continue to pile up throughout the season. They have shown me that they can get everybody marching in the same direction and I believe that bodes well for the future of the team if they don't screw up all these picks. -

Accurate. He is not a part of their offense nor is he the focal point of the defense. Todd Gurley is getting all the attention and deservedly so. -

Yep with a team effort. That's what the folks that are trashing Beane are missing. They are doing more with less. IF these guys can draft then they have something going on. It's all dependent on the draft but it's unfair to be critical of them for shipping out high priced malcontents. -

I have watched the Rams games, we always have two tvs set up. Watkins isn't a big part of what they do on offense. The only game he produced was on the horrible 9ers secondary, a game in which Woods he more yards than Sammy. Deonte Thompson has a legitimate shot to out produce Watkins this year. Still some folks will die on the fence. -

.....forget about the detailed reports of the players not caring to learn Rex's system? Walking out on Seth Joyner at practice. Seth Joyner going on the radio before last season saying the Bills defenders don't care, they would rather play video games. Is it that hard to believe that there was some destructive players on the roster? Sure Rex gave up on them and he sealed his own fate but the players are not short on any blame. How is McD winning as much with less talented guys? The guys on the field want to win, the me first guys all have been sent packing. -

I watch about every Rams game Todd Gurley is carrying me to some $. What's that have to do with anything? Do you really think they are keeping a safety over the top of Watkins play after play when Gurley and company and killing them? Come on now. -

Hold up. In 4 games against top CB's Watkins has 6 catches for 83 yards. Norman Peterson Ramsey Sherman Are you trying to tell me they double covered Sammy Watkins the entire game? Draws double coverage is such a farce, can he produce against top level corners. No. That's 1.5 catchers per game and 20.5 yards against elite corners. That is ****. -
Exhibit A of why Culture is so important to a football team

Where did the Parker quote come from? That seems odd, he has been out a few weeks with the ankle and it was speculated that they would give him the extra rest to get to 100 percent. -

That's short sighted, you are ignoring the liability Dareus had become and not factoring in the future of the cap. That's what this move was about and anyone that denies that is being purposely obtuse. -
What role did Marrone play in this trade?

Hmm besides the Bills beating the Patriots in the playoffs I think the next team on my list would be the Jags. Imagine BB's face as Blake Bortles trots off a winner. -

His value is diminished because of his play and being a repeat offender of the substance abuse policy. The same people who wanted Martavis for a 7th are complaining about the Bills moving Dareus for a 6th. This trade wasnt about getting a pick in return it was about distancing themselves from the player and his contract the best way they could. That was to accept a minimal return from a team that is willing to acquire the risk of a malcontent who is a repeated offender of the leagues substance abuse policy. Make no mistake about it only one man killed his value, that was Dareus himself, with his immaturity, stupidity, and selfishness. -

That has to be the plan. Jackson gets after it too, let MD anchor the middle and the rest of them eat. -

It's a wrecking crew, Campbell already has 10 sacks and Yannick has 6.5, if Dareus can't shine here then he is toast. -

As I have been saying for a long time, your highest paid need to do more than just suit up and be "talented" Dareus was talented only when he wanted to be other than that he was a slug. Time was up. Next. -

Minus 78 yards for a play where Powell fell down and then got up and ran untouched. That would change the stats if that's what your looking at. -

Campbell is playing DE I think. Malik Jackson and Jones inside. Yannick and Campbell on the ends. I suppose they are hoping Dareus can upgrade over Jones. -
It's crazy. Rich old white guy hate. At my last job I was promoted multiple times and made a fair salary, my manager told me something I will never forget. When they would meet with the board the members wouldn't even shake his hand. This is a well paid 250k?anually? successful, intelligent guy, being treated like a peasant. EVERY SLIGHT IS NoT BECAUSE THE COLOR OF YOuR Skin!!!! Yikes. He was white as Casper, as were they. Let's face it that million/Billionaire fraternity doesn't break bread with the rest of us.
